AK-47 VS M16 rifle-World of guns Comparison 

The construction of the AK-47 is so simple. The construction of the M16 is so tight. The M16 keeps many components internal hence the tight tolerances and containment from the elements. The AK-47 keeps many components easily accessible hence the loose tolerances and exposure to the elements. The learning curve to train users of either of these assault rifles and maintenance of their components shows why the AK platform is more proliferative in the world. I love the refined engineering of the M16 but also love the user friendly design of the AK-47. M16 shoots smoothly and the AK-47 just shoots...well. Can't decide on either.

When I served in the military, I remember using the K5 pistol for the battalion, the K1A rifle for the company commanders, and the M16A1 rifle for the soldiers😊 The M16 rifle has good performance, but it has been a hassle that requires frequent cleaning of the firearms🧐 In real combat situations, the AK47 or AKM rifle might be more practical🤔

Fun Fact: despite people saying that the AK-47 is a copy of the STG-44, the actual mechanism is much closer to the m1 garand than it is the STG.

One has deadly accuracy another one has deadly firepower. So its depends upon you how you will use both of them. I'm from India and I've only seen the AK-47. I hope I can also see M16 and M4 in my next visit to army camp because all these guns are used in india.

Own both in Semi Auto configuration. Most days I'd say I prefer shooting the AKM. The AR15 is more fun to accessorize, though.

AK-47 Pros: More outer durability(Its body can take a beating. Got rolled over with a tank and was still functional), More inner durability(Dirt, Water, Mud & ECT will not beat the AK) Easy to reload, More stopping power (depending on what range & if the person is wearing body armor) AK-47 Cons: Less Controllability(AKA More recoil), Less Range, Less Accuracy, More heavy(Weighs 10.5 Pounds with mag loaded), Less Fire Rate, Rail system can't be added. M16A1 Pros: More Accuracy, More Controllability, More Fire Rate, Less Weight(Weighs 7.9 when loaded), More Range, More Penetrating Bullets, Rail System CAN be added. M16A1 Cons: Jams more often(Jams less than the M16 but, Jams more than the AK-47.), Less Reliable(The M16A1 is very reliable but, it can't take being ranned over by a tank like the AK-47 can.), Harder to reload (for a beginner shooter) Needs to be cleaned more often.

I've never fired an AKM or any variant of it. In the past, I've trained only with the M16A4 in my National Guard days. Speaking only for it, I absolutely love how easy it was for me to find success on the range. Just holding it for the first time in my own hands, I felt something. No full auto option, but with that particular weapon, I personally don't think you need to fire any other mode except for semi. Thinking back on it, I'm still kinda surprised I actually scored expert status with it. I'm sure holding an AK would feel a lot different. Fired an SKS a few times before, so I imagine the recoil is probably the same.

The accuracy,muzzle velocity,range and speed of fire is good of m16 as compsred to ak47

In short, the AK-47 has more cons than pros & the M16A1 has more pros than cons. Ak-47 would be best for: CQC (close quarter combat, house cleaning) & a survival situation(For example, you're stranded in the middle of nowhere and some body is trying to kill you. You won't have to keep cleaning the AK-47, you being stranded in the middle of nowhere most likely means you won't have any cleaning supplies to clean your weapon. So, stranded in the middle of nowhere or if there's a zombie apocalypse..the AK-47 is your friend) M16A1 would be best for: Urban/city areas(So, you're out in the big cities and someone is trying to kill you? The M16A1 is your friend cause there's very little dust, dirt, mud & water in a city. You also noticed it's very, very windy today, the lightweight, fast moving bullet of the M16A1 will not mess up your shot so you won't have to keep adjusting.) The M16A1 is good at CQC & long ranges but, the AK-47 does its best at close ranges. Overall final verdict: The M16A1 is best for about everything. Really it's subjective on if the M16a1 or AK-47 is the best but, M16A1 is just too great at about everything.
