Are you worried about the rest being flagged by TSA? In years past , especially at DEN they have had issues with my bipods, and chassis weights, even my sandbag, because they were gun parts. I have had to run to fedex and ship my stuff a couple of times after tsa agents wouldn't follow their own rules

No, I don’t worry about it because I always keep screenshots of all the rules and what’s legal and as long as I don’t have actual gun parts, it’s not a problem. There are obviously all different levels of screening agents, but I know other people have found that if you have a supervisor called, it usually gets worked out if there’s any kind of miscommunication on what is considered a gun part.

Have you found airlines to play games with weight? I flew from Milwaukee to Atlanta and weights were good. Flying back the airline said I was overweight, yet several hundred rounds of ammo were fired so there was far less weight in the bags on return. Crazy.

How many rounds were you travelling with? Weight?

400rds, about 32lbs of ammo. Only Alaska allows you to fly that much.

@@FClassJohn What do you do when you fly with another airline company? I’m facing the issue of the 5KG weight limit and I don’t know what to do.

I fly United almost exclusively and their limit is 11 pounds (5kg) as well. Not a problem for smallbore competitions but is an issue for high power matches.
