Airpods Pro: Quick Fixes for Sound Issues 

Spent ton of time looking for a solution for muffled mic sound on audio calls. This actually worked! Most of the people in the internet threads think it's software problem, but seems like it's all about dusty mics. Little mics at the bottom didn't change anything, but when I finished with the black ones on sides - airpods just started to work as new with no problems.

I watched your video today. For 3 weeks my mics were not working. I used a straight pin and now mics instantly worked! Thank you!

My right airpod has been horrible lately with lots of static and distortion. I followed the tutorials advice and wiped out the mic at the tip and it works flawlessly!!!!!! THX 10000000000

You’re a true hero! I always knew the crackling was a issue with the microphones but I always thought this was just an Air Vent or something, thanks man! Fixed the crackling on my AirPods. Will probably still replace them once stores open again.

My first pair of Pros from November 2019 had miserable static in the left bud after 2 months that I couldn't fix no matter what, so I got an AppleCare+ replacement pair in February 2020 and after 2 months developed even worse static in the left bud than the previous pair (and once again, I wasn't able to fix it). As of October 2020 I'm now on my 3rd pair (2nd replacement), and so far so good.

I’ve been having problems with mine for a while now, and this worked pretty well. I’m probably gonna get some rubbing alcohol to take some time to really clean then, but a small brush did wonders for these. My transparency mode and noise canceling immediately was better. Thank you, I never would have found that tiny hole where the mic is!

Yes I learned to clean the charging area on the headphones and use a cotton swap to clean the charging connectors in the case too

This helped because it’s true that some particles can get inside the bottom of the case. Some good old q-tips worked to clean down those holes.

YMMV … Just cleaned mine and the feedback I had in one of them become far worse. But at least now they’re clean, even if the transparency and noise reduction features aren’t usable.

Finally a video out of many I've seen that addresses an issue I'm having. I had no idea about the small tiny microphone at the bottom but it definitely had something to do with what's going on. My issue with mine are that the noise control wasn't functioning correctly. I could turn on any of the three options but wouldn't be able to discern any difference from transparency to noise canceling. I cleaned out the small tiny mic then my right side started working again but left side after cleaning is still will not working correctly. Not sure if I missed something or what. Thank you for making a video about this that others didn't mention.

These Echo Buds were basically an impulse buy on Prime Day. ru-vid.comUgkxK5mc3yw4xA7Mf2j6k6n1Uqv_KUgrKdeM I've lately gotten into pod casts and needed a convenient way to listen. These fit the bill. I am no techie but had no problem with set up. It did take a couple tries to realize Echo Buds will only connect to one device at a time - at least it seems that way for me. The tap controls are 'very' sensitive and the sound is clear. I've been using these off and on much of the day for a couple hours at a time with no discomfort. I'm quit pleased with this purchase and will prob bite the bullet and join Audible to help get through all those books waiting to be read.

Thanks man, I managed to fix mine but just after I called in support to receive a replacement for my AirPods Pro. At least I can still use it while my replacement comes in lol.

I looked at all mics & cleaned them. I could run my hand over my iPod in that spot and hear it in my ear or on recording but I did not see the mic until watching your video! Thank you! I hope this clears it out!

Thank you so much. I already replaced a pair thinking it was a software issue, then ran into the issue again. A quick deep clean with a alcohol wipe did the trick

Though not related to AirPods Pro but was facing issues with the AirPods 3 low music/video volume even at max levels. Tried this trick and it worked like a charm. It was indeed the dust in the microphone holes that was causing the problem in the audio. Thanks much for this video.

I dropped my right airpod in the snow a few months ago and when I try transparency mode the mic on it barely works. I've tried using a pin, on the top and bottom mics, canned air, and even alcohol. Nothing works.

Great video. I wish I had found it sooner. I had sent back two pairs of AirPod pros due to this. I had a feeling it was because they were dirty but I never knew about that hole by the metal tips

Use blue poster tac to clean out those little ports. It pulls it right out.

i have issues with my left airpod too… it makes a high pitch noise when i touch it, but this only happens when it’s on transparency mode/noice cancelation.

cleaning that small opening in the back did not fix my problem with transparency mode sounding exactly like noise cancellation mode

Thanks for showing the mic in the stem. Mounting putty (for posters) is great for grabbing some dirt out. I had some chocolate melt in the mic. It's ok now.

Very helpful, thanks. I would try the end of a wooden toothpick before chancing it with a sharp safety pin.

Try with Blue Tac, sticks those things out clean. Brushing is prone to push it inward

I had both of them replaced because they would work with the left, work with the right, but both would not pair together, they also had the static problem. I got them replaced for free, but the left one started crackling again. Got that replaced on Friday. No more problems yet

Man I just bought a set of airpod pros for €50 after watching this. Took a chance on them, right airpod was nothing but static, no music played through it etc .....cleaning the mic and grills worked. I'm actually amazed that simple fix solved it and I just saved €150 on what I would of spend on them

Omg! I’ve been having feedback issues whenever I cough or brush my hand over the outside mesh above the stem. I’ve watched soooo many cleaning and self repairs videos and none of them mention the mic or recommend cleaning that mesh over the stem! Thank you so much for making this video!

I’m on my second pair (since launch day). The only issue ive had is when a large truck or car goes past when I’m out i get a loud hum in the right ear. Both pairs have done this. I ended up covering the top vent/mic. I don’t know if this has an impact on the ANC, it seems to improve it slightly, but it stops the feedback. Didnt know about the little mic on the stems though. Thanks for pointing these out.
