What questions do you have about the AJ Armstrong case? This extended edition of The Evidence Room episode goes more in-depth on AJ's older brother, Josh.
That's Channel 2 love this station. I live in Houston and I was on your news a few years ago when there was a bomb threat on metro. I really appreciate you all bringing this post case to light. I admit I was obsessed with this case and really appreciate you all for bringing it to a lot of people who wanted to know more of this trial. I've kept up with it from the beginning...Also I have the KPRC2 App on my phones and ipads...👍🏽 Great Job covering this...
Did AJ change clothes? Where were his bloody clothes? The gloves? Something tells me he was wearing a hoodie or long sleeved shirt and some gloves for there to had been no gun powder and the hoodie was protecting his shirt underneath hence only a couple of blood specs.
Im so tired of people using the excuse of being scared as a reason to lie to police. If I heard gun shots in my parents room and the cops showed up I would be running into their arms. Not lying to them if I did nothing wrong.
Absolutely I would tell the truth about everything because I'm scared, not lying especially if I had nothing to do with it... The grandmother is making excuses. She won't let herself believe her grandson did this. I'm still wondering where is the love and justice for her son and daughter n law. She only spoked once about them. I think she refuse to see the truth. She put all her focus on Saving AJ...
The fact that he was at his parents funeral sitting in the front row with the family knowing he put a bullet in their heads sickens me! Just pure evil!
His grandmother is living in la la land. She just doesn't want to accept the fact that her grandson is a murderer. Because if AJ didn't do it, then who did? Honestly, AJ should've taken the stand, but the defense knew the prosecution would have eaten him alive asking him to explain all of the circumstantial evidence and the web of lies.
After listening to the entire interrogation, it was obvious from the beginning that those investigators were onto AJ because he got caught in some lies which they immediately called him out on. Also, it is of my belief that the break-in at the parents' gym after the murders was staged and the prostitution ring story offered up by the family friend was fabricated--all presumably orchestrated by the family--in an effort to divert the gaze of guilt away from AJ. I think those "developments" were the family's desperate last-ditch attempts to create an alternate theory because they very well knew that AJ was up against a mountain of compelling evidence I'm still unsure as to whose idea it was to blame the brother because during the interrogation, AJ never really implicated him...at least not directly. So I'm not too sure if it was his defense team's idea or a collaborative effort
@@nujerusalemtv809 I think he felt like he was entitled to something. Clearly, you can tell he didn't like his mom because he made sure she was dead. Also, the disparaging remarks he was making about his mother stating nobody gets along with her. He threw a lot of people off because of his demeanor and the debonair of his character, but he is a monster. I heard through the grapevine from a CO that he is getting it bad in prison. It's sad that he's never getting out, but he just can't kill two people at will and get away with it.
His grandmother is sadly delusional. AJ did it. The evidence points to him. Also, his minimal reaction to the death of his parents says enough for me. I hope that dude rots in prison.
No type of emotion and both of your parents just been murdered😔😪😪💔 you laughing in interviews and in court and accused his brother of this horrific crime he know he did, He's Wicked and Evil
she's not delusional, its just her love for grandson, which makes her believe he didn't do it, your grandparents would probably feel the same, if you was accused of a crime, weather the evidence point to you or not
@@welchtina Then crying after he was found guilty. No one made her marry and produce a child with a criminal. I don't feel sorry for his family. I feel for his parents and Josh.
I find it quite telling AJ did it when he accused his own brother. He KNOWS he committed the murders so he is willing to go to EXTREME measures to stay out of prison. To me, it is an EXTREME measure to accuse your OWN BROTHER for the death of BOTH of your parents. To me, that is just something else that leans you towards thinking AJ commited the crime. Had he NOT been desperately looking for a way to get himself out of the crime he committed, he wouldve been there for his brother that just lost his (their) parents! AJ is a scum bag that will prolly eventually get parole at least 40 years. Killing your own parents is cold which means he would be willing to kill anyone.
