I have some of the latest skullcandy crusher evo’s and they’re pretty great, but I gave them to my son, because he kept borrowing them to workout and got them sweaty… they aren’t sweat/waterproof, soooo… that grossness is all his now haha! I have some beats fit pro and the sound is phenomenal, but I have obnoxiously tiny ears and canals so they just can’t stay in, even stationary using the smallest tips. I’m on a quest for over the ear now. I need ones that can be LOUD and prefer bass heavy because tenny sounds just trigger tinnitus because I only hear lower sound waves after a 70% hearing loss stemming from a military related explosion. The crushers were great but at high volume could distort the lower and mid ranges a good bit, and since multiple family members had used them, they kept trying to bounce from device to device, unless everyone turned their Bluetooth off.
1-The retail price means nothing. These can be found for around $180 consistently 2-The Brown color option is 🔥 3-These support lossless audio/hi-res audio. If you are in the Apple ecosystem and enjoy Apple Music, then these headphones will be a great fit for that music profile. Just use the USB C or the wired 3.5mm to achieve lossless. Remember, bluetooth cannot achieve lossless. No pair or headphones via bluetooth can achieve that. Enjoy!
Just got these on sale for $160, other alternatives were STILL $100 more than that on discount. For your money these definitely are the best option in my opinion.
Don’t know what people have against bass but I don’t like my headphones sounding tinny ESPECIALLY in the gym, I’ve always been a fan of beats when Dr Dre first brought them out then Apple brought them and took ALL the bass out and they sounded like an over ear version of the first AirPods.. at least these new Beats they’ve added more bass while still having clarity..
@@Stretchgangchamp to me music doesn't sound right unless it has some kind of thump and I listen to a lot of genres, don't want my music sounding like a static "y" A.M. radio station
Right! They act like bass is an evil word, a lot of songs I listen to sound good with solid bass (not muddled) when I’m running I want my songs to hit!
@@R-L-I EXACTLY!! I don't want EVERYTHING sounding like OPERA!! U always get a lot of these creators thinking that the less bass the better sound NOT TRUE!!
@@levil4012I think for many hip hop heads, fans of genres like dancehall reggae etc the bass is an integral component to enjoying the music. And for ppl who want to grind hard in the gym, that mental push can come from having some good bass in your headphones. Almost like an aural workout stimulant
I wanted the Airpods Max to complete my Apple ecosystem but ordered these headphones instead because it was heavily discounted, then checked for reviews. Your review was so comprehensive that I felt less apprehensive about my blind buy and subscribed to your channel right away. Happy to report that everything you reported is indeed solid. I love these headphones so much! 👍👍
I'm not an audiophile and I absolutely love the beats. They sound similar to me, super comfortable, I love the beats logo touch controls and the spatial audio is really good. Some reviewers have been low on these but they are my favorite over the ear headphones and I've tried most of them
Beats are made for Hip Hop, R & B, EDM, etc so they are on the bass heavy side which their target market can’t get enough of!! If you don’t like them then you’re probably not their target market!!
Thanks for you review. I have bought it, they are awesome. I love listening Music with spatial audio. But, i think they are lacking of bass. I have to enable the hip hop EQ on iPhone for they sounding OK. Maybe u could have mention it ? But Thanks again for your work from France
Since the iPods Max came out I have coveted the feature set, but just could not justify the price. I’m a Beats fan and I own the PowerBeats Pro earbuds and the Solo Pro on-ear headphones, but always wanted an over-ear headphone. The Studio 3 is just too old. I’ve been waiting for years for the Studio Pro to come out, and they are exactly what I’ve been wanting for. Thank you for the through, fair, and honest review. I already bought the Studio Pro and you confirmed I made the right decision. Thank you again.
I bought these thinking the bass was going to be amazing but it’s practically nonexistent. The sound quality is so poor. At 50% volume, I can barely hear anything. I have to turn the volume up to at least 80% to hear at a decent volume. My corded apple headphones are louder and have more bass than these. These totally are not worth the money, even if you get them half off. I got some a few days ago for $169 and I’m returning them tomorrow. I like my headphones/earbuds to have bass and good volume, these things suck and lack both.
Same here, I bought a pair for the gym, half way through the workout I took them off, luckily I had my beats 2's in my gym bag, they are great for the gym, returned the pro's 🤷🏾
Never owned over the ear headphones, I have several earbuds from different manufacturers and I thought that was sufficient for me but I’ve noticed the battery life on over the ear cans is at least twice that of the best earbuds. My Beats Fit Pro is rated at 8 hours without ANC or hear through. The Studio Pro is rated at 24 hours while using one of those features. The Studio Pro is at a decent price right now I think it’s worth a look at least for me
I have the momentum 4s and I have these. I’m having a tough time choosing. Beats sounds more open have less bass and volume. Sennheisers sound clear but isolated, much warmer too. Anc is stronger as well.
