if you're interested in a pair of these AC ducts to suit your 9" Android stereo like mine for your Abarth 595 or Fiat 500, please contact me at alexritchiedesigns@gmail.com.
Alex! I just installed your vent tubes and we couldn’t be any happier. So nice to have A/C blowing from the center of the dash again! Just in time for summer. I’m telling anyone who has this issue. Your product is genius. Fits perfectly. Thank you!
The absence of any kind of vent additions like what you’ve produced are the very reason I’ve not upgraded the system in my daughters car. Well done on making these 👏
Definitely very useful. Picking a stereo for these cars is a difficult choice if you want a screen. You are losing access to something with most solutions available. I also dont want to cut the original vents to fit in a stereo. This will help.
There are 2 versions of this 9” stereo and housing combination. Yours takes a “standard” 9” Chinese unit such as the Teyes, and has no way of ducting the air to the vents, another more common version comes with a slimline version of the stereo with the electronics perpendicular to the screen and a metal or plastic divider between the back of the stereo and the vent, they look totally identical from the front but quite different from the back. I like yours better if you have those ducts as it allows a wider range of options for the stereo. I fitted a Teyes unit to a VW Polo last year and was/am impressed with the brand, but 6 months later I fitted a much cheaper generic 9” with no brand and it was actually just as good, so I guess there is a bit of luck involved with generic models but Teyes is as close to a brand name as these units get.
You are right. It is always pot luck with these types of units. I’m no stereo expert. I research and ‘saabunleashed’ who does the stereo reviews on RU-vid gave the unit a glowing review…. so I went with that. You are right about the surrounds being different. The surround I bought though has the ability to do both a unit like mine and the ones that go perpendicular to the screen. It has all the brackets to do both. A few people have converted their ‘square faced’ surrounds to one like mine so that they could get the ducts as well.
Kudo's to you sir! This is exactly the reason I have not attempted a stereo upgrade myself... I just couldn't bring myself to cobble up the air vent construction. Very well done.
Thank you. Very kind. If you do decide to go for it, I do now sell these. Contact me and I can pass on the information for all the parts required. Also a few other recommendations on different stereos from others who have bought these from me. All the best, Alex
Do you mind providing the link to this exact stereo? In addition, are you by chance making and selling those air ducts? I would be interested in purchasing a set from you.
Brilliant upgrade such a neat job i have resented change because of the ducting but your version is perfect How can I get them please and what is the link for the ali express surround its a nice one
Hi Picklesbuster, thank you for the kind words. Please email me at alexritchiedesigns@gmail.com. Please send me your address so I can provide accurate postage cost. All the best, Alex
Does the unit TEYES CC3 come with the bracket or are these separate orders? Please include links for each item Thx I also wish to get the ducts from you hence please advise when available from your side. PS: I have already posted but may have been removed as i included my email..... ooopps Thank you
Very good Video, but I have some quetions. Maybe you can help me with that. How can I make it work with the steering wheel? And do you used the microphone which is in the delivery?
Hi, make sure you have the correct CANBUS setting selected for the steering wheel controls. Might be worth trying a few different settings on the CANBUS to see if it works. I did install a new microphone to work with the stereo.
Hey, this is ingenious! Finally, a superb vent invention. Could you confirm if this is suitable for the lounge Fiat 500? I can see it looks the same, but want to make sure. I want to purchase everything you just fitted on your video, could you provide a list? I’m in the UK also. And, does it connect to the controls on the steering wheel? Thanks for your ingenuity on this 👏😊
Thanks! I don’t expect the response I’m getting. I’ll looking into manufacturing when I get back from holiday. Mine are just a one off. Would need to scope other business for Production. I’ll be in touch when I get back from holiday.
Hello, I am currently getting quotes for manufacture of the ducts. They are more expensive than I’d hoped. At the moment, realistically it’s going to cost around £80 to you. I am now looking to manufacturing in China. What I need now is an idea from you of how much you’d be willing to pay for these ducts? From there I can negotiate quality, delivery etc witch the firms. Ultimately I want to make this happen for everyone as I think it would be really cool. I do have a full time job and it was never my plan with this to set up a business. So ultimately if I can’t get the parts made at a price that works for people, then I’ll have to just can this and leave it as inspiration for people to do their own thing. I’ve set up and email address: alexritchiedesigns@gmail.com. If you could please email me with a ‘what you’re prepared to pay price’. I get all the feedback together and then find the common ground to negotiate with the supplier from there. I hope this all works out. Thanks for your support and positivity. All the best, Alex
Hello, apologies for not replying sooner. Please email me at alexritchiedesigns@gmail.com. I can arrange a sale through there. Apologies if you are one of my customers already. I’m getting so many messages it’s quite a lot to keep on top of. All the best, Alex
I'm looking upgrade upgrading my stereo and would like the information for the vents, the piece goes around the face of unit also the name of that unit . All finished looks GREAT 👍
Hello, so I personally haven’t other than some heavy duty Velcro. I would suggest maybe looking into T’EYES single din conversion kit. Probably a better option.
Hello Ran, I am just making sure I have the legal protection in place to protect my IP and ensure that people to not try and sell my parts anywhere. Once I have this in place I’ll sell the 3D file online and let you know. I am now down to £50 if I source the parts from China. Please reply to my email address and let me know if this works for you. All the best, Alex
Hi that looks amazing, I like the whole set up. How can I duplicate this and did you have any issues with the wiring for the steering wheel controls, and how can I get your duct extensions. Thanks
Hello! Sorry for the delay. For some reason the comments have only just shown now. I’m currently on holiday with the family. I’ll get into sorting this when I get home. Really glad you like the parts. I’ll be in touch in about a week.
Hi Robert, I’m still on holiday but though I’d give a bit more feedback. The head unit is from Teyes and is the CC3 unit. I contacted them and send pictures of the standard head unit. From there they were able to produce the plug and play wiring harness and canbus controller to ensure the steering wheel controls work. It all works fine. I would stress, just before I left for holiday we did suffer a dead battery which seems to be a common result from an android head unit install. It’s only really a problem if you leave your car for long periods, which I did that week. Never the less, not cool. Looks like it should be a simple wire switch to remove the BATT + wire from the canbus and replace it with an AAC wire so that the canbus only turns on with the ignition key. Once I’ve figured it out. I’ll do another video as these whole thing seems to have gathered traction, which I wasn’t really expecting 😂. As for the vents. I can provide a CAD file and you can arrange to get them 3D printed. Or I can look to get a load made as there seems to be a bit of demand already. Hope that helps. 😊👍🏻
Hi Alex, thank you for the information, I will start looking into it. Your conversion looks great, and your Abarth looks well looked after. I could get the vents printed or can buy them from you which ever is easier.I love my 500 and the radio upgrade would be great. Do you know if it supports a reversing camera ? thanks Robert.
Hi Robert, the Teyes CC3 does support a reversing camera. It’s a great bit of kit. I have one to install. I’d recommend going on their website and taking a look. They even do 360 camera kits if you wanted it. Happy to help out. I just need to double check the IP rights and copy right if I supply the CAD. I believe I’m covered. Do you have a 3D printer or would you out source it? These parts I have are SLA manufactured.

