Popeye’s Famous Fried Chicken Recipe
Ingredients:
Chicken Marinade:
10 Pieces Chicken Legs and Thighs
1) ½ quart whole buttermilk- full fat to marinate the chicken
2) 1 cup Louisiana chipotle sauce or hot sauce
3) 2 tablespoons Kosher salt
4) 1 tablespoon dried dill
Spice Mixture:
1) ½ tablespoons Coleman's Dry Mustard Powder
2) ½ tablespoon Onion powder
3) ½ tablespoon Garlic Powder
4) ½ tablespoon Turmeric
5) 1 ½ tablespoon Cayenne pepper
6) ½ tablespoon Paprika
7) ½ tablespoon Cumin
8) 1 ½ tablespoon White pepper
9) ½ tablespoon Kosher salt
10) ½ tablespoon Celery Salt
11) 1 tablespoon Sugar
Batter Mixture:
1) 1 cup All-purpose flour
2) 1 cup Cornstarch
3) 1 teaspoon Baking soda
4) ½ Spice mixture from the above list
Egg Mix:
3 eggs
1/4 cup water
1/4 tbsp cayenne
