At 11:12:32 AM, the plane went into restricted Greek airspace and they sent an F-14 Tomcat to intercept it. The fighter jet shot a missile at it, but it missed. It started firing its' gun at it, knocking the tail fin off. The MD-83 started to turn to the right. Before it turned 90° degrees. Then it turned 90° degrees to the left. At 11:13:48 AM, It slammed into the desert, killing all but 1 of the people onboard.
