The most important information in this video was left out. On your Mac, choose Apple menu > System Settings, click General in the sidebar, then click AirDrop & Handoff on the right. (You may need to scroll down.) Open AirDrop & Handoff settings for me Turn on the Airplay receiver. (this will only show if you have a Macbook 2018 or later) Click the pop-up menu next to “Allow Airplay for” and choose whose devices can use AirPlay to stream content to this Mac. No one wants to tell you the real way to actually make this work or why it may not work. Now you know :-)

Update: It's now Apple menu > System Settings > Sharing > Screen mirroring On and then click on All users or add yourself to selected users.

Great tutorial! I was trying to stream audio from my Mac to my iPhone, but I couldn't get it to work using Airplay. Do you have any suggestions on how I can accomplish this?

it is possible to divide the screen from iphone to macbook and still play the sound of the phone? For example, I share video with a tik tok on a macbook, and the sound goes to the iphone. Thanks for your reply

Probably because Bluetooth isn’t set to always discoverable, add bluetooth to your menu bar and now click option(keyboard)+click on bluetooth icon in menu bar, it will show discoverable status. Discoverable:off, if you open the bluetooth control panel, discoverable will be turned on(temporarily) to make it permanent, you should go to Sharing- and turn on stuff like screen sharing file sharing, media sharing remote events, bluetooth sharing etc, it made the discoverable turn on permanently for me, then now you will be able to see your mac from iphone.

At first it fine when i use for music but when i put my mac in sleep mode and after try to share audio nothing happens. I have to restart my mac to work that feature. It it bug or problems with my machine!

This feature doesn't pop up for me. I have the 2017 MacBook Pro & my phone & computer are both updated. Not sure why. I also dont see the feature with my AirPods pros that allow me to get notified when its left behind... send help haha