Yeah I was thinking that also. This demon can say what he wants. He definitely shot his parents or at the very minimum is involved but i believed he pulled that trigger by himself. The only way youd know your sister wasnt the one shot is if she wasnt shot and youd have to be there to know that. Sadly, he is eligible for parole. Id like to know what the issue was with his parents
@@Ghetto-toaster22 Right, the family and girlfriend should be very concerned for their safety. He lies with a straight face and effortless tears... chilling.
@@void________ Your right! They should be VERY concerned! I seen zero emotion coming from AJ regarding his now deceased parents. Like absolutely zero. He is super cold in just the way he acts and talks abt it. If and when he gets out, someone else will die at AJ’d hands. If you are willing to kill your own parents then you would kill anyone. His gf and his gma are both delusional and need to seperate themselves from him fr bro! Shits crazy. Id like to know like what their family life was like before the murders. Like why do that? What could make you hate your parents that bad?
To the Defense Attorney: Yes I could. I could spend time around AJ Jr and still believe he did it. Most Narcs are charming They can appear to be the nicest, kindest, warmest people you would ever want to meet. But beneath the mask is an entire different person. I have survived people like this in my life. I could write three best sellers based on what I've been through. The thing that gets me the most, is when he was told that his mother was deceased. He kept up with the conversation. Seems, he didn't even bat an eye. He didn't need a moment to gather himself, compose himself, shed tears, let out a scream or anything. I've seen other crimes committed by a close relative who placed something on top of the deceased. Such as pillows, baskets and the like. The grandmother is okay with blaming Josh, Dawns son, but not her grandson. The hypocrisy. Also, he knew his sister was alive and well. "We gotta go outside, the police are here, I called 911. Let's go, come on, the alarm won't set just...just...just grab my hand..." Why did he even mention anything abt the alarm system on the 911📞 while waking his sister to go outside?! Too much unnecessary detail/info is a telltale sign that something's up
That defense attorney claims he was best friends with Antonio senior what a lie. Defending his “best friends” killer while throwing their other son other the bus … everyone involved in supporting aj needs deliverance
The defense attorney was doing whatever he could to defend AJ. They weren't allowing the prostitution ring related threats as an alternative, so AJ really had no other way to go. I don't think Josh did it, but I also don't believe AJ did it either. I really gotta pray on this one because the prosecutions motive sounds dumb, and Dawn's text message could've just been coincidental, and they're painting it as evidence from the grave.
AJ did it. Follow the evidence please. I was defending AJ for years until I looked at the evidence. The night of the murders the alarm clock was NOT faulty according to the records. They were able to pin point the actual dates of alarm working vs not working.
That was not the defence attorney. There were two white men in the documentary. It was the other guy sitting with grandma(Antonio seniors mother)who was the best friend. AJ lived with him for years.
What is more likely is the police planting evidence. Also the family supporting AJ meaning they did not care if he did it or not they wanted the charges dropped.
I'm glad she's Not my grandmother!!! You can look at her! And they always put the Lord in it!. The Lord didn't have anything to do with this MURDER!!!! PLEASE!!!
U don't even need gun shot residue or blood splatter to know he is guilty. That 911📞 alone is enough. He was being overly-descriptive and intentionally evasive abt simple stuff.
So the grandmother doesn't "care how many times he LIED" isn't her "DISMISSING EVIDENCE"?!?! The EXACT same thing she's accusing the prosecution of doing???
After listening to the entire interrogation, it was obvious from the beginning that those investigators were onto AJ because he got caught in some lies which they immediately called him out on. Hearing them blame Josh ticks me off. How can you blame Josh when he was at home with his GF and playing video games with their cousin even AJ mentioned he showed up when the police were there with their cousin. So they were flat out lying on Josh.
Right! It’s just a shame because even people in Houston are trying to say that allegedly it’s Josh and the cousin who broke into the gym. Something is off with this family.

