After spending 5 days in Darwin, Australia, I decided to fly to Alice Springs, the centre of Australia. I decided to try Airnorth, the second longest running airline in Australia. Today's aircraft is a 31-year old Embraer EMB-120 Brasilia aircraft, this video will include a full review of the aircraft, the beautiful sunrise and landing into Alice Springs Airport. I've only flew this plane 210 NM. Way back inthe very late 80s as a kid it was my first flight, and I loved every minute of it. They were retired out of my airport in 03. Love these planes! Thank you for making these videos!

Can you imagine travelling internationally on one of these? Some years ago I flew from Darwin to Dili in Timor-Leste and back with Air North. The flight to Dili was on a Metroliner which carried, if I remember rightly, 19 passengers, one seat on each side of the aisle. No toilet and no cabin crew, just the pilots in their open cockpit. The trip back to Darwin though was in a Brasilia so we had the luxury of a one person cabin crew and availability of a toilet in the event of extreme need. I didn't check the toilet. Having seen this video, if I ever need a Brasilia toilet I'll rinse my hands from a water bottle over the toilet bowl. Good video, a few views of Alice would have made it even better.

Great trip report, very well presented and I would take an EMB-120 just for the experience. I would love to do the Darwin to Alice Springs milk run (via Katherine and Tenant Creek) one day, that's a bucket list item for me.

i think that there was that Australia government card in the seat pocket, as airnorth operates international flights between Darwin and East Timor. Also the Safety card looks a lot like the Qantas ones from 2014-2018.

Air North Great Airline never had any problems with the Airline. I did Darwin - Kununurra - Darwin many times..

I believe Saab340 is quieter and the seats are more comfortable But I don’t mind the emb either

What I like about Australia is airports without those boarding tunnels. You board from tarmac.

looks like the pilot flared it until it stalled. curious landing (to me).

and the flare wasn't that long, which means the aircraft was less than 10 knots (maybe about 5) to stall speed prior to the flare. i mean, if my theory is what really happen.

@@rchrdsn I was the skipper on this flight, and we were no where near the stall mate. It’s just the characteristics of this specific aircraft, it’s heavy in feel and has fairly stiff oleo’s so landings tend to be firm in it.

There were two flights on that day This one was the direct one, was supposed to be operated by E170 but they downgraded it to EMB120 due to lack of demand
