Airedales are such gorgeous, clever, funny and intelligent people that it's easy to find them all of a sudden more or less the dominant life form in your household. I've had two, and I have loved them every day. I can't picture life without an Airedale. They're unlike any other kind of dog I've ever encountered. The first time I saw one, I said "this is the life for me" and have never regretted a day of fun and work with them. People say that they're not for everyone, but I've been happier and healthier than ever since I met them. I've stopped smoking because they didn't like it, and lost twenty pounds while taking walks. Can't beat that.
How would you say the breed personalities differ? My schnauzer is serious and tough. He lives to love and protect the family and he isn't generally friendly with other dogs.
I lost my Airedale 7 months today and am having a hard time finding another one so I love watching all your videos of all of yours. Looking for one between 2-5 years old. House isn't a home for me without an Airedale.
Aireies . . . the most darling of clowns . . . along with Lakies (Lakeland Terriers) . . . I want 'em all for myself; but so do you! They are far more, than just a dog, they are Aireies and Lakies; need I say more??
I had a Welsh Terrier name Winston which looks exactly like the Airedale but only 22 lbs. I miss him and when I babysit my sisters dog I keep calling him Winston.
I've had 6 airedales in my life can't imagine life without one. My boy also speaks Airdalees lol. They just love to the centre of attention. Love them!
We hate being socially isolated But with airedales life’s pretty sweet. Best breed so smart able to make their needs known! Biggest love trait is all the head bumping.
Willie is quite the vocal guy and very entertaining! We have had Airedales for over 30 yrs and think they are the best breed in the world. We also learned something about choke chains a few years ago and stopped using them completely. Please look into it for yourselves. We use harnesses for both of our dogs now.
My Airedale does the same EXACT thing....I truly don't know what to make of it. It's like he's mad because he doesn't have vocal cords and opposable thumbs. He's clearly not aggressive and trying to communicate.
My Airedale kennel club name is" Ruskin The Joker" named at birth on registration and boy if ever a dog lived up to his kennel Club name it's my now 5 year old Airedale.
