Thank you ! I'm new at this and this is just what I was looking for. I was practicing dots up close and most of them looked like spiders. So either the paint is too thin, or the psi is too high................
Hey Rob, great video mate I could here the difference when you were using the thicker paint compared to the thinner one just goes to show that you can tell if your paint is mixed correctly just by the sound it makes👏👏👊👍
short simple and exactly what i needed when i started airbrushing, i cant tell you how much time i wasted playing the is my PSI right, am i doing something wrong? is this paint broken? when i first sat down with my "ready for airbrush paint" that i didnt even know i needed to dilute.
Great channel for us beginners. I have a problem with my iwata eclipse. When i easy my trigger forward to stop the flow of paint it spits a little. Replaced the needle still the same problem. Can you help.
I am a complete noob to airbrushing. Received one as a gift (just the airbrush set, which apparently is quite a decent unit). Just the airbrush. Purchased a battery compressor, to get the feel of things. Was awful, PSI topped out around 15 at the nozzle. Decided I liked the way it worked, but didn’t want to spend a fortune on a compressor. Purchased a basic full kit, which included a small AC compressor, with three PSI settings, maxing out at 40 PSI, I believe) which works well enough for my purposes (painting miniatures). Included airbrush did not have a dial to change PSI at the nozzle, but my original airbrush does. Why does the airbrush have this dial, when you can set the pressure at the compressor? Is it so you don’t have to keep changing the PSI at the compressor, or some other reason? Cheers,
You're correct; the mac valve on the airbrush is so you can leave your compressor at a constant psi and just adjust it from the airbrush (although not as accurately, but it's not that important). This is especially helpful when you have multiple airbrushes set up on one compressor.
From the USA, Indiana. Thanks for the video! Just getting back into mini models, after completing my last one in the 70's. Got my new airbrush system today, this video gives me that PSI starting point that I was looking for. I hope my old eyes will hold out doing this again. I look forward to more of your videos.
Very useful and straight to the point, I haven’t bought one yet because I’m researching techniques and best model for beginner/ use, I’m looking at the FENGDA BD-130K which doesn’t have MAC dial but for first airbrush I’m not too bothered, I plan on buying a very good compressor though (FINE ART A-7000), which does have good adjustment of PSI, my only stress is knowing wether the price/brand of the airbrush is important at this early stage Your idea of a base PSI of 25 makes sense and with all the different types of paints it would be easier to change the viscosity of the paint rather than constantly changing the air pressure Happy new year btw
If your starting out and looking for a brush go for the new 2024 harder and steenbeck ultra it's robust easy to use and teaches you to airbrush It's the best brush on the market for a beginner hope this helps 👍 there is videos on the channel with the ultra worth a look have a great new year Rob
I’ve been looking at them since watching your review, it seems a good choice and as it’s available from my local model shop at (converted from Hungarian forints) about £63 it will be worth it Thank you and happy new year to you too
Hi am trying to use dark ground/black on false oak beams I create, can I use water based stains ? Tried to set up the gun4 times without success, even with water
@dredfxcustompaint there is a 5/16th pcl to about 1/16th step down , into a tiny hose that came with it . I am using a Clarke 5 cfm , 25 ltr compressor.
