@@jasweengujral no i didn't. I kept reading reviews about how loud it is and in every video they would skip the cooking part just for that reason. People also said the microwave function is rather weak and it will need its own circuit. It still looks cool tho.

I think every microwave needs it's own circuit. I've never been able to run one in my kitchen without blowing a breaker if someone turns on something else. I'll take a clip of it cooking. I don't think it's that loud. I've had louder microwaves than this one.

@@ShellyWutke604 I went with the Breville combi wave. My microwave runs on the same circuit as my fridge so that isn't an issue. It's just the reviews of the Panasonic being loud and dying randomly that scared me away from purchasing. I appreciate your review though Miss Shelly!

@@ShellyWutke604 Just use the right stuff. NN-CD87KS has a maximum of 2110 watts. Simply use a usable power supply with 16A at 230V. You can add a weak electric kettle with 1500 watts. However, it is no longer enough for the useful ones with 2200 or 2400 watts. And it's best to use a decent outlet, so no NEMA junk where you can touch live parts. The rest of the world made this nonsense impossible decades ago.

I find with any air fryer you need to stop it mid-cook and toss the fries around. I took the video mid-cook so they weren’t as crispy at that point. It’s a good microwave and the air fryer definitely works very well.

Panasonic is a quality brand, Japanese brands still make long lasting products

It definitely can if you don't mind using your air fryer for toasting bread.

Chicken, wings, bacon, deep fried pickles...so many things. I love the air fryer option. I’ve even made dessert in it.

@@ShellyWutke604 I saw a feedback on Amazon Middle East that Airfry is only for frozen products so you can use this function for fresh cut potatoes. This was Panasonic ME information to customer. And ME versions don't have the frying basket. Did it come in your microwave or is it a separate unit? Thanks for the great review. I still need to decide if I need to pay twice as LG Neo Chef.

@@tufanbaysal4234 the manual had directions for fresh cut ones, can';t remember exactly but it wanted you to soakem in water awhile, then dry, then lightly oilem before cooking, idk read the manual it did have instructions for fresh cut and frozen

You need the basket for best results. It fills the cavity of the air fryer with heat so it circulates around it, and if you move the bottom rack down you get a lot of space.

Microwaves won't work for air frying. It likely has a heating grill/element with a fan since that is all an air fryer is

Are you using the enamel tray to protect the glass? The air fry basket stands on the enamel tray.

Make sure you wipe it down to make sure you are not burning off old fat splatters next time.

I just purchased the microwave and haven't used the air fryer function yet, but have been reading the manual. Just checking, you aren't removing the glass, are you? (the instructions say to never remove it, but not sure why the tray wouldn't rotate unless you removed the glass). The glass should be on bottom, then the enamel (black tray) should go on top of the rotating glass, then wire rack on top of that, then the air fryer basket. The manual has a wealth of knowledge, but not sure if I'm weird for liking to read that stuff 🤓

Also, I would check out the manual (bit.ly/34q7RCf ) for directions regarding specific thickness and weight of frozen fries you are using. Air frying frozen fries has direction on page 19, and baking frozen fries with Combo 2 on page 21 (for Combo 2, you do not use the air fryer basket though. You put the fries on the black tray on top of the wire rack).

I always buy McCain fries, but I think that's a Canadian brand? I haven't shopped for groceries in the US for over two years so I can't remember which brands you have. I used frozen fries and my air fryer doesn't rotate the tray. I always stop it half way through, toss them around a bit, and then turn it back on. That seems to get the best results.

I always read the manual for everything I use too. It saves so much time on trial and error. I don't remove the glass. Air fry kicks in a function to stop the turntable so it doesn't rotate.

Pretty easy. It wipes clean like any microwave.

Microwave 1110 watt input - 1000 watts output, broil/convection 1350 input and output, max for combi 2110 input.

Of course, unless it's a liquid that shouldn't be in there.

@@ShellyWutke604 A year later it is still about right... I just ordered mine and on sale it was 559.99 but with taxes it is a little over $648. CDN. I am at the stage in my life where I can indulge my every whim, and I'm worth it! Haha.

@@ShellyWutke604 Thanks for the review. I had the 'ordinary' Panasonic inverter and it was the best microwave I have ever had (I'm a senior). Used it many times during the day for years. Thought our town's wonky electrical system fried it finally so ordered this one with all the bells & whistles as it is on sale now. I then somehow reset it after our last power zap by unplugging and replugging back in and it works again. Oh well. I don't mind moving the old one to the cottage. My favorite setting is the sensor reheat. Fill plate of food from the fridge, press the sensor reheat and as soon as there is some moisture detected, it is done. No guessing and always perfect. Glad this new one has that too. Am looking forward to broiling and airfrying my halibut. I like London Drugs (in Canada) since they ship for free and I'm in the middle of nowhere. An suggestion from London Drugs was perforated parchment paper rounds that I ordered with it. 100 sheets to a pack for about $14.00 and it will come in handy for some messy foods I intend on cooking in it.

@@islandgal500 Parchment paper is a great idea. I’ve never seen it and I go to London Drugs all the time. I’m definitely going to look for it the next time I’m in there. Agree about sensor reheat too. I also like smart defrost as it’s fool proof. I never ‘over’ defrost anything anymore.

This is late but if you’re buying it mainly for the air fry perk… don’t lol

There is a defrost setting. You'll have to know the approximate weight but it does a good job.

I always take food out of the packaging and just put it on a plate or bowl. Underestimate time or weight and then check and add extra if needed. It must be food grade packaging, but rather not nuke layers of packing materials with my food.
