Also it’s not mentioned enough but Rylan is such a good, supportive friend to AJ. He seems to genuinely care for her and want her to get better you can see it.

I think I’m just heartbroken at the fact that I don’t get to see them dance together anymore. I know they really wanted to dance in this final and “end on a high note“ but I truly think that they did end on a high note. It’s very clear to everyone; viewers and cast members alike that AJ was the star of this show. Her and Kai were absolute magic on that dance floor and it’s honestly the shows loss to have AJ not participate in this final. I love their bond and I find it actually quite heartwarming, and adorable that Kai is literally sobbing hard in this video… Wow mentioning in the last video AJ has never seen him cry and that he doesn’t cry a lot. I obviously am wishing AJ well, I wish her a speedy recovery. I am sure if she keeps up with the medical procedures and all the well wishes towards her she could probably still make a good 60% of the tour dates.

Never in my life did I think I could be so invested in strictly until AJ and Kai came along. Watching their journey together has given me so much to look forward to every week, not just their dancing but also their beautiful partnership. I was absolutely heartbroken to see AJ on crutches and then to hear she dropped out especially knowing the perfectionist she is and how much she loved being on the show. I hope she can make the strictly tour otherwise I’ll be selling my tickets 😂 I can’t bring myself to watch the final tonight either, it hurts too much. Fayni, big big thanks to you and the KJ community (shout out to Rebel, Annabelle, loved by you, Chim JMS, Lou Gray) for all the joy you’ve brought the past few weeks; my obsession for AJ and Kai grew because of you all and really made me pay attention to their relationship. I’ve been a silent stan liking and following all your posts and I really appreciate the time and dedication you’ve put into your content for all of us to enjoy.

It really was heartbreaking to watch. Kai totally breaking down, just so sad for them. I've been so invested in them and loved watching them. Just amazing together..I wish my friends looked at me like that!! Hopefully they can dance again on the tour..❤🤞

Could not stop crying 😭, but wishing AJ a speedy recovery and as her mum mention the sky is the limit for her. And Kai did well teaching AJ, he should be proud of himself.

Still so heartbroken. I know it's just a dance show but I honestly cannot remember a time a couple on Strictly has entertained me so much. It's like AJ and Kai were meant to dance together. Every week they delivered such difficult and exciting dances, they took risks and they performed to such a high level. AJ for me has been the best, standout dancer this series thanks to the amazing teaching from Kai helping her blossom. To start off with that Jive and not only keep that standard but improve so much your partner says it was like dancing with a professional is a testament to AJ's hard work and natural ability. I won't be watching the final because it will be too sad knowing they should be coming down the stairs, standing with R+J, performing their iconic jive and charleston as well as their showdance etc. It just won't be the same 🥺 To see Kai so upset too, especially after he said he's 'not in touch with that side', just shows how much he has appreciated his time dancing with AJ and how gutted he is to not be finishing it properly😔💔 I hope they will be remembered as Finalists because they still earned that title. I'll be remembering them as Winners 🏆

This was so painful and heartbreaking to watch! When I watched this live, I cried so much. Never been this invested in a strictly couple before. I feel for AJ, being such a strictly fan, this is such a huge blow considering all they've been through. At least they got their 40 and finished on a high. Looking forward to seeing more of AJ. I think she'll get good job contracts as a result. I really hope her and Kai remain close too.

I don't know who I'm more upset for, them or me. I'm devastated for them, but equally sad for me not being able to enjoy seeing them dance my favourite dances again (I will never get over their jive and it being their FIRST dance) and their final showstopper. I have cried with this interview. I can see the heartbreak in these two. It is so real. Dancing has really been ignited in AJ and I think that's what's difficult to handle. AJ and KAI you are this year's winners. Am glad your family got a trophy for you AJ. KAI you are just superb, a great dancer and teacher; congratulations for your 1st year on Strictly. RYLAN you are such a great friend to AJ. This interview was hard, even for us to just watch 😭😭😭. Well done Rylan for being so professional and helping someone who is really heartbroken. AJ is the most inspiring young lady. She is so talented and unique. Even in this sad interview she tries to sparkle but you can see the devastation in her eyes. She has made her family so proud. It’s their authenticity and drive that has made them touch so many hearts. This is such a heartbreaking ending to a magical journey, I’m so thankful to AJ & Kai for having the strength to be vulnerable like this. Thank you to Rylan for so beautifully orchestrating this final ITT with them. Had to watch on repeat and cry a bit more every time but even that has been cathartic. I love Kai’s genuine smile after Rylan said that we love them as a couple. This is not the last we will see of these two together, both on & off the dance floor. Our winners 😭💃🏾🏆🕺🏼