I used to have a lovely mechanic - big personality, popular, well known in the community. I also never would have thought he would murder his wife & kill himself in front of his kids. A lot of times you don't see these things coming
What was AJ so scared about that he needed to lie? Plus, I guess the grandmother doesn't believe any of the texts between her daughter-in-law and AJ. Also, I never once heard her defend AJ's brother Josh when the Defense team tried to pin the murders on him.
True, I think she was so caught up in defending AJ who she thought was her angel grandson. She let her emotions go for her son and daughter n law to keep him out jail.
You are correct. She is delusional spewing out all those lies we see where he gets it from. I bet if they let him out and he goes to live with them they will experience that fear those parents had then they would see the error of their ways.
P.S. Some are asking why we think AJ is guilty. Kayra cried on the stand. She was full of emotion when she had speak of the night her parents were murdered. Josh, due to immense grief, may not be able to live life normally anymore. You see how it has affected them. As for AJ, all he has said is that the circumstances has forced him to mature in ways you wouldn't expect anyone his age to. We have not seen him grieve his parents. We have not seen him break down about this tragedy. I'm not sure if it's just me, but I don't know of anyone who can take death this easily. The only thing which seems to bother him is not being able to live freely after what transpired on the night of his parents demise.Other than that, he seems very put together. Even in the courtroom, he doesn't strike me as someone who has grieved the loss of his parents. Rather, we see him slightly smirking. Does he even have a conscience? Pray for this man!
How does anyone grieve when concurrently, he is charged with THE MURDER OF HIS PARENTS. This is not justice for this kid. Three trials says the evidence was unconvincing. A prosecution that was ill prepared? Foreign DNA found on AJ's clothing MID TRIAL. An alarm system that was defective! This is infuriating!
@@gailtrotman5256 You rather believe lies and protect a killer who was just sentence to killing over his beautiful mother and father's death. Where is the sympathy for them. What is it that some people see this lier and killer as innocent I can't see nobody wanting these church going college pro football own their own business would want to kill them. They put their son in private school which is expensive go to his games bought him a car. And right before their deaths it's only bad texts of him. His mom was tired of him lying, sneaking out the house, failing grades in school, smoking marijuana. Do any of you people watch real life crimes. A freaking 13 year old boy killed his mom in Florida because she was strict on his grades. And a kid 8 years old killed his mom over a gaming system. And the lil kid I think was 6 or 7 shot his teacher. Nobody but AJ wanted his parents dead. If not proven who did it? They couldn't find evidence of a fake prostitution ring or intruder. Josh had a strong alibi. So where is the evidence someone else did it? Where is the intruder DNA, Fingerprints, proof of windows and front door broken into or burglary? The alarm picking up all AJ movements from the Time police arrived and the alarm was set off and AJ had to put in the code to deactivate it. So why the alarm records didn't show the intruder deactivated it and reset it? Find the dad's gun know they are sleeping AJ see the intruder he leaves AJ alive and go to the kitchen to write a note leave it and the pen and dad's gun. This new generation is dumb. Only people with smart common sense can tell a blind man AJ did this. I hope he never gets out of prison...
@@gailtrotman5256 By the way not so smart person. it has to be proven by laboratory DNA with the dad's blood to prove it was on AJ's shirt. If it wasn't true it would not have made it to court. I believe that is why it was two mistrials the last two prosecutors didn't do a good job. But the 3rd time new prosecutors got it right. I think you didn't listen to nothing in this broadcast because you stuck on AJ. You now can go see him in Huntsville Texas and put money on his books. Because he have 40 years in prison...
His sister and their grandmother are seriously standing by him but painting Josh as a bad person whew im so glad he got the sentence he was suto get ! Rip to Antonio and Dawn ❤
Lady that boy killed those people. Stop the madness. The prosecution might have made up evidence but we all know he did it, by any means necessary. Get him off the streets. And the fact they would do josh like that? SMH!!!
