white cement will never get beat when it comes to the 4's, breds are durable, but white cements are the grail. literally THE grail.

the material on the new 2019 black cements are flimsy and a much more synthetic to the 2016 wc4's....in all aspects....the 2019's will not age as well do to the materials.....but you can't go wrong with either one...I got both pairs....

@@bradshaw1623 I just grabbed a cooked pair of 2016 WC4‘s for 50 bucks, threw them in the washer, got some new laces and did a little touch up on the paint and I swear they could pass as worn less than 10 times just judging the upper… Probably the sturdiest pair of sneakers I‘ve ever owned

the breds are better in my opinion, that black and red never gets beat bro. The black upper is suttle and not so visable as the cements and I like that

I feel both are essential to the wardrobe; the two can substitute the need for a vast majority of other retros and non boost/react like sneakers. The white cements are more for during inclement tweather due to the leather construction. With that being said, the bred 4’s just hit differently for some reason. It’s one of very few retros that pops subtly. If i had to choose, probably the breds but having both really satisfies and quells the want to get other shoes.

I think for what you'll pay to have both pairs, I'd go with something that's a little more life style oriented like some unions. haha don't want to dress up like i'm about to drop 50 in the Garden.

Damn!! Its a tough one I own a pair of breds, but the WC (both 3s and 4s) are the best jordans in the entire jordan line (my opinion).

Breds last longer but imo the white cements grew on me. White and black shoe and I can wear it with my trousers and they look hella clean. But love the breds. Just wc4s for me. I pair them with my white rick owens jeans and LV letterman jacket black n white n LV belt 🔥

Cement is technically the shade of gray. So the breds are also black cements. People think the splatter paint means cement, but old school cement is just a shade of gray. food 4 thought, lol. It's why the black cement 3 is referring to the color of the tongue, not the elephant print.

Kurt Asa We know that, however, the 4 specifically introduced “cement print”. Tech Grey is the shade of grey used for the 3, 4, and 5, but you don’t hear people call a 5 cement, unless they’re referencing the White Cement Retro 5. I refer to the Black/Red 4 as the Breds because it doesn’t have the iconic “cement print”. But I still refer to both 3s as cements, the white and black respectively. I just feel like Jordan Brand could release a version of the 4 with that white switched with black at anytime, so I remain cautious in case we ever see a black Air Jordan IV with “cement print”.

@@darnayblue3081 Right on. I wouldn't mind it if Jordan brand did an elephant print toe/mudguard on the 4 like Tinker's concept sketch had. Would've been neat to see the texture at least on there, like the elephant print on the fire red 4's how it was there but subtle, unlike the Black and white Cement 3's. That ship has probably sailed since they are done with Tinker releases for now....I agree with your comments and explanation about "cement" and it's very nicely explained. I know what you mean about the cement print. Especially after they released that AJ5 and called it "cement." and yeah the gray on the white cement 4s is actually tech gray and a bit lighter than the gray on the bred 4.... I wonder what the 1988 boxes said for the colors? They probably weren't as specific, but I've never seen the OG box label from the original release. If I recall though, back in the day everyone called the black pair of 4's the Black Cement 4. The Bred 4 thing is somewhat new. Anyway, great observations and response to my comment.

The best Jordans I've owned. I was able to get those Breds on black Friday and they were my only present for Christmas. I got the whites in April 86 for my birthday and then the 5s dropped in White like a month after.

cool vid bros.....I got 2 pairs of the 2016's wc4's...and I got my 1999 wc4's sole swapped..I finally got the 2019 black cement....the material on the 2019's is cheap and flimsy plastics....the 2016's has sturdier material....but the 1999 wc4's material is not even comparable....the leather is still crisp on the 1999's......but you can't go wrong with either....the black are always special to me since they were the first pair of J's I ever owned...I wear a size 13 mens and don't mind having big feet hahhaha...good stuff bros

For me when I was younger before I could afford to start collecting the WC4 always caught my eye and attention more and the 2016 White Cement 4 OG retros were the first pair of Jordan’s in my collection in 2017, brand new resell for $450 The BRED 4 always caught my eye and interest too but not as much as the WC4 . Then the BRED 4 2019 came out and once I bought them, resell unfortunately yet somehow fortunately at the same time 😅 unfortunate that I couldn’t buy them retail on release and fortunate that I could get a resell pair not long after release for not too high Anyways after I actually owned both and had them in my hands (not worn yet lol they were too precious) the BREDs immediately became my favorite Jordan’s and I’d say favorite shoes of all time to this day. Kept both my first pairs deadstock and literally copped slightly used pairs of each to actually wear cause I need to have my cake and eat it too lol

How's the padding around the ankle area on the white cement? Ik many jordan 4s have a really thick ankle padding whereas my bred 4s don't which I love as it doesn't make the shoe seem as bulky as the rest.

Fat Kid They released in 2016 buddy. I remember getting my first pair about a week after they released from Finishline. I later got my 2nd pair in January of 2019 for my birthday, they were $350. If a shoe like a 4 was released 3 or more years ago, they’re going to drastically increase in price and continue to escalate. Your best bet is to either pull the trigger and buy them now, or just sit tight and wait for the next rerelease. It’s an OG colorway, so the 2016 supply might dry up soon.
