Running well with a 180€ yong heng clone for 3 years now. I needed to replace piston seals once, but that is it. Works brilliantly with some drying tubes attached.
Like many people before me, I have to say top notch job on the production. Very thorough and you hit all the marks on the technicals of what a video should be like, thank you.
I'm a sponsored long range centerfire guy and have been heavy in to PCP airguns for a very long time.. I LOVE YOUR CHANNEL, your video style is the best plain and simple you my friend are awesome to watch and your voice is perfect for your video style.
Thank you very much for thinking so... Means a lot. I'll keep working to grow the channel so long as the sponsors are down. P.S. I like FE RC boats the way you like quads 😉. Thanks for watching. Steve
Another great video Steve, not just for novice air gunners but for anyone who’s considering a new air source. I’ve been looking at compressors for a while and have been steered every which way by knowledgeable people with their opinions of the “best” option. I’m really liking the Super Charger more and more. Thanks bud! Stoti
I am quite a distance from getting my first rifle, but you have given me a comprehensive intro to refilling peripherals. Such an entertaining, professionally done video!
Bro that was amazing your video editing and narration are synchronized in harmony . Your Brilliant !!!! You seem to capture what we're thinking all along during the video, and then you make the comments and side notes on the screen and more enough then enough times it's exactly what I'm thinking 👍🏼. Thank you :)
As a SCUBA diver I would like to warn you about the danger of putting an air tank vertically. We always lay it down, so it cannot fall over and break off the valve. If that happens you are in big trouble, 300 bar escaping at once is not a joke.
Great video. Fortunately I only have to fill my pcp to 200 bar which is pretty easy with my gunpower stirrup pump and 200lb frame. Still, you are right, as a man that Daystate compressor has a definite allure.
So well done, wow. Very impressive with a Ton of info to boot. Thank you! I purchased a Daystate Huntsman Regal XL and an Omega 75 cu ft/4500 psi tank from AOA. This is my first big step into the air gun world.
At 19:00 - the manual says DO let the cooling system run for 15 minutes or so after every use. This is a great compressor and as always, a great video, Steve. 👍👍
Steve, after looking at all the compressors available (and some we're still waiting for), I've decided - thanks in a big way to you and your excellent reviews - to purchase the Omega Super Charger from our friends at AoA. This over-sized 70 year old is finally getting to leave my Hill hand pump in the closet (YAY!) UPS is delivering later this afternoon; needless to say I'm excited! Thanks for helping me and everyone else in this sport to make smart and informed decisions!
I originally went with a springer due to the air thing. Got tired of having to hold the rifle a certain way and sold it to move to PCP. After watching this and thinking about it. I may just stick to 22lr.
I got a 9L 300BAR carbon fiber tank on Ebay for $125. It has a DIN300 valve and was manufactured in 2010, meaning it's good through 2030 - and it was just inspected in Feb 2016. I bought a $45 fill station adapter with a pressure gauge and I'm good to go. Saved $400 when compared to the tanks from Pyramydair. All kinds of sellers on Ebay selling old fireman tanks and I highly recommend checking them out. Such an upgrade to my hand pump and for less money!
Excellent video. I am planning to buy an AA S510 with a tank and your answered all the questions I had since this will be my first PCP system. Thank you for tanking the time to include so much great detail in this video
+Airgun Exploration & Advancement Channel Yeap all one package, and these are the major solutions you will have to deal with. Another excellent video. thx man
Steve you are awesome and AOA should be very happy with the quality of video you produce. I use to produce, shoot, edit my own TV show a few years back for my local ABC station. I can tell you have become a true professional at shooting and editing your videos. I know how many hours it takes to put something like this together and appreciate every little creative edit and special effect. So congrats on a great production and a very very informative and well thought content. AOA you should be proud of your relationship with this young man. He is doing your right. Congrats to you both and thanks.