The blood spatter evidence three trials later is very suspect. I wholeheartedly believe AJ is guilty of murder, and find it atrocious that his extended family chose Josh to be the sacrificial lamb because he has no blood ties to them. However; the blood evidence linking him three trials later is too convenient.
I am leaning toward evidence of contamination with the T-Shirt but I think he did it too. Its a little too convenient. Blood drying in mid air yet undetectable to the eye. No place else on the shirt the DNA is found except under a name tag which has held in place over 7 years cmon.. He went on to become a husband, a father also which is so suspect

Listen that grandma don’t want to face the harsh truth that her grandson is a cold blooded heartless murder. In the call to police he said his ears was ringing. He whispered “it’s me fault” on the call. How did the killer know where to find his father’s gun? How did the killer know to look specifically in those kitchen draws to write a note. They would have already had the note prepared. Why would they leave the murder weapon next to the note? His stories to the cops were very inconsistent. His own mother said that the boy is a vicious liar and will lie to your face at drop of a dime. Also how did he know his parent were dead without going in the room and that his little sister wasn’t dead. also if he had to pass his parent’s room to get to his sister’s room how did he know she wasn’t dead too. That random story he told about showing his friend the gun and shooting through the pillow is clear that he is the murder and he never named that friend. Why? If you are innocent you wouldn’t lie. You would try recall everything to the best of your abilities and tell things as you remembered them and you would be terrified and to seek real help. He killed his parents. His grandma I feel sorry for her but she needs to wise up. she strikes me as the type to protect the bad behaviors of her sons. She is an entire mammy a very dangerous person to have around you. She will watch you sleep with a killer and proclaim them as angels. 🤦🏾♀️
.. i’m already tired of hearing about this case, and him. he was never innocent to begin with, law enforcement dropped the ball with this case like they do so many others. he’s guilty. let’s focus on catching the people behind child and human trafficking among other rampant crime and cases in Houston.
Grandma making excuses for his lies. I was shocked when she said she didn't care how many lies he told...he was scared. So, Grandma, why was AJ doing so much lying, but his brother and sister weren't? She sure didn't do any taking up for Josh. How did the masked man get in and out without tripping the alarm? Who reset the alarm for AJ to have to turn off to let the cops in?
It happens more than you think. Lawyers have a job to do and if they do not defend their client to the best of their ability that could lead to retrial
“I had nothing to do with this.” Not ‘ I didn’t hurt my parents,’ but ‘I had nothing to do with this.’ That sounds so cold, not scared but very cold blooded.
If u listen to the entire interrogation, he mentioned that they won't find any gunshot residue on him multiple times. He mentioned it so much that he thought in the absence of such, they wouldn't be able to find him guilty. He had a morbid fixation on that particular aspect which leads me to believe that he did extensive research on how to get rid of it

"I don't care how many times he lied" - crazy grandma What an absolutely disrespectful spit in the face to the victims. Nasty, nasty, vile excuse for a woman.
Kay Winston (his grandmother) talks about a police who didn’t come forward to tell what AJ said at the scene yet she didn’t come forward to say when she arrived at the scene and found out AJ was a suspect, she said “if AJ did this it was the drugs” She knows he did this.
@@davisb4782Yes , it was mentioned in an article from the first trial and brought up again in the second. Which the GM claimed her words were taking out of context. Also, google about a jail convo with someone named ‘Izzy’ and even google how the Aunt Renee Winston responded to a question about a disturbing allegation about AJ. It really shows how deep they will go to protect this man. Very disturbing and heartbreaking for Dawn and AJ Sr.
She so knows. She kept going "if he was guilty how could we support him??? How could a mother do that???" because at some point some deep part of her she'll never acknowledge realized there's no other explanation, and she probably feels like she betrayed her son and daughter-in-law. She didn't. She was confused and grief-stricken. I want to say the problem is her not realizing that fawning over the grandson is somewhat rejecting the non-murderous family she DOES have left and especially disrespecting the victims, but then again, the surviving family was also on AJ's side, so who knows what the full family dynamic and pressures were like.
