In AJR comments, people are always asking how these songs make them feel so uplifted and touched. I believe it's because of their inclusion of unique and strange sounds in the form of music. Things you would almost never hear in an ordinary song. The way they blend all those aspects of uniqueness with all sorts of different instruments and fine-tuning is what gives us that sensation; the sensation that launches us into a state of nostalgia while sparking a new sensation that we may have never felt in our lives. They also have a way of reviving older styles of music that strays from what you see in most modern music. On top of all of this, they throw in a clear and valuable message, I believe at least one or two of these songs relate to all of us. Unfortunately, I see so many people who dislike AJR for the very things that make them the outstanding trio they are. Some people may not want to embrace the strange stuff, the abnormal stuff, so they disregard it all. Mabey they decide that it's too different so they outright reject. But of course, not everyone is like that, some people just don't find this tasteful, and that's ok, it's what makes the world interesting. What would this world be without a little flavor? Thank you so much AJR, you've been a light to me, and so many others. There are people that can smile again, people that can now see life from a different perspective, because of you guys. I'm experiencing this irl right now, but from the opposite end and platonically. I have a close online friend who I met over Twitter. He has a relatively small animation channel (less than 10k subs), and I started out as his biggest fan, so, when he made a Twitter account and announced it on his community tab, I jumped at the chance to befriend him... and I succeeded. He's now my close friend and mentor, and he even drew my current pfp for me. (I didn't even ask; he just saw my persona, got inspired, and surprised me with it!) Neither of us use Twitter anymore, but we still keep in-touch over Discord. Over the next several months, we became very close. He's unlike anyone else I've ever met. Not only is he a creative intellectual, but we have such similar thought processes that, when I talk to him, it feels almost like I'm talking to a slightly different version myself. It's like he's me as a cat and I'm him as a dog. He's the yin to my yang. However, towards the beginning of April, he disappeared without notice. He was moving up in the world, advancing from making animation memes to a pilot for his own original webtoon. He was working so hard on it that he only used the internet to post art and updates on his community tab. After 32 days, he completed the pilot, and he finally returned after having missed both of our birthdays. For the next week or so, we spent a ton of time talking. One day, we talked for 6.5 consecutive hours, and we only stopped because he was going to sleep. I never run out of things to talk about with him. He also verified that, in the first official episode of his webtoon, I'll get to voice one of his characters. However, the day after that lengthy conversation, he was gone again. He made a community post on RU-vid stating that he's begun work on the aforementioned episode. It's been 9 days since his most recent disappearance, and I already miss him again. I really want his animation to take off; I promoted the pilot everywhere I could; but he's such a special person, and I don't want him to constantly disappear, so, I, too, feel torn. Today is the first anniversary of our friendship. I wish he could be here to celebrate with me. Well, June is right around the corner. Maybe, he'll be back again by the end of next month, and we can celebrate then. Update 6/30/22: We finally got to talk again on June 19th. He said that he was busy and couldn’t talk for long, but we ended up talking for over 2 hours regardless. It was wonderful to talk to him again. I’m not a spiritual person in the slightest, but I can’t help but wonder if I know him from a past life…

this reminds me of my past relationship, he was so busy and never had the time with me, and I was so patient and waited for him but at one point I just couldn't anymore because it hurt me mentally and made me think I wasn't enough and other things. I decided to tell him and he said that he knew I deserved better and that we should just break up. It hurt really bad, but I myself am busy as well and idk how I could've managed that as well. Sigh, I wish I had this song while I was in the relationship. Its like his point of view, I should've thought about how he felt, and how hard it was for him to choose and stuff.

I think I love this album for completely different reasons than neotheather, neotheater felt like the band was one person, talking about their struggle becoming big and growing up. But this is the first album imo where the three of them take on their own form completely like they have done this before where each of their voice and struggles come out in a song, but in this album it's so stark in contrast. You can really see each of them developing their own personal struggles that differ so largely from the others and I think its just amazing how well its able to fit into the same album

Yeah, this is definitely a sort of Dear Winter part 2. Winter's dad finally found Winter's mom, but he's too busy. The line "if we're ever gonna have a kid, can we just have him in June" reinforces this.. Christmas is like another word for Winter,, so it's like "can we have Winter in June"

Litteraly everyone who stayed up to hear the album early.

it's been a while since a song has moved me to tears like this one. my boyfriend left me just before halloween 2019, and just after new year's we got together again. he was sorry that he'd missed all the holidays, including my birthday, which had been hell without him. and he promised that 2020 would be different. he spent a day in the hospital for his heart in october, but got out just in time for us to have a good halloween. that day is one of my brightest memories now. on thanksgiving morning, 2020, he was diagnosed with lung cancer. i sat in a guestroom, crying at my mom's house, while everyone had their dinner downstairs, and i talked to him through the phone. the next day was my birthday. then christmas came. then new years. it was all a blur. he missed everything, constantly at check ups and lying in hospital beds. he's out now, he's getting better. but damn i just want to spend a birthday with him, you know? we're planning on celebrating it in may, instead, to make up for all that he's had to miss. it just doesn't feel fair. anyway. what a relatable song.
