Sending any RC car down the road at well above 100mph is not always easy but when you finally manage to push that little bit more it always feels AMAZING!
AWESOME PB run with the AK-917 after so many drama's😅
Can we push it to 150mph?

Most of my materials like Carbon Fibre, Aluminium and most hardware like screws, bolts and nuts are purchased from Ebay Australia but most of what I use is easily found just by Google searching the material or hardware you need.

Thanks Li🤪 Yeah im so happy I could get at least one clean run over 200kph🥳 Some tinkering and actually use full throttle and I think I vould achieve 150mph.

Great job, it's a small wiggly car and 126mph is legit! I feel your pain with the reflector. I hit one at 126MPH in the Limitless. The damage was a sheared screw for the battery tray and a loose pinion. No big deal in the end, but I saw my wallet flash before my eyes.

Thanks JK👍 Yes I think anything over 100mph with these smaller cars is a great achievement especially if as you said they are a bit wiggly. I would've been having heart palpitations if I crashed my limitless at that speed, wallets flashing before my eyes absolutely😱😅

Yeah it almost 2030, shouldn't we have hologram reflectors by now🤔😆 Definitely annoying especially knowing my cars has lots more in it but just scared to really push it on this road😱 Thanks for checking it out!

Very nice! Yeah I think I'd need a higher kv motor for 4s but I love low kv and high voltage for some reason🤔 Current setup should get around 140mph at full throttle but I got one more motor I can install for 140mph+ if needed👌

Yeah that's a big difference compared to my 2300kv motor😅 I think I just like having a efficient set-up even with speedrun cars, never had a warm motor speedrunning so that's a bonus👌

It has proven itself to be very resilient absolutely! I am using my Spektrum DX4C transmitter, I love Spektrum radio systems.

@@rccrazy Oh yeah, I took my Vendetta out to a new estate where Amazon is here in Western Sydney Great stretch but full of brand new Reflectors. I haven't bothered taking the AK out there. I love how your doing those speeds with relatively cheep motor & ECU

Yeah a bunch of new reflectors is like a speedrun car nightmare😖 And yes I just use whatever seems good and cheap, the ESC was actually half price so even cheaper than it should've be👌 I love using low kv and high gearing aswell, almost everyone is running like 4000kv or higher, I'm running 2300kv😅

@@rccrazy y My run was on 2200KV I think i can gear up quite easy, just don't know the best balance, KV to Gearing options... I'm tossing up getting a higher KV motor as I might run out of gearing options. I had a 39T on the motor & it only just fit... But I could raise the mount up... 🤔

Oh your still running Rlaarlo gears on a 1/8 motor, that's why mate. I only got 131kph with a 41t pinion so I changed to mod1 as soon as I put my biggest motor in it. If you got the steel spur then just run them the opposite way around, your motor has a 5mm shaft so you can run the 52t pinion with the adapter thing on the motor and the 39t pinion on the centre shaft, that will definitely raise the top speed by quite a bit👌

Oh mate expensive, tell me about it😅 The 3d printer isn't a dumb idea, even if your just using it to make temporary parts for when your waiting on factory parts👌 My young mate Lennart does a lot of 3d printing, he designed and made me a nosecone for the first Rlaarlo Challenge.

@@rccrazy yeah I've only had mine upward of 90 and it's a little sketchy and I got to do mine on a two-lane road so yeah it's a little sketchy. We're going to get her up there though. Waiting on some motor today and some new gears whenever rlaarlo decides to send them out. You know a different place. You can order gears for that or a link to them that'll fit that car

I just went straight to mod1 gears, the spur gear shaft is 5mm so you can just use a large pinion as a spur👌

Go back and watch i think my second video on the 917, was so unstable😵 It's still very hard to keep straight upto about 70mph but after that it gets a little easier.

Toe out helps me with stability absolutely but there are many factors at play, the balance could be one thing causing instability but there are many fast builds 917s and other cars that are well and truly unbalanced including mine, so much heavier on the lipo side but it still pulls both ways under like 60-70mph. Honestly I don't know what makes some of these 917s so hard to drive🤔

No I'm running mod one gears now, no need to modify having such big gears to choose from. But if you want to stick to 48p gears and not want to mod your mount you just need a 43t 48p pinion and it will mesh up with the Rlaarlo 52t spur gear

No mod1 has much larger teeth, so imagine you had a 48p and mod1 gear with the same number of teeth, the mod1 would be significantly larger diameter.

Nice job! I actually have grown to dislike RLAARLO as a company with regard to several issues I had early on with them…the quality of their hex screws & delivery times were at the forefront. Mine is finally ready to run…CASTLE 1515, MAMBA MONSTER ESC (used a HoBao motor mount), dual cooling fans for motor & CapPack, 40T spur & 34T pinion…6S POWERHOBBY LiPo…custom carbon fiber LiPo mount, rear wing & front splitter. Now I am just worried about wrecking it! Good luck…!

Thanks heaps! No I will no longer support Rlaarlo as they failed to provide any service really until a LOT of people complain. In my opinion they only have one car, the AK-917 as the rest are just copies of copies of copies😴 I was having issues with them well before the AK was announced. Then there is the whole speedrun rules controversy, changing rules so people can crash but still claim their runs and the "groups" slow speeds beat faster speeds?😵‍💫 The AK is a great car but the company behind it is not! I am thinking of selling my AK and the car I won in the first competition as I don't think I want them on my channel anymore😓
