Thank you for your comment. Yes you are correct. the primary difference was the secondary foam filter that I removed from the original and placed it below replacement filter.

Yes there is a wire connection that you need to disconnect. If you take a really close look at it you can see a small latch or catch that it has that if you release that it comes apart

Pull back that small red tab on the connector and give it a good tug.

Mine did not need removal you can flip the cover up and to the left.

It might be but it depends on the year and engine of your vehicle.
