I've had a great experience with AirLift. In 2005 I bought my first set of in-coil bags and they worked flawlessly until I sold that truck. In 2012 bought a new set of Ride Control bags for my Silverado and ran them for nearly 8 years without a single problem. Recently I noticed one bag was losing air. I think years of offroading at the beach may have caused some additional wear from sand. In any event, I reached out to Airlift to see if the warranty would cover me. Three days later I received a box with two brand new air bags so that I could replace both sides. Painless process. Can't wait to install them.

I had the Firestone bags, and their wireless controller, it worked about 10% of the time! I replaced the wireless controller with the Air Lift wireless controller system, IT WORKS PERFECTLY.

I've had both on my truck (2015 Tundra) and can comfortably say that the Firestone's ride much better than the Air Lifts that I had previously. The Air Lifts stiffened up the ride while the Firestone ride was barely noticeable. I ran the minimum 5 psi on both.

Ok, I’ve had both for two different Dodge Grand Caravans so this is for the 1000 pound rated bags. The airlift bags for my van were taller filling up more of the spring. Maybe 2 inches taller not sure exactly. I think Firestone does this intentionally to provide a smother ride. With that said I don’t want a smother ride, I want the rear lifted when loaded up. The bags seem of similar quality but the Firestone has push fittings where tge Airlift uses tension springs and those rust from road salt.

Indecisive or Undecided -- Pick one or the other. Undecisive is NOT a word. I believe undecided is the better term. In general Indecisive is a behavioral trait versus a person that is undecided because they don't have adequate data points to make a decision. Also, the video offers no meaningful data. Perhaps in the future you can offer more insight into the strength and weaknesses of each when applied to various use-cases. Thank you.

I went with Air Lift because of the warranty. The only issue I had was that the two bolts that go thru the bottom mounting bracket and into the airbag base itself, pulled completely out of both sides the 1st time my truck was on a frame type lift , as compared to a drive on type lift. The base on the airbag itself is plastic , not metal. They drilled that base and put brass inserts into the holes for the bolts to go into. When the axle dropped down when the lift was raised, the bolts, with the inserts attached , pulled completely out on both sides. I called AirLift and they sent me new bags and all the hardware needed , at no cost. I have since cut to lengths of chain with with s hooks . I wrap the chains over the frame then drop them down under the leaf spring and and hook it back into itself. The manual says u can let the axel hang down for a short time , I don't recommend letting the axle drop , I only had the tires rotate and the bolts pulled loose in that short of time. The parts were replaced free, but my labor is not. I like the system , I put 11,000 miles pulling a trailer last year with no issues.

Were you running the correct shocks for your make and model? In most cases the shock is the only limit to extension.

In order to keep the rear axle from dropping down too far and puling the bolts out of the bags, I have a piece of chain for each side that I throw over the frame rail and under the leaf spring and connect with a snap on each chain. It is somewhat of a pain in the butt, but it's a heck of a lot easier than replace the air bags.

Bad experience with Air Lift bags, 5500 type on my 4x4 2500HD. They (6 inch diameter) were too short, and when the truck was jacked up, they eventually pulled apart. Went to cheaper 8 inch bags and have much better results since they are taller. The 8 inch bags fit onto my Air Lift mount kit , without using the round plates.

Hi, I have a question if I think well. My pickup truck has abody on the front 2 inches lower than the back. I want to use 2 inch spacers, then the body will be horizontal. But the car is for work (not for strengthening my EGO) and will carry tools and sometimes materials. If I use the air helper on the rear suspension after loading the tools (ca 200-300 pounds) I will be able to level the body again, which will decrease. If I load additional materials and the body will drop again. I will be able to increase the pressure in the air helpers and again have a horizontal body. Is this the correct reasoning?

