Your videos are the most informative, educational, and entertaining, and super dope! The history of instruments are a must know. Keep up the good work cool guy.
Can you get it to work? I have one right here with a M1 Apple. Could be fun but I gave up.unless I want to.run a like a seperate computer airgapped to stop updates and some sort of obsessed archivist of archaic versions of ancient software.
With all the plugins they have now and will probably add in the future, They should recreate the VIP software for use in Standalone mode. That would be 🔥🔥🔥
Akai advance 61 .I have a few different trigger boards and love how this feels.light weight.I'm a lover of colors and buttons and sounds and this board is solid and versatile. Love mine🔥💯
I love a MIDI controller. From my Console One to my ancient Mackie MCU, from my TC Electronic 2290 and DVR250 and from my MPC Studio to my Stream Deck, my Akai Advance 61 paired with VIP 3 is the best, most versatile controller/software combination I've ever used. For loading patches and editing them in the control section without needing to look at the computer it's perfect. Unfortunately the software is no longer updated so I've been stuck on Catalina for a while but it's such a part of my process I can't imagine updating.
Dope as always. ok, so you already did the OP1 from Teenage Engineering. you GOTTA do the Pocket Operator series. and since you did the MTV music generator, do Magix Music Maker. and PLEASE do Virtual Dj. (i know its a lot, lol)
It’s kinda crazy how Maschine had a corner in the market and then squandered it over the past 5 years. Obviously subscriptions and updates to their software bundles are more profitable.
Hey, just checking your channel out now. I got the Key 61 as my first MPC. Wish I had more QLink knobs. Is there a separate controller thingie I can get?
@@DyReckProductions I also got an MPD-218, which I used to use with iPad drum apps. If I added it to MPC Key 61, it could give me more knobs and full-size PADs. I'm trying to keep things simple for now, but could be worth a try over the holidays.
Damn bro every time you drop it’s an event! Your video on the MPC 5000 nudged me to buy 1 a while back but now I’m on MPCX & I couldn’t be happier. You got plans on doing the Roland SP-202, 303, 404 line?
Recently bought a MPC Touch and an Advance 49 for the total out lay of £280! Used of course but got all the software off Akai because of there great licensing, so pretty much got Akai’s latest kit, the MPC 61 for a fraction of the price! It’s an amazing combo 😀
I have this, love the keyboard, but hate the software, I would actually much prefer that they used Komplete Kontrol because they haven't updated the software for a long while now.
Nice Video But where is the vst 3 integration? i was dissapointed when i knew that .... i was just about to get one but now i'm happy i did not.... i tried the vip soft that came with my m-audio keyboard and it's really buggy and it can't read my vsts....This VIP Soft is dead....
I love my mpk249 but I've always been looking at the greener grass in NI yard. The VIP is trash IMO and I never took much time in mpc beats. I just like faders and pads and love the way the mpk maps and has control banks! It's very MPCish spinning the wheel to set each control to a cc then using the pads to mute tracks. The keyz aren't the best but they work good. Love the colored pads too!
Your Best Break Down To Date... Except That You Forgot To Mention That These Keyboards Have Appreciated In Value...I Paid 499 For My 61 Keys And I Cant Find One In Good Condition For less Than 700 On Ebay.
You would think they would have put a screen on the MPK 249/61. It’s like they stopped having support for it especially the usb drivers. The MPK had the pads knobs and sliders where the MPC Keys only had the Qlinks and the touch strip. I brought an all black limited this year and now it’s like a paper weight. I have to plug my usb off for power and use the midi cable 🤷🏾♂️🤷🏾♂️🤷🏾♂️
I considered buying one of these in like 2018, but weighing between this and mpk 249, I just didn’t get it, or why this cost more, when the mpk had 16 pads AND 8 faders lol, so I went with that
A shame they stopped updating VIP. Didn’t know KK happened first. Now the keyboard and software are all but forgotten which is a shame ‘cause VIP was better than KK currently in some ways.
Ok, this time for a change I have to make a serious comment on this: It's a shame, that they lost this race to Native Instruments. I had one of these and I really loved the VIP-Software and its multi-instrument approach! (I promise, next time I'll try to be funny again.)
@@_thevaporz so I purchased a NI Komplete Kontrol 61 2 over a year ago. I mostly use NI echo system with Logic Pro . I wonder if I made the right decision.
Something to note: i could not get VIP to install. At all. Demo, full. Didn’t work. Ever. Crash. Crash. Crash. I read tons of other people had the same experience. Komplete Kontrol: painless install and config. Still using Komplete Kontrol.
Most FOLKS ARE LYING AND DEFENDING AKAI- THEY WILL NOT GET ANYMORE OF MY $$$ i bought that MPK 61 the first one then days right after they then released the ADVANCED61 with VIP BLAH BLAH BLAH ((so i sold my older MPK and got stuck with NON-USEABLE VIP APP NO MORE UPDATES NO MORE USB DRIVERS 👎🏽 NADA FUQ AKAI - got my MPC-LIVE THEN WEEKS LATER THEY RELEASE MPCLIVE II???🤪🤬🤬😳😳😳 nope FUQ AKAI they’re sounds are kinda bland too MY WAVESTATE BURNS HOLES THRU ALL THEYRE STUFF MY HYDRASYNTHS TOO
