Greenpeace climate campaigners and Sipson village resident Linda McCutcheon presented Airplot's legal Deed of Trust at 10 Downing Street this morning, to say thank you to the new Cameron/Clegg government following its move to officially scrap Heathrow expansion and thje third runway.
Linda wept with joy after learning that her home and village were saved from the bulldozers.
The deed contains the names of all 90,000 benefically owners the plot, who stand ready to legally challenge a third runway at Heathrow.
Since the new Cameron/Clegg government has already agreed to officially scrap Heathrow expansion it may no longer prove necessary, but it will serve as reminder that there are a huge number of us who are prepared to stand in the way of the bulldozers should the new PM change his mind.
Great though this news is, it's not the end of the campaign. Neither the Tories nor the Lib Dems have yet ruled out expansion at other airports around the country - so we'll keep going until the new government recognizes that all airport expansion has to stop.