So he could use that in his defense....hes a caring father, husband, blah blah blah. Knows hes guilty so wants the judge to take all that into consideration.
@@kellytedder5225 ur probably right, glad it didn’t work, he is guilty as charged I knew he was guilty when he threw his brother under the bus, there is no way if I didn’t do it I would just offer up my sibling, police would have to do their job and get me some great evidence to convince me..but if I were guilty I would probably send them my siblings way to get the heat off me.
If my parents were murdered and I was scared, the last thing I would do is lie, especially if I didn't do nothing wrong. The grandmother supposed to be a Godly woman in the church, what happened to thou shall not lie. She is ok with her grandson being a lier, than being truthful and honest if he did no wrong. Regardless of the alarm system, where is the proof someone else was in the house? Their would be DNA, Fingerprints, broken doors, windows, burglary or something pointing to someone else. Who else came in the house and where is the proof? Make it make sense. I watch crime shows a lot of people try to cover their crimes. But if it proves nobody was in that house. It was AJ or his sister the only two people that was left alive. If you want someone dead, why would you break in their house, know when they are sleeping, and know where the dad's gun is at. And AJ see you and you let him live and left the gun at the scene. Why the alarm went off when police arrived so the intruder set it...
its her love for her grandson which makes her believe he didn't do it, Godly women or not, your grandparents would probably feel the same, if you was accused of a crime

@@BodyglassFlaws I really think the robbery at the parents' gym after the murders was staged and the prostitution ring sorry made-up. I won't be surprised if the family orchestrated it all in an effort to try to save AJ seeing the amt. of evidence he was up against
How is the grandmother saying that AJ said he told a officer about a mask intruder, but didn't mention it to 911? Only when he was being interrogated. Ma'am that was not hear say, those words was spoken by AJ he saw a mask intruder. May I add, there was no proof off break in, no mask intruder fingerprints or DNA left in the house. So who was the mask intruder? How he get in and out the house, was it a ghost...🤦🏽♀️
Then when the defense tactic didn't make no sense of the mask intruder because they couldn't prove it was a mask intruder. What did they do, go after the brother josh with no proof he did it. His phone records and girlfriend as a witness put him at home. Remember AJ called josh first before calling 911, so how he did it. And why would he show up to the house distraught? This is so simple and common sense, and someone can't be too smart if they can't see AJ is Guilty...
What was interesting about the interrogation was that AJ didn't know how much the interrogators knew so he kept changing his story to fit whatever new info was being fed to him which the officers caught onto. He realized that he would have to identify the friend who he claimed he was playing around with the gun with so he then changed it up and said he fired the gun after the "friend" went home
For the grandmother its hard to lose a child and then have the grandchild charged with committing the crime. Denial kicks in and all sense of logical reasoning goes out the window. But as a pastor you should care how many times your grandson lies. Scared or not if you are not guilty of anything then he should of had no problem telling the truth. And if you as the grandmother has no problem with him lying then therein lies the problem. Just sad. I pray healing for all who were affected by this.
And how come when they were sus of him and listen him as a suspect, the grandmother said "If Aj did this, it has to be drugs"? It doesnt change the fact that he did it. It also doesn't change the fact he is a suspect. It doesn't make him any less guilty.... His family knows he did it. They would just rather protect him and that's why he lacks accountability.

