Someone working for the airline did that. probably did it by mistake when booting the teacher to a lower class seat. Still these sort of things happen all the time. After the airline realised the error they could have made the correction and given the congresswoman a lower class seat or booked her a different flight but because she is a political figure they valued her good favor over some random woman. なな あい No. Both ladies were dumb. She was stupid to accept United's offer to be put in economy, got that economy boarding pass, get reimbursed the difference between both placed. Then go create drama with the Congress women who is also a costumer who didn't know of the issue. If it really bothered her to be put in economy, she would have started drama with United and not have accepted that economy ticket nor her money back. She was no longer a first class passenger when she got into that plane. And the Congress women shouldn't have reacted like a victim. They both acted like 13 years old. Both stupid

The lady was just mad that she bought a first-class ticket and got bumped. She's mad that she's less elite than a black women. Taking pictures, being rude, demanding the other lady get up, involving her career and livelihood. Airlines don't tell you that you bought a ticket that someone else already bought. The congresswoman had literally no way of knowing. I doubt the white lady would have acted the same way is her seat was taken by an old white congressman. Yes she still would have been mad but she would not have felt as entitled or embolden to expect the congressmen to get up and relocate to the back of the plane. The women's actions were messed up and immature. She shouldn't have slandered the congresswoman and instead worked something out with the flight attendant. From the Congress woman's point of view, she's minding her own business and a white woman comes up to her causing a scene demanding he move to the back of the plane... when she paid for her ticket and had every right to be there as well. Her words and actions wreak of entitlement and superiority... So yah, I get that from the congresswoman's perspective that it seems like a race thing.

I would have definitely taken this to court. You can't do that to someone who's already paid for that seat.

I would of sued her for theft of my property . You see that seat was paid for by the customer and she had ever right to that property . Taking it away was an infringement on the customers freedom to chose . A crime was committed . Charges to the woman would still be on her credit card and that is fraud .

@@gordonnadolni8727 It's not theft of property. It is, at best, failure by the airline to deliver a service. It is not your property since you have absolutely no legal rights (as far as it being your property) over that seat, it's not yours. You just pay to use it.

The teacher is not telling the whole story. The ticket says 'seat not yet assigned'. She may have purchased a cheap ticket and requested an upgrade.... She didn't get it. Shelia Jackson Lee is Platinum status, that teacher is not.
