Air fryer beer batter fish

Today we are air frying some beer battered fish. Now traditionally cooking anything with batter in the air fryer is a recipe for disaster. Since the air fryer has a fan in it and it will make batter fly everywhere, but with this method that wont happen! What you will need:
8oz of cod fish (or any white fish)
1/4 tsp of garlic powder
1/4 tsp of table blend
For batter
1 cup flour
1 tbsp corn starch
1/2 tsp baking soda
1 egg
6oz of beer
For flour coating
1/4 cup flour
1/2 tsp salt
1/4 tsp cayenne (for spice)
Steps to follow:
1. Make your beer batter my mixing together all batter ingredients in a bowl. Putting plastic wrap on top and refrigerate for 20 min. Batter should be thick.
2. Pat your fish dry with a paper towel and season with garlic powder and table blend.
3. Mix your flour coating engredients together in a shallow dish
4. Dip fish in batter first and then in flour coating.
5. Spray some oil on top so the flour soaks it in.
6. Place into air fryer and spray the other side
7. Airfry for 12 min at 390F

This really works! It's simple, clear, and the perfect results are crisp on the outside and flaky on the inside! Unlike other recipes, that don't mention the hard-won knowledge from previous batter disasters in the air fryer of how batter drips everywhere, is a drag on cooking times, and gets leathery rather than crisp. You are experienced enough to show using a piece of parchment paper is a must to keep the coating from sticking to the basket netting or dripping down below. I made my own by cutting baking paper to size and using an office / school hole punch, just folding the paper several times to get the punch to all areas. My fish had skin, so I tried spraying both sides with oil and frying skin side down. This made all the coating crisp without dry flour spots or having to flip the fish.

nicely done. But that bench top finish makes it look like its covered in mold and needs to be severely scrubbed.

I dont really see the point in battering the fish if you are going to leave so much of it just bare flour.

You should have added 1 tablespoon of hot sauce to the batter.
