Perhaps Intro guy was there to help us to reflect on our aversion and ill will. Certainly a good opportunity to put into practice some of the excellent dhamma talk content that comes after 6.00.
It was uncommon indeed. But to be fair the first seconds were really funny. He could stop there, but he seemed to enjoy it. Of course we are here for the talk and not the intro 🙏 This teacher always calms me down, as most dharma talks. He is simply a blessing for us all ❤

The intro won’t be the norm for most of Ajahn’s talks I assume. Perhaps it was meant to be an opportunity for the speaker to practice a particular form of theatrical narrative. If that’s his calling in life, more power to him. Keep in mind that it is a traditional practice to offer music and performance in the presence of monks, even if the Vinaya stipulates their personal disengagement from it.
The intro guy that's our teacher because he caused anger and all emotions, thats exactly what we need to understand our anger and how to deal with it. You are failed in the first place
