Im confuse & im pretty sure you wont answer but if someone can help a rican out so og is the real ones and air 1 retro are made by nike aka a knock off version & what are jumpman are they made by nike and are air 1 retro & jumpman real jordans or good to have can someone look out
@@anthonymontemagni0p160It’s cause highs have better color ways. Why can’t y’all nail it in your head it’s just because of the height. Also, that less than 2 inch difference makes it look WAYY better
@@anthonymontemagni0p160 I don't have a hate so much as a a preference...highs just feel better, the tongue is way more comfortable (for me at least), and the materials are just better. but at the end of the day, rock what you like 🤷♂️ I have some mids I like, and some Lows I wear regularly
I love the Retro's! Wish they'd put higher quality leather on them, to compliment the already premium look and feel. I have 2 pairs of retro's, crazy comfortable.
I like the OG Low because I think it does look better. I don't get any 'nostalgic' vibes from it because I wasn't even born yet when the model came out lol.
I know the OG is better quality and gives a more nostalgic vibe but I'm with the retros simply because I think they look better...I have both OG & Retro but I prefer the retros overall
I still try the recent OG mocha (my first j1 low) but my theory (before touching them) is that 'half size down' is ok only for OG with 8 holes and bigger swoosh. Like previous OG (shadow 2015 for example) or all recent Travis Scott J1 Low. These recent Low OG are a sort of hybrid (always 'in my opinion before touching them') between the 'old' 8 holes OG and these 'jumpman tongue' J1 low.
For whatever reason, the og lows from 2015/2016 looked more true to the original 1985 ones with 8 eyelets instead of 7 as well as the bigger swoosh. Not really sure why the more recent og lows got changed.
My favorite Disney movie was the Fox and the Hound which gives away my age but hey, I also rocked OG Js as they released. Had 2 Chicagos and 1 Royal Toe all in the mid 80’s when my love affair began. Passed on the 2s but was blown away and in love 😍 with the 3s and 4s even before they released as my friends and I would skate to sneaker stores and drool at Nike catalogues of what was coming out next year: Flights, Command forces, Barkleys, Air Techs, Maxes, Trainers, Bo’s and ACGs
I have both and yes low Og’s are better but retros have a better value right now.. those royals are around $200-$220 and the light smoke greys are around $250-$275 but with the lower retail the retro wins the value argument
@DNASHOW DAMN-! DJ! Another education for me! I have OG Low’s as well…Dunk Low’s, SB’s. I appreciate the quality of both…they both feel comfortable especially after wearing my Jordan 5’ or 4’s, yea, I can chill in either my shoe brother! This made sense. BUUUUT how come some of the OG lows have the retro name in it? Like my black toes I ordered. It's the OG with all the features here talked about but has the retro name in the title as well.
They both dope. I like the Retro it has the Jumpman logo on the tongue but i hate big and long tongue That’s why i prefered the OG because of the small tongue i felt like it’s easy to paired with my chinos.

@@alexh8503 yeah, i suppose these recent OG are a sort of 'almost' OG. Real OG seems to be more 'big' (like shadow 2015 or travis), and for these the 'half size down' rule is good. But, these recent OG seems more narrow. i still not sure at 100% because i still try a recent OG (mocha 2024), but this is my opinion.
Another thing to keep in mind between the ‘85 lows and the retro OGs that dropped 15/16 is the extra lace hole, bigger toe box and larger swoosh. JBrand has been using the older design with extra lace hole etc on the Travis lows. But yeah definitely OGs over retros for me.
I knew it. I noticed this when I compared my J1 Low Triple White pair with my friends J1 Travis Low OG pair. Low OGs have "softer" leather and much more comfy to wear compared with the Non-OG.
Thanks for vids like these….I have been recollecting my favorites and new loves for several years and never knew the differences….I’m old so but bed knobs and broomsticks was a movie well before my time but it’s one of the few Disney movies I own and if it ever comes on tv, I gotta watch it.
Not only is the swoosh bigger and true to the OG on the Travis, but they also have the correct number of lace holes, 8 vs 7 on the GR Jordan 1 Low OGs.
I only have 1 retro low. I plan on getting 1 og low. Material is that low quality almost synthetic leather on the retros. They do have a dunk vibe. If you’re going to buy mids and lows I’d suggest going se route. Don’t ever let anyone tell u what’s hot and what’s not. Wear what u like
@@rintomura2025 yes. If you’re going to get a Jordan 1 retro make sure it’s og, sp, se. Those are better quality than the Jordan 1 retro. Jordan 1 retros I would compare to gr Nike dunk pandas
i’ve owned retros over ogs for years cause i’m not a fan of ogs but it really only goes down to the box the rear logo and tongue because on older retros the cut is exactly the same as ogs and some new depending what colour way and from personal use and abuse to retros the leather is very similar and when the leather creases it doesn’t crack i may be wrong but personally unless the ogs are a collab like the zion williamsons or the travis scott’s i don’t see a difference
I prefer the one with a higher tongue Since Im short, its hard for me to pull off a high or mid So by the higher tongue of the retro And wearing a tight jeans, it creates an illusion of me wearing a high
As far as Disney movies. It's a three-way for me, between Aladin, Lion King,( had to watch in the movie theater in order to go see B.I.G.😀) and lion king 1and a half.
I thought the video was very interesting and how you broke it down between the differences of the two shoes. I am thinking for now on I will target the ones with the Nike air on them. Again video and presentation was 👍🏿👌🏿
The TS x frag low is a true OG cut. It has the wide toe box & also has 8 lace holes. As the new OG lows have the thinner toe box like the retros & also have 8 lace holes.
The 21/22 AJ 1 OG low are not actually the OG. If you look at Travis 1 low fragments for example, the TS one has 8 eyelets and a bigger regular swoosh, whereas the neutral grey 1 low OG has only 7 eyelets and the swoosh is more smaller like the modern days of jordan sneakers we have been getting. My guess is that JB wants people buy into hype to get the OG form of shoe which is slick of them. It is what it is....
Me personally, I would never wear a Jordan 1 with Jumpman branding. The jumpman did not exist when the Jordan 1 released in '85. To me, it just dosn't look right. Thats just my opinion and my vibe. Thanks for the vid!
Eyyy men you missed to say the position of holes in OG and retro theyre not the same and yup agree that og has much good quality in material but retro are too much good lookin than OG OG is like yall lookin at dunks thats why...
The OGs reflect an SB presentation more than the retros. But I get what you saying. Also retros can come with an extra pair of shoe strings as well. The extra strings don’t make or break OG or retro difference. The only true difference is box, material quality, toe box cut, rear logo tab/height & tongue. Pricing difference is only $15-$25.
