Saw this trick performed by @ennuihawkand wanted to recreate it in 3D. The animation was done in @Cascadeur then I made a simple scene and rendered it in @BlenderOfficial.
In my opinion pointed toes look better, it gives a straighter leg feeling. But you are right that in the reference (and in most windmill or coindrop videos) the athletes don't point their toes.
Yes, I used autoposing for fingers which is only available in the paid version. But you can do the same with box controllers if you use the free version. It is just a bit slower.