I have a 3 1/2 inch front coil spacer, will the front air spring work with my F250? I noticed about 3/4 inch of spring sag in the past year in my lift. I mostly commute with my truck, and I want to add a winch bumper. So can I get my inch of sag back with the new bumper? Thanks

Installed Firestone ride rite air bags with compressor and dual switch to keep air from flowing back and forth between bags when excursion turns. had been on truck since 2007 for approximately 175,000 miles so far. Of these miles I have pulled camper with 1,000+ lb tung weight over 32,000 miles from GA to NV and over Rockies. I have also pulled horse trailers. Only issue has been compressor. It has gone out twice. Other than that it has been a great product.

+Marty Johnson how is the ride quality with the bags when you are not hauling a trailer? My dad just bought a regular cab 06 duramax with bags on it and it rides terribly on gravel roads compared to our other 06 duramax. Only problem is that we do not know what kind of bags they are. Their also fully deflated and ride rough.

I bought airlift bags. Didn't realize there was a different choices. I ended up unknowingly getting the bags with internal jounce bumpers. Very unpleased. TERRIBLE ride when unloaded. The whole back end of my truck will bounce around over large humps or bumps in the road. Very very rough. Not at all happy with them. Had I known I could get the bags without the internal bump stop I would've. Even with 10psi is the bags, the bump stops do not allow my suspension to properly react to the road. I'll be removing my bags and possibly trying ones without bump stops but this kind of ruined wanting to have these overall.

Installed Air Lift 5000 lbs ultimate 4 days ago with the wireless one air compressor unit on my 08 Ford F150 FX4. So far so good. Will be heading to Dallas from El Paso to pickup my camper, more to follow. Air Lift has a $75 rebate and with the compressor another $75. So that's what sold me.

I have both firestone and air lift, like them both, only problem is I have had to replace the bags on the air lift every time the truck is raised on a lift as it pulls the mounting bushings out of the bag. dont have that problem with the firestone. We have 6 chevy diesels running air ride.

I've ran both. Basically the same, you won't notice a difference. You only need airbags if your hauling allot of weight, and they only make your truck ride rougher.

Weight Distro hitch first install to level out and use air bags to even out. U will be surprised of what 35 psi can do for suspension. Think of ur tires on the road with no air, and having 35 psi in air. Best scenario I can give you.

I can't believe you people are you serious definitely help me decide which springset I need for my truck haven't trusted Firestone since the Ford roll over issue for those who remember that I've read in the comments about Firestone bag shredding I don't know about that thousands and thousands of trucks out there with Firestone bags on them however all I want is the bags so what he said was your application will determine which brand you get his opinion or they are equal in quality so for my application going to do some shopping around determine which set of bags will fit my truck more correctly

Robert Atwood read up on the Ford/ firestone debacle. It was a Ford/ driver issue. I believe Car and Driver did a very decisive test that bears it out.

+Amur Almarhoobi Air bags can be applied to both, as long as you don't have other suspension components (usually aftermarket) that may get in the way

I bought an air lift, wish I had bought something else. Instructions say 2 hr. to install, a out ridge lie. I called to make sure I got right kit, was told I did. I basicly have to assemble truck around air bags. Then told I’d need to drill even this it’s a no drill kit. I would not recommend to anything other than a cab and chassis

well I have had nothing but problems with my firestone lift, I bought the full kit with duel interior gauges and tank. First solenoid went then lines where leaking then repeat over and over. This system leaks all the time and have had airbags completely unravel wires hanging out of the bags. I currently have leaks again, this system was installed by a certified installer. I would never buy this system again from Firestone, I'm currently looking at Pac Air systems. Don't buy Fire stone unless u want problems

Firestone. With Firestone you can manually or by your app change the spring pressure. And in just a flip of a switch you can switch between race mode, drag, haul, regular, and others. It made a stock 2500 cummins faster than a fully moded drag car. Look up some videos about it. My dad works for Firestone air ride.

