Compare the shape of the island shown here and in Google maps 2) check out the approach path of all flights landing at Port Blair Airport..(most aircrafts are made to fly over sentinel island)
You can barely see it, but at 0:25 on the bottom-right of the landmass, at the tip of the mini-peninsula pointing right, there is the Primrose ship wreckage from 1981 which the tribes have been scavenging form and has kick-started their Iron Age.
For all those who are thinking why the plane is preparing for landing : The North Sentinel island is located 50 km west of the Andaman Island which is fully inhabited and has an International Airport.
Damn imagine being one of the handful of people born into that island, that lifestyle. Everything you ever see and know is on that one island in the middle of a huge blue sea, with random aliens flying over in their loud ass birds every now and then.
Wild to think that the Sentines people have occupied that same island for 60,000 years!! I'm just curious to what they think when they see an airplane (or even what it is) flying above like that.
Ęxtřəmé Hűñteŕ i mean we do see ufos in their proper context of being unidentified flying objects .. saying we see alien spacecraft or flying saucers is a little different ..
Imagine if earth was like north sentinel island. There are alien civilizations far more advanced but they know we’re still “prehistoric” and are trying to preserve us
I think it's comforting knowing that at least the Sentinelese are mostly uncontacted, and living the way people did before civilization. They're unfortunately going to be affected by civilization when sea level rise gets bad, if the Indian Government is able to keep the missionaries at bay for that long. The people who want to convert them make me sick.
@@RsRj-qd2cg I don't know why the missionaries are trying to spread the word of Jesus with the tip of their tongues, as if the Sentinelese don't already believe in the almighty Boeing 747 that flies past every so often as their sacred entity. Maybe for them the narrative is more fitting than a ’sky daddy’ as some may say because it can be seen with our very own eyes. It's not like the whole world revolves around ’Jesus’ so maybe leave them alone for another 60 thousand years unless sea level actually rises ahead of time.
This makes me wonder how North Sentinel civilization has changed after contact with the outside world. I feel like there are popular rumors and legends among the Sentinelese about a “mysterious alien people” and the outside world. Who knows, maybe one day, someone from the island will be compelled to explore beyond the island.
Dude they have seen us before and they have seen helicopters rescue people from shipwrecks near the island they aren't retarded. They also don't want to be with us they have tried many times to make contact but they aren't having it. Why would they want to be with us anyways if they ate out of the grocery stores we have for a few years they would all become obese and then if they had phones and television they'd all become unintelligent and lazy. I'm sure they're doing better than most of the world in all honesty I bet it is like heaven
Guy Panzerboss no that’s false. In the 1980s a person was able to successfully contact these tribes. He was able to give them food and teach them some things. The tribe people have a faint picture of the outside world. I’d say they at least know that a plane is not some magical religious thing.
@@ElisPalace Just because you haven't been subject to any experiences doesn't mean the media is spreading misinformation/ and or overreacting if that is what you're implying. The CDC and all Major Health organizations have all stated that this is a detrimental effect on people of all countries, and ages. I've had two family members die of it in NJ and numerous friends who've been diagnosed. Don't be ignorant. When I said. "Cope", I'm also assuming you're a trump supporters since him/ and his supporters openly talk about how much they despise the press/media.
Yeah, wildlife. A bunch of half naked hunter gatherers that viciously try and kill any outsiders that dare come anywhere near their island. Doesn't get any wilder than that.
It will remain safe because of no contact with the outside world. Even if the virus were to wipe out all of world's population-not that that's going to happen- the sentinelese would go on living.
It really is a beautiful island, and it's absolutely satisfying to know that it and it's inhabitants' way of life and culture are being strictly preserved.
@@seendon5394 Keeping every human fed and free is the duty (and backbone) of a modern society. It's disgusting how many people in these comments value the maintenance of their tradition over human lives. You can't even pull the social darwinism card, since they are excluded from all the mechanisms of becoming wealthy the rest of the world has access to.
@@slyseal2091 not. Our. Problem. You do realize contact with the outside world is as the catalyst for their aggression, right? Outsiders victimized them. They are 100% right to fear us. Look what advanced cultures have done in the past to “lesser” cultures. Read the fucking comments on Sentinel related videos. See all the cringelords saying shit like “what if I go there with an AR-15?” “Let’s bomb them!” and see how people want them eradicated. They are better off on their own. Also, if you’re so passionate about this then ship your ass over there and stop wasting your time talking to a random dude on RU-vid.
@@seendon5394 Don't come at me with the past colonisation attempts, every dumbass knows that was just a front for unremitting exploitation. Saying that any modern attempt at integrating them into society would look tangentially similar is just a pretense for your "not my problem" attitude. You have no moral integrity if you think governments should be picky about supporting it's citizens, and ironically enough, you can only think like that because your government isn't sufficiently picky to kick ungrateful asses like you to the curb. "Not my problem" on a government scale is when the police and ambulance stop answering calls. Neither of us would last in that world.
A ship wreck actually happened there, that's how they got metal and then they made knives. They killed the fisherman and buried there under the sand till the indian government sent a helicopter to get the bodies out
But the island isn't different from other islands. I'm pretty sure that all the plant and animal species are the same. If we go by your logic, there could be new species in other undiscovered parts of the world. But yeah the probability isn't zero so you're right I guess.
0:38 - Right next to the engine you can see a crescent shaped beach with a small bay. This is located on the northwest portion of the island. At the extreme north end of that little section of the beach on the very lower edge of the screen there would be the remains of a shipwreck that ran aground in 1981. This was one of the very few encounters with the tribe from outsiders, and it shouldn't be surprising that it didn't go well. You can also spot this same shipwreck in satellite photos of the island on Google Maps. In the 40+ years since the shipwreck it is believed that the tribe has since started harvesting metal from the ship for tools.