T Shooter. Thank you... you make my eyes leak with words like that. Yeah, 14 months ago, when it all began for me, the average video took 40-60 hours total between looking for the right music scores, storyboarding, researching and testing the product, videoing, producing, etc. I kept a log and worked fast to see how quickly I could get each one done. Once I got on solid ground with all the gear, lightings basics, and software, I got faster... only to be self slowed down again as I challenged myself to improve technique and quality with each new production. Is that how it was for you in the beginning? As for this video... guilty as charged. I maxed out my efforts across all fronts and wound up with over 100 hours in it... about killed me, lol. But I feel like the airgun community and AOA deserve my best so there you have it. I'll continue to challenge myself & improve and with any luck, we'll continue to see better and better vids out of the channel. Many thanks for noticing friend. All the best, Steve
+Airgun Exploration & Advancement Channel The leaky eyes are probably just due to eye strain staring at the computer screens! lol. I do not doubt the hours you have put in. Only someone who has sat behind the edit station can really relate to the effort. I use to use Adobe Premier PRO with Adobe After Affects for my special effects. I'm sure they have better vertically integrated the applications since I used them but it was a pretty steep learning curve back then. Learning how to get the most out of the tools is half the battle and you always get better the more you learn and the better your production will look. It is fun though. Seriously though I think you are on par with any professional media production house out there. Actually Disney/Lucasfilm should be taking notice soon! Keep it fun for you, cause we are enjoying your hard work. Timelines are excellent, content is excellent, presentation is excellent, ok you do need to throw in a pretty girl every now and then....your wife busy? lol.
+T Shooter Yeah, learning the cameras and editing software has been challenging for me, won't lie. I could see the vision of what I wanted to do in my mind but didn't know how to get the PC to do it for me, lol... it was the source of more than a few grey hairs. That's all beginning to improve now. It's funny, I look at my work and compare to that of others and think to myself... I suck and have a long way to go, lol. I suppose it's kind of like looking in the mirror. You look different to everyone else than you do yourself. But thank you for liking the direction of the channel and it's productions... the nice words are encouraging. I'm taking the year off to make a go of making AEACs development a full time focus. Hopefully we'll look up in 12 months and there will be something to it. About the pretty girls... noted 😊. Steve
+Airgun Exploration & Advancement Channel Good for you! Wishing you the greatest of success! I had the same mirror, one suggestion if I may be so bold? Keep it fun for yourself and you will succeed. Oh and throw away the mirror. You got what it takes.
Just getting into airguns and I am glad I came across your video. It was perfect. I have about 25 SCUBA tanks that I plan on making into an air bank and cascade the air to one of the Omega tanks. Thanks so much for the effort in this video.
I love this video this was the most confusing part when I first started with PCP. I was afraid I would buy the wrong tank or connector etc and not be able to figure out what I needed. I didn't want to spend all that money and end up with something useless. I went the easy route with a .25 Marauder love that gun now I want an FX. I used the hand pump at first now I'm scuba powered and will never look back.
Wow, I've been thinking about having a small cabin because I could power/heat & cool it with propane and solar 12 volt. Looks like the 12 volt solar would allow the new compressors to function. Thanks for the information about this video!!!
Very cool video,Steve. You always bring real world info I can trust.I know this after years of listening to your reviews, then having a lot of spot-on ,similar experiences in which to compare and verify the information.I wish you the best in all your airgun endeavors.Best wishes, friend and thank you.
I love your videos. Great quality. I can watch them at full screen without losing any quality. I bought the Omega "Air Charger" and put an hour meter on it to keep track of run hours for maintenance purposes.
Thanks buddy. I love making them for us. They are very well suited to watching on television as they're shot in 1920x1080 HD. Congrats on your Omega. Best, Steve
As a middle aged man who has been a lifelong firearm and knife guy since age 5, I am just getting into high powered adult airguns. This PCP variety as I am finding out is a stupid expensive hobby. My first purchase was a Gamo Whisper Fusion Mach 1 in .177 cal. It impressed me with it's power and accuracy. You can jump through NFA Class III $200 license fees and ATF/FBI red tape to get a legal registered suppressor for your .22LR rifle. It takes 4 - 6 months to process. You can also walk into a Wal-Mart, or your favorite gun shop/sporting goods store and walk out with this with no paperwork or questions asked. You are paying dearly for that luxury however, and these guns and their accessories are stupid expensive. A couple grand for a tank and a special high pressure compressor? You can buy a new Marlin Model 60 .22LR rifle for $157.95 and a 500 ct brick of Remington Thunderbolts for $14.95 and walk out of that Wal-Mart after a 4473 and a FBI NICS for a hell of a lot less! A Ruger 10/22 standard carbine is about $210.95 also. So anyways....I am also thinking of getting a PCP air rifle. My research is kinda leading me to a Benjamin Marauder in either .177 or .22 cal. I don't need another "proprietary" caliber like a .25, .30, .35. The purpose of this air rifle is for "survival" and "bug out" situations where a standard firearm would not be the first choice. Ie shooting a rat or some other furry varmint inside your barn. Likewise for stoning a backyard pest in a urban area. As a lifelong firearm guy who lives and breaths it, I often get requests and calls to be a "exterminator" from time to time. Depending on where and when I pick what will be best to use. Fast forward to my new interests in adult airguns. Once I realized these things are no longer 100 - 400 fps toys that keyhole at any distance beyond 7-10 yards, I became interested. These are yet another viable option to have in your bag of tricks. To be clear my first choices to use for shooting varmints and pests are a good old fashioned .22LR rifle. More recently in the last 20 years is a .17 HMR. When you need to get the job done and not drop more money than your used fishing boat cost, these are your best options. I can see several thousand dollars wrapped up in a decent PCP weapon and all the gear you need to go with it. Keep in mind I'm not computer savoy and being a "nerd" or "techy" is not in my vocabulary or interests. I don't bank online and I don't have a smartphone even. My vehicles are a 1965 Ford Mustang and a 2002 Ford F-250 Super Duty. I don't use "gadgets" or technology there either. This is all new to me........ John
Nice!, comprehensive video. I know it took time t video and insert the graphics. Kudos to you "IF" you did it for the passion of air gun enthusiast. Either way it's totally comprehensive.
