This is really lovely shooting with a great spring rifle. As much as I know you enjoy hunting with FAC PCP, it is very satisfying to a spring rifle hunter like me to watch a fine shot like you, hunt with the same rifle I have!. My HW97KT seems to love Bisley Magnum 4.51mm head-sized pellets too! Thank you for such informative narrative and superb sportsmanship in your films sir.

Get another good hunting vid. You always come thru on that. .177 are good pellets to hunt with. Although I recently upgraded from a springer .177 to a nitro-piston .22, which I'm still breaking in and fine tuning. As always I look forward to your next video. Happy hunting.

Well doves are protected in N.Ireland but for the wood pigeons i decoy them down to a field that i know they are feeding in with plastic decoys and shoot them from a hide. This takes lots of patience and practice as you could be sitting many hours to shoot at a very small target.

The most popular pattern is ether a U or V shape roughly facing into the wind. The birds should land in the hollow at the middle of the pattern.

The problem is the harvester starts by going around the fields verges so it has enough room to turn before it starts going up and down, that means that no matter which side you pick you will always have to shoot over the first 3-4 rows of straw.

Nice bit of sport mate, good to always see the misses, we had abit if a prob last trip at one point we couldn't see where the poi was with .22, after a while we realized the rifle had hit its sweet spot but that cost us a few rats!

I was having some problems reading the wind that day as it always looked calmer than it was.

I think David actually shoots with shotguns and powder burner rifles, but he just films the airrifle stuff, which is more entertaining and teaches us his excellent fieldcraft skills.

Maybe you could make a video on how to prepare and clean a wood pigeon for eating? Good video man!

It really depends on the area you are hunting as you want to try and match the cammo pattern to the the area and time of year, autumn patterns for autumn colors, snowy patterns for snowy weather etc. I live in an area where it is very green in spring and summer so i like cammo patterns with lost of green in it. But no matter what cammo you wear if you don't move slowly and take your time stalking you'l stand out like a sore thumb anyway.

Well its actually the HW97KT Synthetic but that's a real mouth full and its the same rifle in the different stock anyway.

It really depends on how things are going for me at the time. If the birds are still coming down i'l sit as long as i can,. I have sat as long as 8 hours at times but usually after 4-5 hours the birds lose interest and i pack up. This time the weather got the better of me though.

If you have woodland areas you might have birds roosting there at night, have a look to see if there is any dung on the ground under the trees to show were the birds roost at night.

In Northern Ireland you can buy and hunt with an air rifle so long as you have it put on your firearms licence for sporting use.
