Very informative video for someone like me that never had any airpods pro. My Airpods2 is 4yrs old and I'm thinking of upgrading to usb-c airpods pro. Thank you!
For FaceTime, since the update I’ve been having problems with the AirPods Pro 2. Whenever I use the AirPods Pro, the other side will have difficulty understanding me. That’s not an issue with the Max for me. I hope Apple will fix this. And thank you for putting the work into this content, it is really helpful.
@@aaronloudnwireless Just noticed my comment didn’t go through for some reason. So again: Thanks for the advice! I tried this before and sometimes the quality changed. But it hasn’t been better the lasst few days, so I’ve been mostly using the Max. Hoping this will be resolved in a future update.
My first impression of the USB-C version was that it sounded really good, and that "somthing was different". I did not expect any difference at all, so that was weird.
Super grateful you tested out the phone call ambient noise cancelling! I vastly prefer my 3yo+ lightning pros to my cheap company-issued headset for work (I take 20+ customer service calls a day) and my customers seem to notice a difference as well, so glad to know that it'll sound better (even if only slightly) on their end if/when I upgrade!
Just an additional information, if you really seek for a good mic quality, I suggest you to try the cable version of apple's earpods as it is still on a different level from the wireless version
Have a pair of 2023 usb-c so far well after a few hrs of owning and charging them, very impressed with sound, quality so far better than galaxy buds which keeps falling out, gone iPhone 15 pro max, new AirPods Pro 2nd gen usb-c happy with them, my brother that’s lighting ones and he said they work ok, call sounds like under water otherwise he said they were good music, video etc, so will find out some differences between us, did say they were updated a little. Well worth watching ❤good quality
Great analysis at 4:33. What about: 1) mic differences now with lightning connector firmware version 6B32? 2) any differences using the mic “voice isolation” feature built into iOS?
I used to have the Lightning ones that I got two days after Christmas in 2022, and I lost them last November, I just got the USB C ones the day after my birthday and they are pretty good, I will have to get used to the fact I don’t have Lightning anymore even though I’m getting a 3 in 1 wireless charger soon for my birthday.
I was about to type out a comment about the usb-c with lossless and the vision pro. I thought I was safe because there was only 30 seconds left in the video, glad I kept listening lmao
Apple tweak the sound signature every update (at this point I feel like they are using machine learning to make progressive enhancement), don't buy the USB C version thinking about sound upgrade from the lightning version because it's clearly not, it's the same drivers, theres a reason they still call it second generation. The microphone noise canceling is clearly a bug
I’m struggling to decipher whether I should get lightning or USB-C, would your concluding opinion be to get the lightning version? Btw I have the iPhone 14.
@@elijah_yt232 i think it only comes down to which port you want. Usb c is sort of more future proof if you’re planning to upgrade your phone soon and want to use the same cables but then you wouldn’t be able to do that with your current phone. Lightning is probably on sale now so it’s a bit cheaper.
You should make video AirPods 3 generation vs AirPods, pro 2 USBC. And the I features, and which one is better sound for watching movies and games With a special audio
It’s just they have tailored the new firmware for the new headset and broken the old one. It will be fixed. Voice isolation in iOS is at the hardware level and works in all apps.
I enjoy how you play the sound clips and show the tuning. I felt the lighting version sounded more plastic like especially in the vocals where as the usb c version sounded more clear
He was using the tiger build versions koz original ones sound crisp on audio not to mention also iOS itself got voice isolation, fake AirPods Pro review to pass as original ones
i have been subscribing to worthless channels for many many years. this brother today earned my respect. i love people who pay attention to tiny details... i will like, share, download, and pay that 1 dollar per month... you are that guy
Hey Aaron! Great video. Quick question, can you do a video on the amp/DAC on the Xperia 1 V? How is the quality of it? I've heard one website say it is as good as a hi res audio player, what is your take on the matter?
I figured out if you leave a spare air pod that doesnt belong in that specific case it will work but you have to leave it in there for days. I just was able to use a spare airpod that was previously not being recognized or giving me this is not your device errors. It use to just work, I think they stealth patched something in the last year.
