This video was kinda getting back to the old Fowler. I really do miss the 30 day survival and 7 day challenges. Hopefully there is some new ones to come in the future
Also guys Fowler is the one managing their RU-vid channels, editing, and all the other extra stuff. He probably even gave them the idea of doing a thirty day survival challenge. So your basically saying Fowlers work is garbage. Wow.
Shot a porcupine the other day here in SE Alaska. On the musky smell- they have a scent gland on their back called the rosette which helps 'train' wild animals to equate the peculiar porcupine smell with the pain of quilling, so that after a first encounter they are unlikely to do it again. I've found you can irreversibly spoil the whole carcass by getting this scent oil on the meat, so I typically only harvest the front and hind quarters without trying to skin the back, where they don't really have much meat anyways. Thanks for another great video 👍👍
Don't get me wrong I love mostly all the videos Fowler puts out. But the last several have been very boring and not much of what Fowler is known for. He needs to get back to his roots, the 30 day team and 7 day solos were really great just look at the view on the old videos
@@stevencarver5310 I’m glad u said it I said it last video and got bashed😭😭 I’ve rewatched all his survival challenges 3 times there’s so many cool ideas I can think about that would be perfect content if he was more consistent his videos would do numbers but he waits 2 weeks sometimes to drop a video

I liked that Maple Woodobo so much, that when it became out of stock at your online store, I bought a 2lb sack of maple sugar and a bunch of the regular Woodobo and mixed my own.
Hey Zack how's life? You are such an amazing survivalist you and Outdoor boys are the only 2 I refer to for hunting , fishing and trapping. I have learned soooo much from you and Luke that one day my goal is once I retire my wife and I are gonna live the remainder of our lives in the woods with nothing but handcrafted home, livestock, garden and whatever else my lord and savior has blessed us with. One day on my bucket list fine sir is to have the pleasure to meet you and all whom are on your team. Especially I would love to meet Chris. What a cool guy he is. Is seems like so much fun to hang out with. You sir seem like so so much fun to hang out with to. And hey ya never know I might look into a small plot in your area. You friend and follower: Chris Crawford.
Speaking of flies , I like to whip finish a loop on the bottom of those quills and then use em as stealthy strike indicators ( that's a snobby way to say bobbers in front of worm dunkers) . For heavier nymphs several quills can be used simultaneously. Tight lines 👍
Honestly amazing content i subscribed a long time ago but wasn’t that into the videos (because i fish strictly saltwater) but after watch more and ur outdoors videos i’m FREAKING ADDICTED. I LOVE THIS CHANNEL i can’t WAIT for the next video
That analogy / saying with the glass half full or half empty got me thinking. Keeping it humble because thats how you were raised. That was spot on Zach. Thank you for that and all your videos you post. P.S. I'm going to try those sprouts next with my Aeroponics setup :)
After watching you fight that ladder, I could not help but think how much you had to use your core to complete the task. I just hope you use a chiropractor to stay loose and strong for all your adventures!
I found some quills one time so I washed them, clipped the tips, soaked them in dye and attempted to make crib pegs by encasing the colored quills in epoxy.
I harvested some quail once in Arizona that was full of worms. I cleaned it really well and it was delicious. cook it the same as you would a wild pig. good eats.
Great video, as always! I think You should try making a dark gun with those quills as the points, or maybe even as the entire dart. Years ago my uncle got a porcupine that was eating at his garden, he saved almost every thing he could, I even have a paw he cured like a rabbit foot, the quills fit in a .177 pellet gun perfectly, and shot with a surprising amount of accuracy. We did all sorts of stuff with them, the most notably was we cut open a glow stick, mixed the two parts, and injected it into one of the quills, when they hit anything hard the burst like a paintball, we wanted to know what would happen with a soft target, but we didn't have anything, couldn't afford ballistic gel online, and didn't know you could make it, maybe you could see what it'd look like?
Very nice ..I also have some 25 cal airguns they are nice to hunt small and medium sized game..the tree fort is nice too.. survival at it's best ..I live in s fla actually in cape coral I went through the eye of hurricane ian any how plenty of game here like squirl ..iguana..possum..wild pigs ..bull frogs ect... I use a customized electric kayak to go from the beaches and salt water islands up the river and inland hunting the banks of the fresh water for deer and hogs you have inspired me to make a video thanks for your video
this is what iam looking for to your vlog sir❤❤❤ this kind of adventure. iam a fan seens 2019 and iam so happy you are back in the wild lots of love from my country PH🇵🇭
I really like stringy tender meat. You could have used them quills as a toothpick! Win win buddy! Kids will be kids, my daughter would do the same. God bless brother hope to see you around Maine sometime.✌️
Your family’s reaction to the remnants of your adventure is about the same as my family 😆 Get back from an epic trip and they’re like that’s cool and all, but go take a shower and let’s go to Chic fil a…
Add a little bacon fat to the porcupine and it really helps soften it up. Keep it on a low heat. For the time you had..... I don't know what I would of done for that short period.... options were few. I'm always impressed by your fire building skills. I always have a little trouble.
Use the quills in traps. Make a blow dart. Make poisoned / tranq darts. Even if it doesn't kill the animal you can drug it and collect it when it falls asleep.
I'm a fan of both you and Greg n I would like to suggest that maybe a calendar of Finn and Greg and cups shirts for helping Greg Owen out would be cool to see stuff to order and you both together also just wanted you to know I'll buy. Just ordered your dobo ...
