Gotta give TNA credit for innovative matches... wish IMPACT did more stuff like this. I’d like to see the steel asylum return. The X-Division guys they have right now would put on an AWESOME match:
For real, AJ Styles has the genetics of a marine. He really is phenomenal, the stuff he can do amazes me… WWE was very smart for recruiting him into their company and it’s awesome that AJ signed with them and got that opportunity even at like 37 years old.
I downloaded all of AJ's wrestling videos on pirate software like LimeWire or Kazaa. When I first saw his wrestling highlights...I was blown away. AJ alone is how I discovered TNA. He is the heart and soul of TNA...then and forever.
I understand that TNA wanted to go in a different direction when they got Hogan and Bischoff but unfortunately sometimes if isn’t broke then don’t fix it with that being said I knew once they released Jay Leathel it was the beginning of the end for TNA and once they couldn’t sign AJ that was the nail in the coffin ⚰️
@@richiebuz I never saw 2012 TNA. I tolerated as much of Hogan & Co. as much as I could. That was when I was a teen, well before I knew about the backstage stuff.
Also rhino has no fear in this type of match and he's the only man to beat both James storm and aj styles in elevation x match at destination x pay-per-views in two years
man I remember this match I was still ten years old when this match happen and it scare me to death because I love me some aj styles and rhino but aj styles was crazy to make this match back then and now this match still scare me to death watch it now thank you impact wrestling for upload this match on your guys youtube channel
Don West: Let me tell you something, Mike. Rhino's scared. You're scared. I'm scared. Everybody in this freaking building is scared! Me: What about the viewers at home?
@@WillsonT011 lol... 😅 he always be flipping them shampoo commercial hair during matches man... no lie, he's got a very healthy looking hair... dude takes really good care of his hair man... but MAN!! imagine short haired AJ with his current beard 😅 would be a nice different look altogether for him..
i remember my dad would record TNA for me to watch after WWE was done and i always thought how it wasnt like WWE i didnt know anyone but i really saw AJ as the only wrestler i liked and wished how he would of been in WWE back in his prime
This was the second phase of aj styles career when he changed his look from clean shaved look to stubble changed attire turn heel formed alliance with christian.
@@The__Gent facts. I feel like most of anybody watching TNA today aren't any of the original fans. Its hard to watch these days man knowing what it used to be.
@@LouSassoleSledgecock_III yeahh....was about like 3 years old in 2007 so i cant name a ton of stuff of the top of my head, except tna was pretty succesful, and it was a car crash of a year for wwe, you can say if it was bad or good tho
The Beginning of AJ Styles Transitioning into His Trademark Attire which we all know he wrestles in now at this match was the early stages of AJ Wearing Gloves in His Matches.
He started wearing long tights from 2007 onwards and he didn't with the gloves. The only reason he is wearing gloves in this match is because of climbing the steel posts, he didn't start wearing those trademark gloves untill 2012 onwards!
AJ Styles is without a doubt the greatest wrestler in TNA history and should be in the TNA Hall Of Fame already. He's been wrestling for over 20 years and he will without enter the WWE Hall Of Fame someday. I still remember some of the craziest moment he ever had in TNA. For example Lockdown 2006 the best moment of that match i think was when he was on top of the cage and did a dive through a table. I miss him using Spral Tap. I'd love to see him use that move one more time. TNA is the house that AJ Styles really built
This was such a cool concept and having a magician like AJ wrestling ofc makes it look so much better! I just wish TNA never went off the path they started because when they had the likes of AJ Styles, Kurt Angle, Samoa Joe and many others, they were destined for greatness!
Was a epic match should of low the trusss about 5 TO 8 feet it been better cause the guys would of had easier bump. And more chance for standing up on platform AND thus more combat fighting and ofcause even pillar use
There was a match very similar to this in the WWF. I believe "Stunning" Steve Austin was a part of it and said it was the worst match he's ever been apart of.
The whole crowd was probably thinking about Owen Hart the whole time, they didn't want to see anything like that happen, this kind of match works a crowd no matter how old.
Most gifted wrestler AJ Styles.. His skills and styles is breathtaking and no one even from WWE can top that his Ring IQ, Skills amd styles... He is AJ Styles for a reason..
By all rights, this should have been a terrible match, and Rhino looked like he did not want to be up there at all. However, they made it work and AJ showed why he is so special.
