Beautiful bike. Obviously the sort of bike that you could hang on to and really enjoy for a long time. Not hard to work on (tinker with).. Lose that affinity with multi cylinder bikes that were workshop only, diagnostic specials. Hugely admire Royal Enfield for keeping that going.
Lovely - very nice even tick over, like the Triumph chaincase - does that mean some poor Triumoh owner has a tin case and a big oil stain on his drive ? Lol
To start from cold Martin, the ignition setting should be retarded, that is the lever pulled against the spring pressure and as you ride and accelerate, slowly release the lever to maximum, when stopping in traffic again pull the lever hard against the spring to retard the ignition again, to allow tick over or idle. The primer or choke in really cold weather, should be almost closed and tickle the carb, then slowly open up against the spring pressure as the engine warms up. This lever remains open from then on, until starting from cold again. Safe riding, greetings from Cornwall.
