@@problemsnearyou8899 Those combos can be really difficult, and the window for actually being true without adc is so small. And he showcased turnip trains at Gen 9, which you have to input like 7 inputs in a specific order and buffer them properly. And on top of that, those 7 inputs need to be in the proper i put while doing them all within less than half a second...

Try it. I main toon link, and one of my favorite combo starters is this: throw a bomb and if it bounces off someones shield, you're free to catch it and throw it again without then expecting, then combo from there. This variation works with young link as well, because his bombs will explode on impact as well. Big link will work a lot different because of how many options you'll have with remote bombs.

@@spudgebeethoven6495 I looked into it, Link's bomb needs very specific things for it to work. Tested on a few characters. You can true combo from about 130% into another toss then into up b. The problem lies in that its frame perfect at this percent so its not worth going for. Sure it can be buffered but needs specific buttons pressed and let go. An easier thing albeit still technically difficult, I found that works at most percents is using a variation that you can buffer throw from short hop, requires two grab buttons. Then after the throw, you regrab bomb with one grab button, then a few frames later I think, drop bomb with second button. This leads to guaranteed grab, but technically can be comboed into other moves, but incredibly precise at low percents. Sort of like Peach/Daisy dtilt combo from a double drop bomb. Remote bomb has so little hitstun on the foe that it barely works. However, these combos can work with enough practice, but its very tight. Like for example, Link air dodges sometimes when catching the bomb and I couldn't figure out why all the time. It felt like I was doing the same inputs even when using frame advancing. With that said, the best thing I found for practical uses was shorthop toss bomb, if the opponent is a tall enough character and at 130% or higher, you cross up and buffer bair to catch the bomb, from there, just reverse up b and you're almost guaranteed a kill. Need more testing however. If this worked on Aegis running at you for example, the MU would be a lot easier.

Update: I realized that I've been doing it, mostly for the stage movement. This tech does almost nothing to improve Link's combo game because bomb doesn't have enough hitstun to do true double toss.

no, this is very feasible with gcc too! you can buffer the shield button during a 9 frame window after the initial turnip toss, the next toss just needs to be timed in the first 2 frames of the airdodge animation

You can also shave down/remove the springs in your triggers, super common in melee but not really a thing in ultimate. I guess you could also just remap shield to whichever of x/y you don’t use. GCC is still totally a viable option for this
