Good, congratulations on the content, very technical and dedicated to Airbag have not seen something so detailed, I wonder if it is possible to connect the Airbag system of a car with a few seats of another car of different brand for example, a Seat Leon and put a Subaru seats and connect the Airbag so that everything is working as original. This content I have not yet discovered, if you can help I would appreciate it. Thank you and good videos
The problem is I've searched everywhere I could and I can't find anything talking about it.... I've searched for Recaro CS installation and they never talk about how to connect the Airbag from the seats.... One of my fears is connecting the Airbags and them popping.... I don't know if the wires on the airbags have positive and negative polarity or if it is the same to reverse the wires.... This is information I can't find anywhere.
If the computer is able TO make a difference between open circuit and short circuit, why you need a dummy resistor? Open circuit, short circuit that the code you going to have. in the case that you have a higher resistance than normal, short that circuit and check for wiring problem. Good video by the way. sorry for my english I have an andicape I born in Quebec!
The computer can establish those two... But can tell if the problem is wiring of the component at the end of the circuit... That is where devices like this become handy, to check circuit integrity... 👍👍👍
I thing a Laguna 2,for example, has 4 wires going to the driver's airbag alone, one plug on each side of the (explosive) cylinder ; each plug, one green, one blue, w/ 2 wires; maybe you'd need 2 resistors for that one airbag?
Yes... you can always connect it parallel... But this is to test the circuit, so you can always test one at the time... The two plugs is for the dual stage airbags system... 👍👍👍
Thank you friend for your teachings. I am one of your followers, I have a question for you? how can i do with a 2002 vw beetle, when the cluster is replaced by a used one
That will require the pin from both clusters if I am not mistaken... Alternatively, you can attempt to swap the eeprom or mcu... Never worked on one of those, so not sure which one needs doing... or if both... If you have programming tools, might also be possible to clone it... Check the ross-tech website... there is very good info in there... 👍👍👍
Brilliant, as always. Good job and very ingenious 👏🏻👏🏻 In Audi we use the VAG1630A for test airbag circuits, and personally for all components that works under reference currents. Could be a good idea to make a video with Asus (actual values) and this tool, showing how resistors influence the voltage received from ECU, and how is converted to another parameter as temperature, intake vacuum, etc.. It's very useful because with this method discarts malfunctions from Ecu internal power supply, wiring harness, connectors, etc... Regards and thank you!!
Hi Luis, I've been a staunch follower of your channel for many many years and I salute you for the great job you do. Just wanted to ask you regarding this DIY airbag tester, what is the Watts required for the resistor?. The link of eBay in your description doesn't work anymore. Thank you in advance
As usual Great Job!!! Obrigado é um dos meus canais de preferência, além da partilha é um excelente local de aprendizagem e ideias para futuro. muito bom.
he said below he has a french fries related job on the day time... expertly works on car's electronic problems that other pros can´t fix... lots and lots of youtube videos.... man, you should do a video of *YOU* some day; what town you're from originally, how long you've been there, engineer or not , family there or not, plans to scale up the car business or not etc; you know, we on this side spend many hours watching your hobby work videos, instead of those pesky Hollyweed movies, and we get curious; think about it :)
I am not sure I get your question... The igniters have separate circuits... (With a few exceptions where manufacturers have 2 igniters in series.... in order to deploy them at the same time...) 👍👍👍
Hi, thanks a lot for everything you share it's great. I would like to know the differences between Knob YH, Knob HQ, Knob ZPZY ... Knowing that you used a Knob YH can you use another? thanks to you
Shadows Hi I haven't researched that far... lol As far as is something that stops at every position, you should be fine... Thank you for watching and for your comment! 👍
Hi, mate having issues with red airbag light on ever since used jump leads to start car, code comes up as b0117 (front impact sensor) changed sensor still no luck, checked feed to sensor its showing around 12v constantly any advice would be greatly appreciated, also any way to check if crash sensor any good or a bypass. Thanks
Hi The impact sensors on some cars, need to be specific... also, some have more than 1 sensor... Not saying it is your case, but might worth attention! 👍👍👍
Checked on my alfa romeo by disconnecting the slam panel sensor which the diagnostic says is the issue so then the same fault code was present no new code, so just to be sure I disconnected the seat airbag and that came up on diagnostic so the module is correct in pointing me to the slam panel sensor, many thanks for your reply 👍 p.s. the sensor i replaced has same part number so do you mean programmed in by saying it needs to be specific?
Hi I know, I mentioned it on the video... But the idea was to show how is done... and obviously have some fun while doing it.... Thank you for watching!
Hey Luis, love your videos but...the MS908p is £1500+ Ideally I would prefer you show stuff I could do myself but at that price I'm not sure. Could you address this question in a video. I know some/many makes have software tools available e.g. vag com but there is a bit of a learning curve for each make. Is that the only option to just splashing the cash ?
Rhian Taylor Hi If you are only thinking to work on your own car etc... certainly the MS908P is a big investment... is not however if you are planning to take a bit more jobs... I do show in most of my videos, how to do things yourself... the scanner is just a scanner, obviously more you spend more you get... but the same way I use the MS908P, I could use any other scanner... If you plan to do this sort of stuff regularly, you need to invest... there is no other way... There is many alternatives to expensive scanners, as you have mentioned, vagcom.... etc... Hope some how that answers your question... Thank you for watching!
I am not selling something I need... You can find this quite cheap on placed like ebay... is called decade box... I just thought would be interesting to make my own... I explained the diagram on the video... Thank you for watching!
Thank you great work ,very impressive , i have a question i have an airbag light on my 2014 honda accord , i have a code ( B0090 )impact sensor front driver side , is there a way to test the sensor it has 2 pins , and i do not have reference resistance for it any guidance thank you
Hi You would either have a closed circuit (or near that), or OL... in the case of a traditional impact sensor... But some I believe they are digital... so resistance does not play here... I would check the wiring from the module to the sensor, if checkout ok, then the sensor is probably at fault... Hope that helps. Thank you for watching and for your comment!
U can buy this nd put ur air bag side if light goes off that mean that side air bag problem ,,Universal Wheel Airbag Emulator Simulators Fault Tester Airbag Diagnostic Tool
Peter Rumble Hi Not really... I mean, to find a variable resistor that will go from 0 to 10 ohms with this accuracy, is quite difficult... Plus, this way, you know exactly what resistance you are putting in the circuit... But, by all means, show us how to do it using just a VR.... Thank you for watching!
sorry i wasn't trying to be clever i'd seen one that looked like it was made from a rheostat with markings for different resistance . the adptraining i said about they have a play list of different diagnostic tools you can make your self .just thought you might find it interesting .
Peter Rumble Lol No worries... and I was not try to be rude or sarcastic... There is different ways of doing this... I just done it this way... some people will might find it good, some people will find it bad... Opinions... Thank you for your feedback!
The resistance value in the ignition circuit containing component R12/2,(,front passenger ETR ignition squib)is too high. Car is 2003 Mercedes SL 500. It has 2 yellow plugs underneath the passenger seat, I don't know where to use the resister, plz help me
The squib is the system behind the steering wheel... which allows the connections to the steering while turning the steering... That looks like it is referring to the steering airbag... a quick look at the live data should help you to confirm that... 👍👍👍
