I was in the USAF in the 70s it was the best education and growing up experience i could have ever had

My dad was born in Winchester in 1918. His momma Frankie laws died of the Spanish flu when my dad was only a year old. He served in WW2 with Patton. I served in vietnam two tours 69 70 71 with the air force in I corps. Good interview.

You're absolutely right. There was a strong sense of community and shared responsibility back then that feels different today. People looked out for each other, whether they knew you or not, and that kind of care and camaraderie made a big difference. It’s inspiring to hear these stories, and I think there’s still hope to rekindle that spirit today by continuing to show kindness and support to those around us.
