With its captivating narrative, this kit portrays the evolution of a single aircraft, from its inaugural flight to its current livery, rendering it truly one-of-a-kind.

Loved building the 1/72 model of this back in the day...! Fun fact; as an RAF Air Movements erk in the '70s I had the "privilege" of loading Westland Commando (couple of times) on Shorts Belfast's! Also got a flight in a Westland Scout (my absolute favourite Airfix helicopter model!) in 1976 - can't tell you where though lol! Would build this if I had the room to display it... sigh!

Looks to be a brilliant kit! I have 3 of the 1/72 Sea Kings so this will be a welcome supersized addition to the collection!

Nice to include early and late main and tail rotors. Thought I saw hole guides on the inside of the tail boom for VOR/ILS antennas; HC4/HAR 3 coming? Those are the versions I'd like to see. A few extra parts (like the 'plain' nose with starboard mounted light), lifting frame, maybe a door mounted GPMG etc. would do it. Didn't see the screens on the top front of the main rotor mast- same omission on the 1/72 kits. Very nice to have a 1/48 kit with an interior available! Good job, very impressed! Helicopters (rotary wing) are so overlooked. Gazelle, Scout/Wasp sometime? Edit: looked at enlarged finished models, saw the screens. Starboard fuselage also looks like it has optional locations for the refuelling position by the cargo door; indicates HAR 3/ HC 4 may be coming since this position was at the trailing edge of the door, not below it for these aircraft.

Hope this gets back to management - just built the has1 version - was going to do the 771 nas version but the decals that came direct from India had a fold in them going straight through the ace of clubs rendering it unusable. Kit went together great although would have liked crew door struts, easy fix though.

The first incarnation of XV666 in 1970 should have read 'HMS Eagle' rather than Culdrose as confirmed by the big 'E' on its tail

Looks like a nice model but it would add a lot of value to the video to add a lot more context. e.g. Show a nicely built and painted kit for reference as you go along. Give us an idea of the size of the completed model for context for those unaccustomed to 1:48 scale.. Talk about variants that can be built and build options like in-flight, on ground, under maintenance etc. Where the variants were used. Describe what some of the parts represent "These parts represent the twin Rolls Royce engines that were designed in 1958 and develop 3,200 HP", "This is a sonar buoy used for anti-submarine operations during the cold war, details remain classified". Airfix models are amazing in their detail and value for money, do them justice! I hope to build one of these one day when I have more time and better skills 🙂

No… this is an UNBOXING review… not a build review, or ‘history of, or ‘guide to variants’. Unboxing … open the box and show us the parts. Fini. Thanks.

@@ernestgalvan9037 Would have been much better use of 5 minutes of my time to add some context and background in the process. Yes, I am aware of last month's video.
