Private Wallace from 2 PARA talks about Operation Pitting and what the medal means to those who took part in the evacuating 1500 people from Kabul, #Afghanistan.
A Medal Parade has been held for 16 Air Assault Brigade Combat Team’s units to mark their service on the operation. The mission was to support the evacuation of British people, entitled Afghans and civilians from partner nations, as the Taliban took control of Afghanistan in August 2021.

The mighty parachute regiment!The worlds best bar none.Well done lads and who cares about prostitutes ,soldiers have been using them since soldering was invented.The long and short of it is no one fights like these men and to be honest you can include any British soldier in that.I’m always proud of our lads because they are simply the best !

Theys guys definitely deserved the medal, forget about the 28 day crap. My hat off to them Evrething was tumbling down in Afghanistan,, Last days. They went and put themselves in a situation, You'd have to be mad, or airborne to do.. Evrething is against you, Never a good day. But that's why airborne forces are required. Different breed.

How have you just noticed that Pegasus and Bellerophon are on there, you reckon you're an ex Para! They've been on there for about 10yrs and it was the Striking Eagle for 20yrs or so before that. It recreates the original flash from 1st & 6th Airborne in WW2 so do you think they were 'cringe' too?

Bcoz Biden withdrew nearly all US troops, even giving up control of their last base, Bagram Air Base, from Afghanistan. The Afghan forces are also incompetent, they would just give up and run away not long after a firefight starts. When these Afghan forces fled, the taliban literally just marched in and took over without any or very little resistance, and everybody was racing to the Kabul Airport trying to get out, all those videos and pictures u saw afghans standing on top a parked plane, running around the tarmac and taxiway, clinging to the side of a US Air Force plane about to take off. That's when only Biden decided to redeploy about 3 thousand troops back in to stabilize the situation. Biden also left behind over 80 billion dollars worth of weapons and equipment.
