Surfer showed great calm in this video. Never seems to panic and is even duckdiving those monsters. I think I might have pan iced and chose to ride up on rocks which is problem deadly . Bravo to this bodyboarder . After this I bet he thinks he can survive anything
I know how this dude felt. I had a similar situation before. Had to duck dive 12 ft tubes, dann it's horryfiing. Got caught in the rip curl then right afterwards another 12 ft barrel smashed on me. I had to immediately try to get back to shore. Was totally exhausted
I went there from France 20 years ago ! , there was dead "lobos" on the ledge you could touch the black sky , the ambiance was creepy as hell and I shitted my pants at half this size ! the other side was more "human" ! great people and life in Chile good memories !
That is exactly what I would have done : throw away the board, count on the leash, dive and swim. I have lived this situation 3 months ago. I lasted 10 mn and it’s horrible
I've surfed this spot. There's no where to swim and better to use your board as protection between you and the 5" sea urchins that cling to the jagged reef, which is hidden under only 12" of water. Even if you're on a surfboard like I was.

As a previous swimmer i allways ditch a board on situation like that ( if there is no people behind me ) and i swim thru impact zone while dragging board behind with me. My arms just getting tired, but my legs still have a shitload of energy to dispose and by swimming i get thru impact zone 2x faster and 2x less spending energy while diving under waves without a board and make a 1 hard pull underwater for a board to drag thru white

Na vdd o vacilo nao foi na demora do resgate, e sim do atleta que demorou de pedir o resgate, o resgate entra quando o atleta solicita, o resgate age rápido em casos de acidente, ataques, afogamento e tals. Ali o cara achou que dava pra voltar no braço... SQÑ, ai quando o resgate viu que ele nao voltaria ai entrou em ação.
siniiistro em,eu qnd fui na praia em balneário Camboriú tinha onda que não chegava 2 metros e eu fiquei no meio dela quebrando em baixo da água você fica que nem um boneco se retorce tudo,e esse cara aí perto das pedras ainda,teve sorte.
Car with fui na praia brava do lado de balneário a correnteza me puxou para um buraco e eu não conseguia sair e as ondas quebrando em cima de mim que desespero!
Rapaz, já passei por isso e sai com a barriga, perna toda rasgada das pedras quanto tinha uns 17 anos, cheguei em casa minha mãe me deu uma coça ainda kkkkkkkkkk
This was a great life guarding job. If they swam out they're as crewed as him, if they took the skis out any earlier, they're dead. Really no way to help him out of this beating.
@@fe1jo628 If he stays calm and not paddling too hard when the sets keep coming and then goes hardout when there's a lull he could. Conserving energy is important in those situations. In my experience anyway. But paddling in white water doesn't work well which he's in. And we don't know what the currents doing either. Probably holding him in that spot.
Surfo de bodyboard , as vezes é foda demais quando pegamos um mar com umas Big assim .. prancha é bom , por ser maior , tem mais velocidade na entrada , bodyboard se nao tiver um preparo , pra entrar em alguns mares é foda .
O melhor de todo esse video é o passo dos oficiais de marinha. Toda a gente corre mas eles sempre bem tranquilos. Ah e os últimos 3 ou 4 duck dives são à Homem...!!!

Risco absurdo para os competidores. Nesse caso, a Interrupção do evento seria oportuna, a fim de preservar a integridade física e a própria vida dos atletas.
N&M1127 PAZ Cara, tem vários outros picos perigossísimos que não tem interrupção , você foi super leigo no comentário.Como por exemplo, teahupoo que tem uma bancada de corais muito rasa e em onda de ate 4 metros tem campeonato, se passar de 5 os Town-in atuam. Pipeline é outra onda muito perigosa, bancada de pedras muito rasa , assim como vários outros picos, Indonésia, etc.. Isso é questão de decisão do próprio atleta, se encara ou não.
Ficou preso na pedra tbm? O perigo maior no mar é ser arremessado nas pedras. Praia que não tem pedra, nao tem risco de vida, mesmo se tiver ondas de 5 metros. O máximo que vai tomar é um caixote que vai te jogar na areia
If your big wave place doesn't have a easy channel. To paddle back out in.for me then it's just a crazy place .an unmakeable place. (El gringo ) kind of like an economy run by the gringos that make it impossible to get anywhere. funny huh...? PS just saw the ski. and these are some brave individuals
I don't think the skis can get in there. It's like a foot deep, with jagged rocks, sea urchins and he was practically on the shelf with 10 foot bombs landing on him. No one in their right mind is pulling a 600lb ski in there.
He could of made it over the one wave but hesitated, always better to swim out if in doubt, because you will be likely sucked into the impact zone if you try to swim in during a set.
I'm pretty sure he knew he wasn't gonna make it and didn't wanna get lipped or get sucked over the falls on top of the shelf/rocks. The shitty part is the sea urchins that are stuck to the reef under him, that is like a foot deep...