Been there, the locals are so nice. They respectfully only gave me one arrow to the knee, my friend on the other hand, has been gracefully lucky and was given over 20 arrows. Fortunately he's with the lord right now.
@@deeznuts4777 'make it a destination place'. Are you out of your mind? This Island is not a plain piece of real estate. It's home to the native tribals. Indian anthropologists had tried establishing contact with them, but the Sentinelese reacted very aggresively. It was a simple and clear message from their side that they want to be left alone, hence after a few unsuccessful attempts(including Nat Geo crew) India decided to ban any form of travel, including researcher teams to the Island. It's under the protection of India and whoever tries to go there will get jailed. They propably have a very bad image of outsider humans, as British Colonialists had twice landed on the Island. They did a little massacre, kidnapped 2 grandparents and a kid to 'study them'. However both the elderly adults soon caught diseases because they didn't have immunity to foreign diseases because of their isloation, and the kid(who survived) was sent to the Island. The tribals would have ofc considered this as an evil action.
@@deeznuts4777 It's an Indian territory yes, and those people are protected by the Indian Constitution. They can't be evicted from that island just because you want a holiday resort. There are so many uninhabited islands for that.
@@soulaimaneakdah268 they didn't teach them anything. They were contacted twice where they were presented with coconuts as gifts. The island isn't suitable for coconut growth
@@satan_rex_inferorum The island is suitable for coconut growth, if it was not suitable, there would be not trees on that Island. And sometimes there is a lot of rain on that Island and the ground soake the Sea's water and it help the trees grow
You cant really say that, may be they are more civilized than us, as the definition of civilization cant be generalized, flying in planes or riding in cars don't necessarily mean that we are more civilized.
We cant see it though. Nobody can see it. Youre not seeing videos of the island, youre seeing a short clip of someone flying way above the island so far you cant even see anything specifically.
Tbf the North Sentinals got the advantage of living in an isolated island surrounded by sea . They got their own eco system. So anyone wanting to make interaction really has to go through many hurdles. Which lot of tribe on lands didn't got. They do come in contact with mordern humans time to time. Hence you will see them despite living in tribal way they still wearing modern clothes especially the children. This is enterily absent from this island. They r truly untouched by modernity. It's fascinating to think what culture, flora, fuana flourishing there. As much I am curious to know I hope their uniqueness don't get corrupted by outside. Props to Indian government for not invading and respecting their choice.
For people wondering what if aircraft has to make an emergency landing ? North Sentinel is JUST one island in the Andaman & Nicobar island group...and Indian Navy has it's base , people like us live on other islands , tourists go their , seaports are their and the nearest airport is very close !
Yes we know, but there is still a very very small change some day a plane won't make it the last 50km so it might have to land on sentinel island or atleast close to it. Some boats have been stranded there as well. So why can't a plane? You just need a very bad storm and very very bad luck. And looking at 2021 2022 bad luck is very common 🤣🤣
@@Rickertik010 Any sort of descent a plane might have would make it almost impossible to make a crash landing there, unless it was a complete nosedive. Even then, no survivors. And on the off-chance they have to make a landing, I guarantee you the pilot is putting that down in the water as close to another island as possible.
@@wiskyr6510 are you dumb? Planes can land in the water if they really really need to. If they run out of fuel you think they just keep flying like magic carpet? Ever heard of gravity bro?
@@wiskyr6510 Precisely. It'd be easier (albeit still incredibly dangerous) and more realistic to make a controlled crash landing into the sea. There's a reason that the pre-flight safety demonstrations are about the plane landing on water not landing on a random desert island.
In the year 1981, a mysterious man landed on the shores of Sentinel Island. He was a bearded man whom the Sentinelese first greeted with distrust, then fell at his feet and began to almost worship him. This man stayed in the island for 29 days and taught the Sentinelese the use of fire and how to make the wheel. On the 30th day, he left the island in a boat in the dead of night. The Sentinelese know him by various names: "Bearded God from Heaven", "Messenger of Knowledge" etc. People in the civilized world know him by one name: Chuck Norris.
Bruh, imagine these people finally advance to the level we're on today, and they discover that we already left a long time ago to go colonize the Andromeda Galaxy.
They can't, they're so isolated that they don't have enough resources to develop their society further. The best they could do is start building boats and venturing closer to mainland. Sad thing is that they also probably don't have any rocks to work with, let alone multiple types of stone because the island looks coralline, they could probably only make coralline weapons and tools.
@@wayneamelie278 so technically they arent even in the stone age yet. Their evolution is blocked by its environnement and the lack of minerals, especially rocks. Fascinating

You quote the action that’s Occurring but then fail to actually quote the part of the meme where someone is speaking . Massive punctuation fail lmao 😂😬
Wow the captain announcing to the crew to get ready for landing at the end reinforces that North Sentinel really isn’t so far away from modern civilisation.

This reminds me of all these "lost world" stories in books and movies where people find a hidden world untouched by civilization and isolated since prehistoric times. Wouldn't be surprised if there are some prehistoric animals thought to be extinct living on that island as well since no outsider could ever explore it.
Sal your are aware at how narrow minded and ignorant the rising sea levels climate change argument is right. Even if seas are currently rising at (x)rate there are so many unpredictable and uncontrollable variables that contribute. Such as, a major volcanic event, a cosmic event, polar shifts, solar events, etc. you need to leave the religion of climate science. It’s a business, they make money studying science, a job that most of the time costs a ton of money and yields no production. The best thing you can do for the climate, is to treat it the best you can everyday and encourage others to do the same whether they listen or not.
