Alpha Kappa Alpha Sorority is about sisterhood and service to all mankind. The sisterhood that was formed in 1908 on the campus of Howard University in Washington DC, bore the fruit of service to all mankind. THIS is the serious matter.... This video reminded me of the character Candice on Tyler Perry's The Haves and the Have Nots....AKA 1978
Tracks, No tracks, Big Girls, Skinny Girls hair flipping and all I dont care, you Ladies represented AKA very well, Great Job!! One of the best performances I've seen on RU-vid.
Sorors of Gamma Sigma, I am soooo proud of you as I am in my bed watching this video!!!! I was made WTR 96, Cocoa #3, 27 ShAKAdes of Beauty, I haven't been to homecoming in a couple of years, but you all are reminding me of why I need to. SKEEE-WEEE and much love Sorors, You killed it AKA style:)
Personally, I think it's WONDERFUL that Black women back in 1908 understood the IMPORTANCE of calling themselves pretty, feeling pretty, and looking pretty. It's beautiful TODAY with so many insecure Black women skin bleaching/lightening, hating their features that the first Black sorority wanted all Black women to see themselves as GORGEOUS big lips, wide noses, hips, and all.
1st of all who ever did the choreography from the strolling to the stepping - awesome job creative - fresh & unique the aka's were fluid like dancers dramatic like actresses and best of all feminine
The dancing/stepping, showing pride I get that. Holding yourself in high esteem, the unity amoungst AKA's I get that. What I don't get is putting others down to lift yourselves up. I see a lot of comments about weave but that's something cosmetic that can be changed. There is a deeper issue here. Just my opinion.
i loved it! they kept it classy but killed it at the same time! i love that chant they did when that girl was singing! i hate when ppl stereotype AKAs. to all of those ppl who say that AKAs are sidity and stuck up, yall can go kick rocks! just because they hold themselves at high esteem does not mean they are stuck up (but i will say that they do get a little carried away at times--who doesnt?)..this is a perfect example that all AKAs have to be light-skinned! but anyways, i love this video!
Great show Sorors!!! You did your thing with this show...Looking good and everything...Don't mind the haters they got a job to do...They always hate what they can't have or be like...It's all good tho...Stay beautiful ladies...PHIIIIIII-SKEE!!!!!!!
@yocorro90 the point was CLEARLY STATED in my initial post!! That there is a LOT of weave on THIS LINE (not at that school cus Im not watching a video about the school, just about this line)
Never a hater, you have no idea what I know or what was done. Respect, Status, Wealth are just a few characteristics of my family name, yes my dear, two honorary memberships, after the donations we've made.....talk what you know, not what you assume
I don't see why the comment about tracks is being made into such a big deal, it clearly isn't that serious, especially since almost every other sorority girl/non sorority girl wears tracks, why take offense to it!?
