Just had this very issue today. Fortunately I have an easy trap and just scrubbed it out. Draining fine now. Saved me an expensive service call. THANKS
Thank you sir. You’re amazing. Not exactly like my Bryant unit upstairs so I’ll have to convert it all to a Bryant and go from there. Much appreciate your video.
@@weekendhomeprojects Ive Been in the buisness for lets say , a long time. Normally Me personally would charge around 300.00 to come out and service the drain.. But I would completely clean the pan and add alfee tabs. Not just blow it out and leave
@@weekendhomeprojects sorry i misspelled it. Algae tab. they are tablets made for drain pans to keep algee from building up and flowing freely.. you can get them on amazon .
Had the same issue with my Goodman central air unit at home it was leaking water ,, I took the pipe apart and it was full of water so I cleaned it out and flushed it with hot water back to back then installed it back ,, issue is fixed,, I just was not able to get access to the pan to drain the existing water that was in there,, but thank you for the video
I like that clear p-trap. I'm thinking about replacing mine with a clear one? Do you like it? Just uploaded a video of me cleaning mine out after a leak.
Mine drains water out the bottom of the air handler after it shuts down for about 10 seconds. I wonder if that means I have a clog in the primary drain pan. I didn't know all I had to do was pull the filter out and you could see the primary pan.
@@ACPro It has a p trap. I can see water draining when I remove the cap off the stand pipe, but maybe it's clogged slightly upstream of that and not flowing enough? Kind of like a bathtub drain?
That's what mine was doing too. I just updated a video..first time the leak has got so bad it was coming from underneath. Usually it just flows down the side.
I started checking out these how to fix leaky HVAC. Mine is leaking water when the system is off. No leak when the system is on. Any idea what could be the issue when water is leaking into the PAN when the system is off? Too much condensation water built into the system? A plumber cleared the primary drain line, pure water into the line and collected it by the bathroom sink. P-Trap was replaced. Maybe a cracked in the primary pan inside the unit? Thanks for your feedback.
Possible cracked pan. Or the drain line is closed and where it terminates outside is covered up. The air cand suck the condensate back in the unit and when it turns off the pressure is released and water is allowed to flow. Also somethings that is missed is the actual hole in the pan where male adaptor goes. Make sure it is clear
Hi! My ac condensator is dripping water only the half bottom of it. Ac still working perfectly, the problem is that if I leave it running for a long time the condensator freezes up and builds up ice and then blocks the air from coming out of the vents... What can I do to stop the leaking? Thanks in advance!
@@mandot702 if you have it set at 65 and whole house is reaching its dew point. But if it's insulated properly and not being used in extreme Temps not like design for you area it is not.
How often does the AC drain get clogged up? My AC unit is going nuts. I've had to call a technician out at least 3-times. I hear like water dripping from my bathroom vent. They've come out and supposedly fixed the issue and it runs for about a week. I don't runt my air that much. What could be the issue?
your drain doesnt have good fall. your unit is old with metal drain pan , you don't have p trap, you have1/2 line, your pan is not clean and they are just clearing the line, you have extreme algae in pan . need to open it up and inspect like i show in video . these things i mentioned are just a few things i see that are common
Should your vents from central air ln bedroom kitchen bathroom ,living room be blinking green or blue lights even if the unit is not on also there is black dust coming out of them Help Me with this if you will Thank You
What's yours look like . Maybe you have a furnace and coil. The pans and drains are all same in principle. Only furnace don't need a trap becuase they are blow through coild and not pull through coil
My unit leakes from under the evaporator core. I had an H VAC man come. He cleaned out the drain lines You can see the water fllowing down the trap. But it puts about 1/2 inch of water in a pan I put under where it leakes in 24 hours. H VAC man said he does not know why it is leaking in that spot. Unit was installed in 2004. Any ideas?
The drain line itself may have a high spot that's causing it to build up, you'll likely need to clean it out again yourself and study to see... Often a one time cleaning doesn't get all the dirt out, maybe pour a cup of bleach down it too... To clean it out again the best thing to use is a wet-dry shop vac.
@@JolinHard you can. That is halfway doing it. Pan is there I promise. If you really want it clean it will take some work and if your system is old then some are not easy to get to . If extremely neglected then may even need a shop vac and alot rags .
Sorry, I disagree Sir. Clorox fumes will ROT out your evaporator coil over time. My best friend is a commercial AC/refrigeration tech. I own and maintain several rental properties in southeast Ga...it gets hot here. He advised me several years ago to change out the AC filters every month and take a wet/dry shop vac and suck out the drain line from the outside 2 times a year. I've never had any drainage problems out of 18 years in the rental business. No disrespect intended Toby, thanks for the video.
@@johnt9320 you will never hurt mine. I actually know what I'm doing . If you have a friend that tells you something and you believe it why would you be watching other videos.
