@@TheSinaloaCartel yeah. I was on a plane a long time ago, and everything looked like it was slow moving even down on ground and looking at planes in the sky they don't look like they move fast (but obviously they do). This was video was quite interesting to see it from another perspective
This happened to me years ago. I was flying into Orlando, we got diverted because of storms in the area. So we were out over the ocean flying in circles and what looked to be a smaller green jet came ripping by. Seemed too close for comfort but it was super cool. That’s when I was able to get a perspective on how fast we actually are going.
@Levi Ligget that’s slow as shit compared to a military jet or the old Concord that could do Cruise speed: 1,341 mph or Mach 2 😎 🇺🇸... the 🇺🇸 has them as tactical stealth bombers in the us air force
Wow this is so freaking cool. It really shows how fast you’re actually travelling but it appears slow onboard. The other plane would be the same you’ll fly passed very fast but it would feel slow in their plane. Great capture.
@@kcook8119 Yeah I hope he won’t. Luckily he’s been flying for over 30 years so he has less of a chance of being laid off. Who knows though in these times
My uncle piloted the Concorde for Air France for 15yrs. I was able to fly on it one time about 2yrs before they retired them… best commercial flight EVER
That's amazing! But what I think is even more amazing is how it's really clear that the atmoshpere is so thin! I mean, you can pretty much see the blackness of space above you. I love this about flying!!! Makes you realize we are so small, and how we often don't realize about what's going on above our heads and out into space!
Yep and we’re only in the stratosphere when flying commercial. Check out flight videos at 60k or 80k feet with aircraft below them. ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-q48Swb2ATww.htmlsi=-6QTfDb3oTWS2akk
@@theretep6494 no I'm not, I made this about them being in space because if you look up it is literally pitch black and the planet is curved so it looks like they are in space
This happened to me once on a commercial flight I was just chilling, admiring the earth from above and then I just see a mf zoom over me at a million miles an hour it spooked me for a second 😂
This happened to me and I thought the plane was going to hit us. My family didn’t believe me. Finally I can show them that yeah this happens probably on the regular.
Seen it ...specially when you're grtting close to Europe...but you see them either passing over you...or under ...like 2 Kms distance within dif. Altitudes Thank God...
@@GovindSomai its still close. and comment below states 1000 feet apart. thats not that much. on those speeds what is 300m? Youre supposed to keep like 100m distance when driving 200km/h on the autobahn. Those things are flying each with ruffly 900km/h. 300m is literally nothing at this point. so "no worries" is a bit wrong here imo.
@@marcol6268 The comment below is talking about vertical separation, which would be 1000 feet in altitude. Your example using the autobahn would only apply if the aircraft are within 1000ft of each other in altitude, where the separation becomes 3 nautical miles horizontally. I do agree that it is still pretty close though
You basically wouldn't have any time under the right conditions, with such a fast closure rate, by the time you notice and take action it's basically too late. not that you would be flying without TCAS, (90% sure it's required equipment for commercial airline flight IIRC)
This is the most breathtaking short I've seen so far. The cruising altitude, the way the plane window refracts the light on the ocean below, and of course another plane passing by.
The first I saw this when I flew really freaked me out. I’m thinking the whole time to myself, there’s a lot of air space up there, why is there another plane flying near my plane?
I was flying into Minneapolis many years ago and we had already started our descent. I was bored, so I looked out the window. There was another aircraft going the opposite direction. It was literally gone in the blink of an eye. That's the only time I've ever seen another plane going the opposite direction. It LITERALLY blows your mind, because it happens so fast. Plus, the other plane wasn't up to full speed, as he had just taken took off from the airport, maybe 10 minutes before that. That just made it even scarier, considering neither plane was at their cruising speed.
I saw something similar on my floght to New York earlier this year. Another plane that had just taken off as I was going in to land. It zoomed past so fast and disappeared into the distance within a few seconds
Long flight like 14 hours or more I'd do everything in my power to kill some time, sleep or binge watch idfc Short flight I'd definitely be sky watching like you
What a beautiful shot and yes, agree with others, I never realized how fast you're going. Also, next time I get on a plane I'll be praying I have a veteran pilot.