Company does not answer their phone also don't answer emails so as a result I had to shop elsewhere. Trust me I tried several times over a period of several days. Not cool. Firestone offers 7,500lb kit

Firestone does not stand behind their products. I know this first hand. My firestone bags are leaking and the wireless system quit working. Firestone refused to acknowledge that the pressure sensors are faulty and said the fix is that every time the sensor failed they would send another one. I am on my third one now. Scott the engineer/designer screwed up on this one big time. I will never use Firestone again. I am removing the system and installing Air Lift. I have used Air Lift in the past and was satisfied. AIR RIDE is definitely the better product.

I have a 2016 F-250 4x4 I had a mechanic put a 7500 air lift system on nothing but problems first the remote wouldn't sink second the original set of airbags one leaked and it took four more airbags to find one that didn't went from California to Washington pulling a fifth-wheel max weight 10200 lb and my system is leaking I am back in California my truck is in the shop to find out what's leaking the airbags or the airlines if it is airbags I'm changing to Firestone. with my truck parked with only my hitch in the back I put 20 lb of air in the bags I lose 8 pounds of air in a 24hrs. When my gauge get below 10 lb my compressor would come every hour to keep it at 10 lb of air as of now I am not happy with this system good luck with yours

@@jeffthrower4981 I actually decided to install the 5000 lb Firestone Ride Rite bags myself in my 2017 Ram Laramie 4X4. No leaks. No issues at all. I didn't install an on-board compressor because I have a quality Viair 12V compressor that works well for me. I actually wanted to get the 7500 lb Firestones simply for the heavier commercial rubber in the bags, but I couldn't find anyone saying the heavier bags justified the higher cost on a pickup application. I went with the Firestone Ride Ride 5000 lb #2580 kit and I am fine with it so far. The only issue I had installing the bags was the u-shaped plate the goes over the lower jounce block was not bent enough to fit over the block. Some minor bending was required on both the passenger and driver side. The rest of the kit fit perfectly. Sorry you are having problems with the Air Lift product. I was skeptical of their design and I am glad I didn't go with them. Leaks looked inevitable to me with the endcap/hoop design. They sell a lot of them so they must be proven to be good, but it sounds like you got a bad one............ sorry.

I had Timbrens on the truck for 2 years. When hauling they still allow some degree of squat under load which threw off the headlights enough to make on-coming drivers mad. The truck drove quite well under load, no sway and only a bit of porpoising over bumps, but they also created a harsh ride with no load. When empty, the truck engaged the joust bump stop on almost every bump which was really harsh. I haul heavy loads of hay on a flatbed trailer with this truck, and with the Ride Rites I can now level the load perfectly. I also pull an Outdoors RV 21FQS trailer that is about 7500 pounds wet and I'll be perfectly level now. I bought the Timbrens to avoid the hassle of airing up the springs, but I found the ability not to have to air up was too big a trade-off in ride. I now see air bag maintenance is not that big a deal, and now I can tune it perfectly for the load I am pulling. @@jeffthrower4981

7 yrs later I wouldn’t touch ride ride with a 10 foot pole. Problem, they leak. Firestone has been on our dodge truck for 10 yrs. why? Firestone is metal and does go to shit after a few yrs. as a truck and coach technician there is no such thing as air ride. Firestone is a pro when it comes to air bags and cabin air bags.

This video was worthless. I can tell you by reading the testimonials, the real testimonials, for both that the firestone comes out ahead repeatedly. I personally was very biased towards air lift but after I heard repeatedly that users had issues with the bag staying inflated because of a poor design with the inflation valve I decided to go with firestone. You should’ve stated this.

Don’t buy the 5000 Ultimate! The internal jounce is a horrible ride when unloaded, even with zero pressure.

RuhRoh...the jounce would be at its very worst at zero pressure as it would make the jounce your only support if the springs are sacked out. I hope you do not have a Excursion and you are speaking about the front as I just ordered a set.

Do not even buy bolts or nuts or washers from SD truck spring. They are absolutely the worst outfit you can purchase from. They have crap for customer service. They don't communicate with you. I've been waiting for over a month just for spacers for some airbags and I can't get anyone on the phone or to give me a real email. Just robot emails. SD truck spring absolutely sucks. I need to be put out of business
