because that is the best method and most easy and safe? :) also i saw another tech doing the same when we are talking about those surface mounted caps. Aslo in the past i have tried: 1. heat legs with soldering iron - that is worst of all since solder and corroded due to electrolyte and because of that melting point is higher and because of that pcb damage is the most cases present . 2. hot air station using is DANGEROUS - fumes and exploding caps. 3. cutting them without forcing with sharp pliers - BEST SUCCESS RATE WHEN YOU ARE TRYING TO SAVE PCB TRACKS.