Saw a video of an interview with Apple’s Exec saying that the USB C AirPods support Lossless because the H2 inside of them supports 5GHz communication while the lightning one only supports 2,4 GHz
@@Amel-fk8llif im right, loseless audio currently work just with the vision pro, but later on they’ll release updates for other devices, but im not sure which ones tbh
Will the new software version give all the features like the adaptive mode and the personalised spatial sound thingy to the lightening AirPods Pro or its just the audio quality and noise cancelling
The differences in these are not on hardware level (only difference being USB-C). Those are rather on software level. The way I see it, Apple intentionally blocks some features on older APP2, to make up for the change of the port😉. They do business, not charity. The differences in sound are practically negligible or intentional as well - up to the latest firmware everything with cutting out noises in Lightning edition was fine, now somehow it’s not. The same goes for eq (I like the one on older more tbh). I doubt that it’s by mistake, rather it’s by design. IP rating difference might as well come from that they now tested that as well (other brands have dust resistance so Apple had to check it as well in order not to look bad). I think we’ll know more AFTER Vision Pro release, because it’s main focal point of Apple right now - to make as much hype on that as possible.
If you watch Bryan Tong’s interview with Apple exec, they explained that the USB type C version runs the 5 GHz antenna. So there is a hardware difference.
Believe it or not, I purchased the USB-C version not only for the connector, but for the IP 54 Dust Rating. I work in a wood shop. It gets pretty dusty in my work environment .
@@Kevin6t8 ///but for the IP 54 Dust Rating.../// That's for the case, not the pods. You can buy the case on it's own for the same result at a fraction of the price.
i would say AirPods pro 2 lightning are better apart from the microphone testing with the wind and the noise cancelling sounds better with usb-c but other then that i like lightning better
The call quality was disappointing on both. So much whistling it was hard to hear you! I’m surprised that Apple released them like that. It sounded horrible.
So my question is if I have the lightning connector and can get my hands on a type c case. Could I put the AirPods Pro (lightning case) into the type c case and have them work ? Would you be open to testing This ? I ask as I live in New Zealand and we have the ability to purchase the case by itself through support.
@@dr.sachinbengal2618 Then get lightning. Either way, they perform the same with slight modifications on the Type-C Case. If you’re not looking for new features, get the lightning case.
@@dr.sachinbengal2618 Have you been able to make a decision? I am confused because of that question. I think I'll buy lightning one because its like 40 euro cheaper in my country.
Salute ! This is the most useful review amongst all similar videos released by other RU-vidrs. Those are complete waste of time IMHO. Thank you for your video.
I cant see the battery life of my case. My old airpods would allow me to see when whenever i opened the case on the screen of my iphone. I open the case and the battery percentage doesnt pop up at all, what is the issue?
iPhone 13 uses lighting charging, so it only makes sense for you to buy the airpods with lighting because then you would essentially need 1 cable to charge both devices instead of buying the ubs c airpods and having 2 separate chargers.
@@jimmymrls12 But if you charge your devices before you go to bed, you would be able to charge both if you got the USB-C version but not if you got the Lightning version.
That's pretty slimy that they made a release with lightning. They should have waited a few months and just released didn't for the first time at this event so people didn't get suckered into buying the older pair. Now the wealthiest among them will probably just buy a second pair, which is a waste of materials and gasoline.... And those that don't have the money probably feel slighted that they ended up with an inferior version of the product. The very least they could have announced that there was a USbC version pending
A lot of people need a second pair given the eventual very short battery life with regular use. AirPods are Apples new way of making money, you can have your iPhone for years before needing to upgrade but with AirPods you need to upgrade more frequently.
there is a huge difference... better noise isolation and even transparency mode had less delay... also a bit better sound quality.. if reviewer says they can't tell the difference they don't have good ears... I might add that I had the first gen airpod 2 lightning...
So I got the lightning AirPods Pro 2 the month they released. I use them daily and they have really great features and some really really bad ones. Pros: sound is amazing, anc and transperancy equally so. Cons: case has drain issues and isn’t water resistant like the new one. Headphones can’t dual pair to two new apple products.. my seven year old Bose can fine. If I’m connected to my MacBook and leave without manually pairing to my iPhone.. they will sit and make the pair/unpair sound indefinitely. And maybe my biggest issue. I contacted Apple and the only way they’d consider a replacement was logging into my phone and AirPods remotely.. it felt intrusive. She even knew one was still out of the case (wasn’t set right inside) and the only offer required a lot of effort so.. I live with it. The case has to be charged constantly so I just use a Qi mat and set on that all the time. The sound though is great. I am partially deaf and transperancy is like a poor-man’s hearing aide for me. I use a lot as I’m taking care of my 90 year old grandma and sometimes I couldn’t hear her yelling for me.. now I can for better or worse. I wish I had the type-c and I paid full price direct from apple.. was like $280 shipped 🥲