I saw this at the end of last year when we flew to Miami in a SAS A330, I was casually looking out of the window when an Avelo 737 passed by close to us.
@@BoutYoungAnnaLee thats not what were seeing. We’re seeing exactly what it appears to be which is the sky getting darker. I hate you internet know-it-alls. Yall just make shit it up because it sounds good.
@@BoutYoungAnnaLeethat's complete bs. You can see the dust on the window and it's not in sync with the darkness. You can't be serious? Also I've never heard of any such thing on any plane.

@@alx_8563 as we all know, this is a debate between me and you that we need in real life. As messages wouldn’t truely get the point across. I like to hear your take,
You and the op for liking who I'll tell used the Lord's Name lightly in vain .....using the Lords Name lightly in vain is the Second Commandment and a mortal sin .......meaning if you do it knowingly you go to hell unless you get absolved by a Catholic priest. It's worse that raping and murder combined. Now vulgarity i.e. from vulgate or base language like fuck or cunt ISN'T a sin at ALL in fact it's NECESSARY to convey truth and in most cases today is a sin NOT to use it in this sick twisted emasculated satanic and as a result inhuman society we live in where no one's even in touch with the fact that they have blood running through their veins. Show's how not in touch with our humanity we are when we'll censor simply base language (fuck, cunt) but not using God's holy Name in vain. Also God's existence is proven. Using the Lord's Name lightly without due reverence as said is a mortal sin meaning if done deliberately and with full knowledge and consent one suffers the loss of the life of grace in the soul and go to hell is worse than rape and murder combined.....IF he or she is baptized validly in the Name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit with running water otherwise they don't have the life of God in them anyway to begin with and can't gain admittance into heaven unless the are baptized......for those who are and do such suffer hell the same even worse as they had grace working in them unless they receive absolution from a Catholic priest if ....again done with full knowledge and deliberate consent. Any way it's done is a mortal sin but it's even weightier when the holy name of Jesus Christ is used.........and if you don't say anything when someone ELSE does it or post content in which it is used you commit the same mortal sin via OMISSION or tacit/passive approval. As i said God's existence is proven. They've taken the proofs for the existence of God out of modern DEeducation but the proofs for the existence of God are a staple in any undergraduate philosophy tract. They're called St Thomas's 5 proofs. You can't get to Catholicism the One true and only faith via logic alone but the sheer existence of God and that He must, for example, be One, IS proven. Here's one. Everything has a cause. If you don't assent to this you're simply a liar. IF you don't have a First Cause of all, Himself Uncaused, you have an infinite regress of causes of effects and never getting to the First Cause you never get in reverse logic to what you see today by necessary result of this infinite regress. The infinity (i.e. NEVER ending of causes) creates an insurmountable gap because of it's inherent infinity insurmountable to suffice for the existence of anything you see that exists and has a cause of its existence. There MUST therefore by necessity exist a FIRST Cause that is Himself Uncaused Who is God. You're welcome
Planes can be that close, atc must have at least a minimum of 1,000 feet seperation in all directions. Not only that but assuming both planes are flying IFR they are using approved airways in which are separated far enough for that reason. This plane is more than far enough away.
Nah..at that altitude all you need is 5mi 1000ft. That was probably 6 to 7 miles lat and 1000 vertical, any closer than the minimum and a pilot wouldve possibly got a TCAS and took action..true story
If youdone dozens of flights and did not see anything like this. It is because you did'nt notice it. Especially over the Oceans you can see this kind of view. Lots of aircrafts passes by your flight. 😊
I remember flying back to Vegas from Honolulu a plane flew right over us it was so cool and it was moving quickly! It’s amazing that it feels like we are moving slow when in reality it’s due to the lack of frames of references.
@@lbj2642 In this video? No. If this plane was at cruising altitude when the video was taken, he would have been just barely high enough to see the curve. However, that would have also required a cloudless horizon and a wider range of view. Neither of those conditions were satisfied, so you probably won’t see a curve in this video.
@@lbj2642because the earth is very big, and you have to go very high. What's even in it for the government to lie about the shape of the earth anyway?