The dog looks just like the one we rescued several years ago. I mean the color the face.... He had a bad heart and when we had to put him to sleep I cried and cried. It was hard to loose him. He loved kids, he never met anyone he didn't like. He loved to take vacations with us. Take good care of him..... ;-)
I used the 'oldest' style tire-pump style for all my shooting. You left off the keep lightly lubricated-- all moving parts-- with silicone grease". I used it to practice shooting at elevated heart-respiration to simulate stress. I used to shoot a lot. An awful lot. And I have a brand new in the box Omega compressor. Saving up for another-- two sons. I'm getting the compressors to make shooting easier for my sons-- to hook them on shooting more quickly. Good video. Thanks.
+Airgun Exploration & Advancement Channel I'd love to be able to get another Omega, and then two of the Scott Air Pak 4500psi tanks. I did hate that tire pump style, but I sure got my exercise from it. There is a method to using it, you have to get your arms straight and let your body weight do the work.
+Airgun Exploration & Advancement Channel I have one, and am 'in the market' for another.... problem is, I'm not 'in the money'. I'm on social security, and I scrape my pennies up. Took a year for the first one, and I'm not quite halfway to the second.
+Mike Kemp it's a long story, Steve, but the short version is my type 1 diabetes wrecked my earning ability early, (nuke startup, nerve gas incinerator engineer, design engineer), and a divorce, and complications and such.... so I scratch to do things for my sons and their kids. One of them is a project for my 'grandkid fund'.... and I'm trying to get my energy level up to do some more audio books. The proceeds for these go to the grandkids..... www.audible.com/search/ref=a_mn_mt_ano_tseft__galileo?advsearchKeywords=Enemies+Trilogy&x=0&y=0
Many thanks for the production and simplicity you put in explaining these products I have a much better understanding of what i am getting myself to. And Ironically I am currently residing in Central Fl as all.
Man! I bet you have the brains to create your own Airgun company from scratch! Or deserve a high position working for FX or DAYSTATE, or something Your work is unique
+TrojanTMT I very much enjoy showing off their hard work. Perhaps one day they'll send a project for us. Thanks for encouragement and i'll see ya again soon. Best, Steve
Top review and reallly fills in the blanks. Expensive for sure but one needs to think in the long run, I guess it all depends on how frequently you shoot. For now i'll stick to the manual version...it's great workout also. Thanks !
Thanks for this video. You just saved me a ton of money. I've been really deep into fast electric Rc boats and wanted something else to get into. After seeing how much of a pain in the ass and expensive pcp air rifles are, no thanks. I was juuuust about to hit buy on a marauder, this just changed my mind. I'll stick to sprinters and nitro piston guns and when I need shoot something with multiple shots I'll break out my 10/22. I thought I'd be saving money by going to pellets. Ha!
BlackJack Might also be good to check out the more recent reviews of the two newer versions of those two compressors. I did that just a couple of months back and the video you're watching is a couple of years old 👍. Steve
Great video Steve loved it a friend of my was thinking about buying some type of air source to fill his Talonp I told him to buy a tank other friend told him to get a pump thanks for making this video now I can share it with him maybe this will help him make up his mind thanks buddy keep up the good work
+tony mann Hi Tony. Thanks for the nice words. I hope it does help your friend... that's just the reason why I have been wanting to make a vid like this. Like myself, people had questions. See ya again soon. Steve
Great video. very informative. One of these days I will eventually get passed the high cost of first getting into PCP airguns, til than I will have to stick to my break barrels.