Hello, at present I am not releasing the STL file. I didn’t expect this to gain much traction. As it turns out, I had a lot of orders to make parts. As a result, I’ve put a lot of time and effort into being able to supply a product to people who have been buying them. For now, I wish to keep that IP safe, and sell the ducts as an item. I hope you understand. All the best, Alex
Hi Couple of quick questions , if that's ok 😊 Would you be able to let me know the make and model of the stereo? Where did you purchase the surround frame? And where can I purchase the 3D air vent duct and rough costings. Many thanks
Hello Phillippa, the stereo is a Teyes CC3. Just Google it and you’ll find them. The surround I got from Ali Express. 9” stereo facia” search on there should help you find it. I recently purchased this radio and have been dealing with the lack of ventilation. This is a great solution. Im also instrested in purchasing if you fabricate more. How do I jump on the list to order.👍
@@oliversoler21 thank you. Please email me at alexritchiedesigns@gmail.com with your address. I’m just getting another quote to see if I can get these made cheaper that the current quote which would then be cheaper for everyone. Thanks Alex
Hello Jess, I designed the ducts and a friend made them for me. I’m currently on holiday but when I get back I’m going to have to look into getting more of these made. I didn’t think there’d be that much interest in these, but it seems people are having the same thoughts about it as me. When I get back I can also provide a link to the facia. If you search in Ali-express (like a Chinese version of ESTY), you’ll find them on there. 9” stereo facia for Fiat 500 should do the trick. Thanks for looking.