This was so emotional 😭 just devastated for them! So sweet to see that amazing positive energy of AJ’s come through to hold poor Kai together. heartbroken that it ended like this, for AJ and Kai and for all of us! AJ was the star of this season and reignited my love for Strictly. I wish she had been shown the respect she deserved for her brilliance every single week but if nothing else, I’m glad that at least last week went as well as it did for them. I didn’t know until i watched itt and i was sobbing for a good 15 minutes, it’s heartbreaking 💔 i was rooting for them to win and now they can’t dance. Strictly should get them back at some point to dance next year

I'm still so heartbroken for them both. If they were able to perform in the final, and they NAILED all three of their dances, in my opinion they could have won. AJ is a beautiful soul in and out with a real natural talent. Kai is brilliant and the best new male addition to Strictly since Kevin Clifton. Whoever he is paired with next year has a very, very tough act to follow. Can't wait to see them both on the tour (fingers crossed AJ is fighting fit by then!) Hey, all I want to thank all of you who checked up on me. I also wanted to say how proud of both these lovely people I am, and I’m in tears 😭 as I write this message. I’m not much of a crier, but these two have brought out an emotional side of me that no one has been able to in years. Or ever will again. What a first year for Kai poor thing. Like I said this is me done with strictly for good, but I can’t wait to see what these two have in store together. They cheered me up 🆙 through a depressing time, and self-harm issues I have struggled with from childhood. They were that powerful. I’m a fighter like AJ, and I know the pain of a foot injury. Just watching this again..they really were amazing together..but now more than ever during this interview they really come across as a couple..if I didn't know anything about them, I'd assume they were together...still so sad about the final and now the tour..

AJ and Kai are the Strictly 2021 winners for me and I'm so glad for both of them that they came this far in the competition and are finalists. Devastating for them that this happened in what should have been the most enjoyable week culminating an amazing journey for them. AJ would have absolutely smashed the final! Couldn't watch any more of ITT yesterday after this interview and I don't really want to watch the final but Motsi confirmed on the One Show yesterday that AJ will be there and she will be speaking, so that I want to see. It is hard to see how far they Have come I will miss them both so much. 😭 Obviously would’ve preferred the real gentleman pro ( &AJ!) to win strictly this year, but looks like the pretend one will as production had planned from day one. It’s why he was given such an appealing person as Rose. Finally after seven years he wins - but I think it will be a bit of a hollow victory now. KJ has shown such resilience in the face of all the bias and absolutely gutted that the dream team can’t finish as they deserved.

Very disappointed for Aj and Kai, however, it is not the end of the world and Aj will get better. What I am truly sad about is the way you lovely people have analysed their dances on a Saturday night and that has now, sadly come to an end, I was hoping for one more. 🙂 You guys have made my Saturday nights despite the poor judging by some - Craig & Motsi for their Argentine Tango and Cynthia for their couples choice to name but two! There have been some really laugh out loud moments when reading the comments, some of you are super talented at writing interlaced with some comedic genius and one liners. I knew from the interview earlier in the week that they weren't going to be able to compete, the pain in her face was devastating to see, but that stubborn part of me wished with all my heart that I was wrong. I hope she has a speedy recovery and the Beeb have the decency to invite her back next year if she wants...even if it's with another partner💞

Every couple put their heart in this. The work they put in. Hours and hours. I don’t believe one couple works less or wants it more. Whether you get negative comments from the judges, in the bottom , or voted off. It’s devastating. I know Aj and Kai are gutted. They worked hard also to get to the final. So sorry. They are still finalists who came in third.

I’m not sure I understand what is motivating the INTENSITY of Kai’s grief. I totally understand why Kai is sad. (I’m sad too & it’s not even happening to me.) But Does Anyone else thinks that it’s possible he feels guilty for pushing AJ too hard to do things try to overcome the judges underscoring? (Landing on those cartwheels could have started the injury.) I’m not saying I blame him - I certainly blame the production & judges for underscoring - but does he blame himself? I ask because he’s even more upset than I thought he’d be. AJ is really comforting him. His response seemed to be about a lot more than the show & winning, especially because everything was so set up for Rose to win. Was he upset because AJ was so disappointed & she will never get another opportunity to do this? Is something else going on?
