We have a 1963 24 ft Avion also. It's in need of TLC but has good bones & all original interior. We always wanted to renovate it but haven't so we are currently in the process of selling it to someone local who loves remodeling Avions.
Hi guys, great restoration talent! Would you have any suggestion or resources on how to replace the poorly designed screen door to a vintage Avion? How would you make custom replacement wood screen door that is curved/arched like the original? The existing one has huge gaps all the way around, and the design of screening part is such that it pops out so easily, like by accidentally pushing the wrong section when going out with your hands full! Also the gaps around the sliding pane part, that has to open for the main door to close, has lots of open space (for bugs or dust/dirt to enter.) I've placed a few strips of velcro between the screen door and the frame to help keep it closed more tightly, but overall, it's a crappy door and would like to find a way to make a custom wood replacement that is more durable and functional.
