first you must be kidding did you just say the airpods pro and airpods max have the best anc you must've been drinking the best anc is the xm5, xm4, bose quiet comfort, then the other bose earbuds then airpods and don't know why compare everything to airpods they are nowhere near the best earbuds. airpods are like top 10 maybe in best earbuds airpods have great sound but nowhere near what like atleast 30 other earbuds sound like

I am not a sound expert but just an observation; wouldn't a person need to test various kinds of music with the earphones to judge sound quality? It would seem to me that using only one type of music would provide one kind of observation or experience? Classical, house, jazz, opera , techno, metal , R & B vocals or whatever might show a more balanced evaluation of the ear bud?

Listen with Bose 35s somethin and that songs got to go in my play list. Yeah, vs over the ear noise cancelation, is the a contrast over buds? Personally in my work flow I need to block as much noise as possible.

Is it true they removed the feedback voice yano were ya take em out the case and the lass says "battery about 50%" or whatever or when ya turn on ANC says "Noise Cancelling". Is it fully removed or can it be switched back on.

I'm a galaxy fan to I had all the galaxy buds and back but it depends on what you want if you want the best sounding earbuds that's the bang and olufsen eq or ex if you want best anc then thats either the bose quiet comfort or the sony xm5 I have the bang and olufsen eq cause I hate the stim earbuds

I have XM3, XM4, Air Pod Pro 2, Galaxy Pro 2, Soundcore Liberty Pro 2 and the Sennheiser Momentum 2. 1. I returned Apple and Sennheiser within 2 weeks. The Apples I would have kept if they were $100. The Sennheiser I returned because they were too bright and I wasnt crazy about the build quality because I drop buds a lot. 2. I bought a SECOND pair of the Galaxy buds because they are by far the most natural fit in my ears and seemed to work well for calls. And Samsung had an aggressive trade in and weekend sale where each was $99. 3. The XM4 had by far the best sound, highs that were always just the right level never too high. Rich sound and good bass. The app was great but could be better like EarStudio and Qudelix have with 10 band equalizer.

I had both but my Favorite pair is the Bang & Olefsen EX. Great Sound Quality but I haven't found the best for Bass I think my Air Pods Pro 2 have the better Bass for earbuds. The Bass King for over the ears are Skull Candy the ones with the Vibrating Bass. And I like this song too CJ. Who sings that? Are they on Apple Music?

Anc on these are amazing. I have airpod pro 2 and bose qc II. The anc on the sonys are on par with both. You may have a defective unit since its preproduction.

I just tested wearing condition with every tip size and I cant get an air tight seal unfortunately

@@austinslater4773 yeah possibly. I just switched to the large tips ironically and they are giving me the closest experience to a sealed one so I'll use these in the next video. I might have to get third party ear tips

@@CJKnowsTECH aww man. have you tried squeezing the mediums on all sides then putting them in your ear so they will expand? That's what worked for me. I also have the comply foam tips on the way for back-up.

Does anyone know how I put my new pair of Sony WF-1000XM5 in pairing mode? I used to hold both sensors for around 5 seconds on my WF-1000XM4, but this does not work on my XM5s.

Not sure what the WH-1000XM5's are like CJ, but the XM4's before it were absolutely PHENOMENAL and the bass that came out of them are for lack of a better word 'bone rattling' (I have a pair of them myself). They are a DEFINITE step up from the XM3's though. And the noise cancellation is on par with the Bose QC headphones, minus the pressure effect that you got from the Bose headphones. Doesn't block out absolutely everything, but the vast majority it does.

Yeah, when you said the low end and anc was lacking, that was my first thought. Sony has some of the best anc in my opinion.

It's so weird that reviewers are under completely different opinions about the ANC on these earbuds. I'm assuming it's either because not everyone is using foam eartips which does a lot for the ANC compared to silikone eartips and because the seal isn't the same on different ears, as well as people have different hearing, so they hear different things :i But it's so confusing that some say "best ANC on the market" and others say: "meh, nothing special". Very confusing indeed :i

Airpods are just well rounded in convenience features and overall performance. Other items have better sound quality but tend to lack in other areas so it's all preference at that point

This is true. I tried all tips but the large ones. After switching to those I got a different experience which will be reflected in my upcoming versus video. I also might have to try 3rd party tips for my ears. Respect

ear tips fit would either make or break an ear buds listening session. the fact the CJ finds the ANC lack luster is indicative that the tips provided by sony were not ideal for his ear canal. CJ can only provide an honest opinion of his personal experience, for that I give him respect, however his experience does contradict most of the other reviews on RU-vid. I'm not a fan of any of Sony ear buds but i do love my Sony MDR-Z7M2 closed-back over-ear with a proper amp. B&O EX are my wireless go-to for the gym or my Liberty Soundcore 3 pro.

UMM...didn't Sony already admit that everyone that got their press units were using bad versions with bad sound, ANC, and bad mics? They claim that the retail versions are the ones that work like they were designed? And Bose QCII is the best ANC in the world dude, even better than the Apple

If you're just sticking the foam in your ear you have the wrong size tips you should have to squeeze it put it in your ear and let it expand The ANC will be incredible if you put them in right.

Just got my Sony WF-1000XM5s. Noise cancellation is better than Airpod Pro 2 and worse than Bose QCII for me. It takes the largest foam tip on the Sonys to get the best ANC, and it's not comfortable for long. I wish I could have Sony's connectivity, Apple's mic/call quality and "find my" features, and Bose's ANC in the same product. It just doesn't exist yet. I'm not an audiophile and the sound quality on all of them is great for me - but ANC is the biggest issue for me, and the only brand that has the ANC I want has hellish connectivity issues. Now I have to decide whether to send the Sonys or the Bose back (Airpods already returned for the Bose before - I can only afford to keep one set).

@@danielleroberts8252 For foam eartips, it’s best to roll the tips between your index and thumb so that you compress them before inserting in your ear canal. This allows them to go deep enough for a comfortable seal before they expand. You may even need a different size for each ear. It’s possible a size smaller than large works better as the ear canal typically gets more narrow as you go pass the opening. I’m not really a fan of foam because of this process and the fact that they’re expensive and need to be replaced way too often for my liking. I have Spinfit CP360 (silicone) on my XM4 earbuds but I’m concerned that won’t work well enough on the XM5 as I understand the performance loss is more drastic when switching to silicone compared to the XM4. AREGINA’s review for the XM5 is excellent in covering everything in an objective way with measurement data to back things up. Personally, I would stay away from the Bose QC II. If you’re not sure about the XM5 I would go for the AirPods Pro 2, especially if you have an iPhone or some other Apple device to tweak and update them as necessary. They’re just a really solid all around pair with little compromise. Because as you explained, it is a matter of wanting all the positives from different top tier earbuds rolled in to one. AirPods Pro and Sony’s XM series are always in the discussion for top spots.
