Hey Buggs! I'm a pilot, and controllers actually do tell aircraft to speed up and slow down. They do it to keep legal separation from other aircraft. I've been told myself to keep "best forward speed" because there is a faster plane behind me.
This was really enjoyable man. I love watching these ATC videos you make. Keep doing this amazing work :) I am very much an avgeek and even though your other videos are amazing I just love your ATC videos.

I had the game on my Phone once and I would not recommend it at all (on a mobile). Free sounds better than it actually is, you get only one boring ariport and can pay for every single extra airport, so for the money you would spend for all the airports there, are better games.
Let me just assure everyone here why he's not doing a doj episode, awhile back on a doj episode on criminal activity (Part 2) ended he made another episode explaining he's taking a break and why. He was doing it cause he was getting bored. He recently uploaded a video I think last or two weeks ago on ocrp with jeff on neighbors back or whatever, from the other doj videos. So if your wondering that's why. Watch polecat for doj videos and ocrp is jeff. He's trying to do more videos of different stuff. So stop asking please i'm trying to help you guys understand whats the problem and why he's not doing doj videos, even though it pains me to see only a tense of doj videos. It doesn't matter to me all watch his channel when I enjoy his content so until then im watching polecat except some of the episodes he makes of some games I enjoy.
Trooper Joseph UDHP Well said. He took a break from DoJ for two reasons: one is to help Jeff get OCRP out there and second is because he started running out for ideas on DoJ and it was starting to run dry. I, like everyone else, want to see him return to DoJ so I can hopefully patrol with him 😂
Hey Buggs, the reason it ask some planes to cross and others not too it’s because when you click the landing plane and “Expedite off” you no longer have to tell them cross but then it’ll leave room for end of the runway crashes. Great vid man, keep it up !
I live near SFO, they use the 1's and 28's instead of the other way around. 28's are used for landings (over water, less of the issues involved with flying over a large city), and 1's and 28's are used for takeoffs. 28's are usually used for takeoffs of larger aircraft, with them being longer. Oftentimes you'll see two planes on synchronized takeoffs or landings, side-by-side. Just a factual tidbit :) Well played!
Same here. I live in the South Bay and every time I fly to Taipei on EVA AIR I'm on 28L, only twice landed and took off on 28R. However I flew a Hawaiian A332 twice, and it took off from 1L both times. When the wind shifts a little or the weather is bad sometimes the control tower doesn't use the 1s at all and sends smaller narrow body jets to take off from the 28s with the big planes as well as all the arrivals. I remember flying to Vegas on Southwest and took off from 28L.
You slowed the closer plane down and sped the rear plane up so then back plane flew into the one about to land ! Loved this video and i love all aviation stuff
Pro tip Buggs. SFO uses 01’s and 28’s. Most takeoff on 01’s and all land on 28’s. Few takeoff on 28’s but just occasionally. This keeps the aircraft from cluttering the taxiways. Also, they do simultaneously land AND takeoff! Amazing video though Buggs! Keep it up. 🤙
@bayareabuggs just a tip, you could line planes up in the order of 10L, 10R, 10L, 10R etc to always allow more traffic to flow. By doing so you can send other traffic to 19L & 19R in the same order. That is the way to always (or most of the time) have planes landing and taking off parallel
You didnt want to use to runways for takeoffs? Solution: when you let someone line up and wait on 10R, you can go ahead and let second aircraft cross 10R and line up on 10L, and then let both aircraft taking off. I’ve seen it many times in SFO. When tandem taking off, one aircraft will make a left climb, and the other one makes a Righthand climb. During Landing, it’s completely legit to do 2 simultaneous landing in sync. Totally fine. I'd do a thing where you do phases towards the more packed traffic times where you do all the takeoffs in one go if you have a lot like you did in the hong kong airport to at least get rid of them and then have more ti
I had fun with this for a while a few years ago but what I didn't like was that there was no "mission objective" to achieve as far as i could tell, you simply have to keep landing and taking off with no end goal to aim for, unless they've brought out a later version with that feature.
I personally have this game and the original AM3D on my iPad mini, so I am sure that you can get it on your phone. You should do Miami next in this series, as it is thoroughly enjoyable to play. Thank you for the entertaining content!
If you send all takeoffs to line up at 10R. You can send one to 10L then the next to 10L and take off at same time. That way the queue stays at the R but you're able to take off 2 at a time
Real ATC has told me to both to give them my best forward speed and they've also asked me to slow down for spacing. Speed restrictions are also pretty common going into bigger airports. Multiple times I've also been told to expedite departure and expedite off the runway
I don’t know about larger planes but when I’ve flown I got to do a double landing, it was a bit scary at first because the patterns are on opposite sides so we were heading right at each other for the base to final. Looked pretty cool on landing though. (Planes were both Cessna 172’s) Also, 100% ATC will tell aircraft to speed up or slow down. Pilot can refuse for safety reasons but then they typically have to go around. They will also tell you to expedite or hold for traffic.
