In this video, I will show you how I find a good spot to air layer to create a good small, medium, and large Japanese Maple bonsai trees quickly. It's great to see people performing air layer technique but often they are air layering a trunk/branch that looks like a straight stick & dont know what to do with it. Once you train your eyes to find a good spot to air layer, you can instantly create a great bonsai with good base, thickness, and movement.

Thanks! I do mine in late Spring once leaves are hardened off. Some people do it early Spring with good success as well. Good luck!

Hi is it okay to airlayer over a node? And when is the best time to start the airlayer

I think it's ok but preferably over a trunk or branch so you can get the roots evenly from all directions. I do mine in May/June (late Spring) but know people having success doing it in March as well (early Spring).