Hello Jorge, I’m currently on holiday. I didn’t think they’d be as popular as they are. I’ve had a few reply’s about these now so I think I will have to look into manufacturing a few for sale. When I get home (about a week) I’ll look into it. I have no idea how much it will cost as I’ll have to get quotes. Glad you like them. Be in touch soon.

Hi Phoebe, have you had a look on the Teyes website under the FAQ section? They have a load of scenarios with answers and I’m sure there will be things to try on there. I’m sorry, I’m not really a stereo wiz. I’m a design engineer who designed this ducting system for this unit. Hope you find a fix. 😊
Hi Alex, id it is possible I want to buy 2ducts. I have installed the same android , but i don't hear the audio. Do you know why? Do you have a poctures of the cabeling/connectors?
Hello AC, I’m looking into producing the ducts for other people. Need to figure that out. I’ll update as soon as I figure it out. As for the head unit, is it a CC3 from Teyes? There are lots of 9” android head units out there that look the same,…. but they are definitely not the same. I had to contact Teyes and get them to make up a harness for my car. It was a simple plug and play. Other companies expect you to do the wiring yourself.

Hi, you are correct they do not offer a kit for a Fiat 500. I purchased the 500X version and asked them to make me a harness to suit the standard 500 / Abarth. It’s worked out well, but was not straight forward. If I were doing it again, I’d look for a genre single Din version they do. Or purchase the 500Madness (or similar) unit which has everything ready to go. Hope that helps. 😊

@@MrAlexRitchie Thanks for the reply. I don't have the gear needed to print these I would need to have someone print them for me no matter what. But the CAD file would be great. I have that stereo 80% installed. The last shop that worked on my car rewired everything like a 10 year old did it. Tape, twisted wires, cheap audio cables spliced in. I'm undoing that wire by wire.

Hi there. I would like to purchase same radio for Abarth 500 but I’m struggling to find harness for it. Trying to contact teyes through social media but seems I can’t reach anyone. Any suggestions? They do sell through their website version for fiat 500L but I’m not sure if this would fit Abarth 500 ?
Hi! It wasn’t straight forward that’s for sure. Once I got hold of them through the customer support aspect of their website, I sent them pictures of the car harness and the back of the current stereo. I also sent them pictures of the stereo spec and harness configuration which should in a sticker on top of the standard stereo. From there, they were able to provide a harness to suit. The Teyes UK site did not offer the facia frame / bezel to go with it. So I purchased mine from AliExpress. I can provide a link if needed. Anyway, they also sell a harness with the frame which looks identical to the one I received. So I ‘suspect’ it’s just a generic loom that fits all android 9” stereos that go in that frame. Hope that makes sense. Also I had to cut and rewire one of the cables in the provided harness as it was causing my car battery to drain. Turns out this is a thing that can happen with Android car headunits. It was an easy fix. Just worth noting. Hope that helps.
Try that. You’ll see that you can buy just the frame or the frame and the harness or just the harness. I’d be surprised if it didn’t work. Seems odd to me otherwise to advertise the frame and harness when it’s specifically designed for a Fiat 500 and a 9” android stereo. The Teyes unit has the options to configure the steering wheel buttons as well. So as long as the harness connects the canbus to the steering wheel controls, you should be able to configure them if they don’t work straight away as mine did.
Hello, I haven’t figured out mass production yet. I was just keen to see the interest 1st, seems people are experiencing the same issue I had. I’ll be in touch once I get home from family holiday. Thanks Alex
Hello, I am now down to £50 if I source the parts from China. Please reply to my email address and let me know if this works for you. All the best, Alex
Absolutely! I’ve shipped all over the world, Australia, Japan, Europe, North and South America. Please just email me at alexritchiedesigns@gmail.com with your address and a photo or link to the stereo you have so that I can check the compatibility of the ducts. All the best, Alex
Hello Edgar! Please email me at alexritchiedesigns@gmail.com I have an email ready I send out with all the information in. Cost of parts, lead time, mating facia etc. All the best, Alex
Hello Ivan, thanks for your message. I’m really glad you like these. I’ll have to look into manufacturing of these on a big scale as I wasn’t expecting so many people to ask for them. As soon as I figure this out. I’ll be in touch and probably add another video to clarify everything.