He’s innocent, his brother is not! May Antonio & Dawn rest in peace. They gave their kids a great life & didn’t deserve what happened to them.🥀🥀💔😭🕊️
This is a horrific crime and I think he resented being disciplined by his parents! He was smoking marijuana daily, he was failing in school, and he had become reckless with his car! His parents were planning to take away his car until his grades improved and he was very resentful towards their attempts to punish him! He planned to murder them and he did! He felt entitled and he didn't want to follow the rules given to him by his parents! He will have a lot of time to think about his decision to murder his parents! SHAME! smh!😰
Y’all didn’t see no blood on his shirt go back and look closely. Stuff is not make no sense it’s took 7 years for him to go to jail come on now. I been looking at this case since it’s started something doesn’t make sense
Yes they did that was so messed up. But I really don't think it was AJ his defense lawyers did it and convinced AJ and his family to go along with it to get AJ off...
People dont lie to much because they are scared.... People lie simply because they dont want to face the truth be held accountable or avoid the consequences
Watched this case on multiple channels and I real believe He did it , he did it,.. Grandma, family get over it 😠. And let him rot in there. He got exactly what an murderer would deserve or probably less. He still breathes while his parents are dead!!!! GRANDMA READ THIS … your grandson is a murderer! I real hope that one day AJ confesses to his grandma before she leaves this earth!
How much did the family pay for that woman to call in? Remember, she says that there are lots of attractive women who want to get paid. Now. keep in mind that the family is willing to FRY the father's reputation to keep the son out of prison. That kiddo, for the first time, needs to accept the consequences of his actions.
And to the defense talking about he’s like a stepson. I bet if they ever free him they wouldn’t dare live with him. 😂 If that young man ever feels stopping thwarted or restricted, see what he might do. Many sociopaths are nice and polite.
He helped them carry their boxes of 🗂️ every morning through the court hallways performing for the cameras. I bet they wouldn't have ever invited him over for Thanksgiving if he was found not guilty
"We gotta go outside, the police are here, I called 911. Let's go, come on, the alarm won't set just...just...just grab my hand..." Why did he even mention anything abt the alarm system on the 911📞 while waking his sister to go outside?! Too much unnecessary detail/info is a telltale sign that something's up
@@ТоняЗаліська Sounds like AJ wanted his sister to remember the alarm is "finicky". Who cares about an alarm when their parents are not coming out and he heard gun shots. I bet he will never forget the ringing in his ears.
@@SpiritualLifeCoach43 That makes sense that he wanted to plant the seed of a faulty alarm. However, I took the ringing of the ears to be his way of overstating to the 911 dispatcher the sound of loud explosions inside the house. Reason being, the pillows would've suppressed the sound of those gunshots as his test-run 1 week earlier would've attested to
@@ТоняЗаліська Based on what the lawyers said, AJ likely put the pillow over the dads face after he was shot. Which makes sense as to why blood was on AJ's shirt. That third shot to the dad likely caused the ringing. Of many sad things, one sad thing is, I think he may have woke up cause he was spewing blood. Beyond sad. He suffered.
@@SpiritualLifeCoach43 And he did not die instantly as the time of death indicated, he died at the hospital. That may have explained AJ's 31 minute time lag in calling 911 as he had to make sure he was dead first or at least to ensure he had little to no chance of survival. I can only the imagine the acting show he put on at their funeral
52:25 They did find out honey, you just didn't like that it turned out to be who it was. That boy is guilty as sin and the grandmother is sadly deluded.
AJ IS A STRONG YOUNG DEMON, HE HAD TO MUCH UNNECESSARY FREE TIME, AND HIS GRANDMOTHER NEEDS TO BE ASHAMED OF HERSELF PICKING UP FOR AJ, AND TRIED TO BLAME IT ON JOSH, AJ PLANNED TO KILL HIS PARENTS A LONG TIME AGO
Josh didnt answer questions bc he was older, wasnt an idiot, and KNEW you NEVER talk to cops without a lawyer. The end. AJ was young and ignorant and still believed cops are there to help wituout any agendas whatsoever.
26:00 His 👁️👁️’s don’t lie. They say it all. How do you murder your very own parents?? Especially parents who worked hard to give you a privileged life. Rest in peace Dawn & Antonio💔🥀🥀🕊️
