The button on the back is there to get rid of the moisture that builds up as you play it. While pressing the button, blow hard into the mouthpiece until no moisture is coming out.
I would like to know, also. I saw someone say in a video that they think it's supposed to help release the built-up moisture in the instrument, but I'm not so sure how to use it for that purpose.