Hi Lou! Nice to hear from you. I’m just in the process of getting this all together. At the moment it looks like it’s going to cost around £50, (maybe a little more with postage to the US). I’m still figuring this all out. I have quotes for manufacturer. I’m just waiting for people on here who have said they want the parts to confirm via email that would be happy to buy them for £50. I have a minimum order quantity of 10-off to hit to be able to sell the parts for this price. More than 15 people on here have said they want them. So it’s just a matter of conforming that the price is right for people. Otherwise this isn’t going to happen I’m afraid. Please email me at alexritchiedesigns@gmail.com All the best, Alex
Hi Sammy! Please email me at alexritchiedesigns@gmail.com. Include your address so I can give a cost for postage. If you already have the stereo upgrade, please include a picture or a web link so I can make sure my ducts will fit properly. All the best, Alex
Hello. LH / RH drive will not make a difference. All good. I have shipped 2 pairs to other customers in Israel. No problem. Please email me at: alexritchiedesigns@gmail.com Thank you, Alex
I chose the CC3 with 4GB RAM and 64GB memory. Just depends on what you are after. They do have smarter units which can do 360 cameras etc. I did have to contact them and ask for a bespoke harness to be made as they did not have a standard 500 or 595 to pick from. They only had the 500X. I ordered the 500X and notified the person I had been chatting to there online of my order number. They updated it with the custom harness. All turned up and plugged straight in.

Hello Daryl, after much effort to source a reasonably priced 3D printing firm, I have been selling these parts due to so many people asking for them who do not have the resources to print them. I did not think there would as much traction as there is. As a result I am not releasing the 3D file for now. You can contact me via the email in the description should you wish to purchase a pair. I hope you understand. All the best, Alex
Hello! Sorry for the delay. For some reason the comments have only just shown now. I’m currently on holiday with the family. I’ll get into sorting this when I get home. Really glad you like the parts. I’ll be in touch in about a week.

Both my wife and I are really pleased with it. It’s got way more capabilities than we use it for. I chose it after watching a review from “Saba Unleashed” here on RU-vid. Basically Teyes offer customer support and they updated the software. For that was important incase something didn’t work or go right. I did contact them about something and they got back to me really quick.
Hi @joshuarenouf. Yep, wireless Apple car play. Works great. It’s literally the only thing we use it for. And a reversing camera I installed. The unit is already geared up that when you put the car in reverse the display switches to the video feed. Seemed too easy not to install one.
@@MrAlexRitchie Great - any chance you can link me to the display, reversing camera and mount. I'll email you about the ducts. Can the reversing camera be sired up even on a convertible?
@@joyresolve no problem at all. Can you email me as it will be easier to communicate and FWD info. Can’t see any reason why you shouldn’t be able to fit the camera to a convertible.
Hello Juan, I’m currently getting quotes for production of these parts. 1st quote so far is looking like it would cost around £80 to you. So I’m trying to get better quotes so that this can become an affordable reality for you and everyone else who’s contacted me below. I’m not sure what people are prepared to pay for these, but never the less, I’d like to get them made as cheaply as possible for everyone. I’ll keep everyone updated as soon as I know more.

Hi, thank you for your reply, i have a contact in Ireland who does 3d printing for me, would you be interested in contacting him for a quotation to print the parts? He is reliable and very good. Thanks
Hi Robert, yes absolutely. Please email me his contact details and I can see what he can do. Ultimately I just want to get these parts as cheap as possible for everyone without ruining the part integrity. So far any UK or European businesses is costing a lot. The China quotes have been more reasonable. Let’s give it a whirl and see what he comes back with.
Hello Nivus, I will post the 3D file online once I have the legal IP copy right protection in place which I am close to doing. If you want to order a pair of parts I’m down to £50. If you would like this, please email me at alexritchiedesigns@gmail.com. Thanks Alex
Hello, I will be in touch soon. Apologies for the delay. Work and Family life are keeping me very busy. You’re not the only one. I have a few to respond to. Please bear with me.