I’ve been looking at these for a few weeks now, waiting for release in uk. Been using AirPods and Pro versions from start but looking into some over ear headphones for gym. I think these might work great as still within the apple ecosystem. Thanks for the review
👍🏻 for mentioning Steely Dan! Saw them live once. Superb. Air Pods Max are still exactly what they cost on launch here in NZ: never seen them discounted by even $1!
I’m basically the same about beats before apple I used to think they were to bass heavy before if i remember correctly and now at least the beats fit pro seem more balanced and clearer than the AirPods Pro in my opinion idk if anyone else feels the same
Thanks for the video it was great. I bought the brown ones they are so good. And I had an old pair of beats that also had the same crackly pads I just bought some replacements pads on Amazon for 8-10 dollars and looked brand new!
This was a really good video Jason, as are your others. I own these + 5 others, some you mentioned in the video. Here’s a question: many over-the-ear headphones sound great at high volumes. What OTR works best at low volumes (all other features being equal)? Just audio performance is what I’m interested in.
i dont really mind the negatives that you have listed but there is one major difference from these and the airpods max that has ben overlooked which is find my. Both studio pro and airpods max have find my however the beats dont have the always on feature, meaning if someone steals your beats and turns them off you wont be able to track them or if they lost charge. find my only gives the location of the last time they were on. SMH i was going to buy these.
Also they don’t have an Hx chip for some reason (other beats do afaik) which makes the « Apple » integration a little less good; but I agree they’re definitely more like what the Max should be for the next iteration.
I bought the Beats Studio Pro but found they don’t have automatic switching on iPhones only Android phones which is a pain. Which is a bit odd being an Apple company. I’m have a larger head and I wear glasses so they are uncomfortable on my ears. So if you wear glasses I would check if you suffer soreness. Yes usb audio is good and 3.5mm audio. I noticed drop outs of microphone on Bluetooth so became unusable on Teams conference calls. Works ok on usb-c or 3.5mm but Bluetooth is meant to be stable which is a pain. Not sure if this is a teams or headphone issue or my MacBook. I ended up returning them as as I have a Mac/ipad/iphone and the lack of auto switching means if you listen on iPad or Mac if you receive a call you don’t see it. You can manually move connection but it is a bit clunky and slow. If you only use a single device then it should be fine I guess. Alternatively if you use Android it apparently is brilliant but on Apple devices just isn’t as seamless as AirPods, AirPod maxes etc. it is the lack of the H1/H2 chip that is the problem. Because if this they don’t support audio sharing either. I was hoping to love them but ear pain wearing glasses and software issues meant it’s just not good. Might have to save up for AirPod Max or 2nd generation. If they support multipoint or auto switching with a software update I would probably buy them again. But currently negatives outweigh positives
@@thejasontlewis I don't listen to my 2s at full volume, but for the price, the studio pros should play louder than what they do, I listen my 2s at about 3/4 to 7/8 volume, the studio pros full volume equals about to my studio 2s 13/16 volume. Also the studio pros are a magnet for fingerprints.
Curious on this use case for you? When does this become a big deal, like at what point? Not trying to be rude or something I just dont understand when or where it makes sense to really want the auto on off so im wondering when its an issue
I found the sound of these to be decent and they get pretty loud but I don't use the anc at all or spavial audio so I'm really not sure they are worth spending $300 + on. I'm debating it honestly.
I have a [$70 beats flex] but I havent gotten a beats headphone yet [but i have been thinking about getting one as of lately] but i heard they [cost] pretty some $$ lots and so anybody know if the studio 3 are still worth it or should i go for the newest [beats studio pro]....... I heard these beats headphones brand are better than those Boses and the Apple Airpods Max.
Anybody know if other beats headphones and earbuds make the [awesome left to right bluetooth connected sound when turned on like the beats flex] which so far I only own the beats flex.........
I have listened to them in Elgiganten and they sound like 50-dollar headphones. There so bad there is nothing good about this headphone and the materials are so cheap the Beats Studio Pro are a strong contestant for worst headphones of 2023 award!! don't misled people.
You’re insane. I tested them against many other headphones and they hold their own. I’ve been reviewing headphones for more than 10 years. I find your tone and accusations insulting.