Hi nice review in this vedio I have learned how to maintain a compressor and how to fill a Tank with compressor and so many thing thanks again Steve nice vedio as usual
dude this is the most perfect video on RU-vid voted by me ,you took time an went over every point of it all you should do dvds on this stuff starting with this vid just make show i get the first copy .....keep up the good work... heck i couldn't talk s💩t for maybe 3rd time on youtube 👍....5 star rating 🌟🌟🌟🌟🌟 test score💯
Awesome video! Thanks so much for taking the time and effort to produce a very, very helpful video. You've covered some of the more mundane aspects of airgunning with an extremely informative and professional quality production. There are tons of videos out there on the more fun and exciting aspects of the sport, but very few with this level of usable, practical advice. Thanks again! Subbed and Liked!
Great video and nice choices of what to highlight and the deliberate choice of changing background music was a good idea between the various options. I was aware of all the products already so to me the real highlight was the omega compressor really, and in particular the short breakdown on expected regular maintenance in operation. That's a thing most other sources of information skim over with just a "low maintenance" statement. It was high up on my wishlist already but based on that and not seeing too much bad rep on them around after they've been on the market a while I'm tempted to look into getting one eventually when it won't mean emptying my entire savings account. So for now the good old Hill handpump it'll be as primary source of compressed air. I often wonder how those daystate compressors hold up against the traditional workhorses in that size category like Bauer compressors which I've seen used for diving and such. Still torn between for example the Omega one or a used portable/semi-portable electric Bauer compressor, both are in about the same price range depending on model and condition for me. I also wouldn't mind the huge Dräger ones at the fire departments that I've seen while there to deal with some IT related trouble of their computers and air quality testing software, I'd love to have even just a fraction of that compressor equipment equipment or stockpile of carbon fiber tanks it's really neat stuff. A first stage compressor which fills up a tank larger than a typical bathtub to a moderate pressure which then gets up to the working pressure of the storage cylinders by the Dräger, those machines in operation are quite noisy but they tend to be in a room of their own a bit away from the fill stations so it's not too bad (when the doors are closed). Being in a room like that is a bit humbling when knowing what kind of energy is locked up in those bottles and fill lines along the wall. When I was there at the time there were about 50-60 tanks in wheeled crates ready to be shipped out after they returned from hydrostatic testing and were refilled there, it's quite a difference from the usual filling setup in a dive shop.
+Extra stuff Thanks Extra Stuff. I know the Bauer name... it's a good one. But if you check out Coltri's site www.coltri.com/, you'll see that they are everything Bauer is and more maybe. Agreed on being intimidated by the compressor room at the dive shop. I got in & out of there as fast as I could... not to mention it was deafening. Thanks for the comment. Best, Steve
I hope manufacturers chuck things at you left, right and centre to review. Got to be the best quality airgun productions on RU-vid! Well done. What's your background Steve?
+Mr. Airgun Thank you very much for thinking so. I hope they feel the way you do, lol. By trade I'm a COP, my BA is in Criminal Justice and Sociology. But over the past 12 years I've been in sales, sales training, management, inventory, manufacturing, marketing, etc... Thanks for asking. Best, Steve
Great instruction. A compressor will pay for itself eventually with the savings on gas ⛽ to the scuba shop and fill fees. At $15, 126 times or 3,780 gun refills...
just watched this video. as with your other videos Steve. very comprehensive and informative. maybe a list win would bring a compressor into ownership here. thanks again for your time in making these videos
Thanks Nick.. I'm glad new subs are making good use of vids like this. They should be timeless for a while. For me, I would say spring for a compressor if you live a great distance from a fill source or perhaps own an airgun that consumes a lot of air and you grow tired of waiting on the good folks at the scuba shop. Best, Steve
+billy bob Hey Billy Bob... thanks buddy. Yeah, I just wanted to answer for you guys all of the questions & apprehension I had before I got my hands on the lot and put myself through compressor college, lol. I'm glad you liked it. Steve
Thanks for this. When you were filling the scba tank with the super compressor, could you tell me what size (in litres) the scba tank is please? Cheers, Rich
A most interesting video. I've often wondered whether there was an alternative to the scuba tank fillers. You have just shown me the alternative. All the best from New Zealand. I've subscribed to your channel.
Hi Leo. Thank you and welcome to AEAC. I'm glad to have you with us. Like you, I had many of the same questions and thought others might want some answers too. Much more to come friend. Steve
I love airguns, from 22LR in my youth I've become obsessed with all types of shooting. I'll let you into a secret.. Best way to recharge and airgun... Bend.. Click... Done...
