If you are looking for a good and affordable gimbal for your action camera check out my review of the Hohem iSteady Pro 3: ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-UWBaMyiYkgQ.html
Don’t know much about these cameras but you’ve done the best in helping me decide with all of the audio and side by sides. Major time saver and not a lot of chit chat!
This is a great video! Thank you for taking the time to do the comparisons! I am looking to purchase a camera to do my arts and crafts tutorials. I am thinking of getting the v50 pro. I won't be moving much and maybe use on future vacations such as cruises, and diving. The voice feature I will just edit and record over anyways. Thanks again!!
Very useful. I am considering a cheap action camera for my motorbike so stabilisation is probably most important. This has helped me decide on the Brave 6. Thanks Alex.
Got my Brave 6 plus, took it on a 40 minute walk. It made a weird sound and the screen started to pixilate. Now it won't even turn on. Returned it and ordered another one. Hope the new one doesn't have the same issue.
Love the comparison man, they’re all pretty decent in bright daylight, low light for any action cam is gonna be pretty poor. The audio has a big difference, but otherwise pretty close!
@RedSkull it would be great if you had a website with a lookup and comparison guide. I'm looking for a sub $150 action cam for good Night time shots, great 4k , 30fps+ day time and EIS. or something that might be a bit more money but worth the price trade-off.
I just started my channel for fishing and have been using my phone but I want an action camera to take footage. I was thinking the gopro 7 or 8 or the v50 pro or the brave 6 plus. Any opinions on what you would get ?
Got a new one for you to review or compare. The Cooau SPC02. It claims native 4k at 60fps. The only reviews of it are mostly Italian, maybe it released in Italy first? The test footage I saw looks pretty good but it would be great to see it compared with maybe the Brave 6 plus or v50pro SE.
I just love your videos! I am trying to find a camera that does all of my needs, and my priority is finding the best camera, with the sharpest images, with the best audio built in microphone, that also has a connection to an external mic. Along with clear, responsive audio to your mouth movement that is not out of synchronisation. Plus colours that are near true. (Without paying Gopro prices!) A question for you, are you using a separate voice recorder while outside on the move? Because your recorded voice clarity is exellent.
Lol no one else said 1st yet so...21st! 🥴. Thanks for the great vids and effort. I got the brave 6 plus last week thanks to your videos since I'm sharing it with my 7year old a 350$ action cam wasnt a good option. Very happy with it so far. Very close to being the best in most categories for the Akaso lineup and imo best all arounder for that reason. Looking forward to seeing the brave 7 le too. Peace!
Thanks for the video. For running there's really no competition - I'll wait for the Brave 7 le, but very likely I'll need to save up for a Hero 7 for running videos
I was very interested in this comparison, glad you did one. It sounds like the Brave 6 plus has always-on background noise cancelation baked into the firmware. I just bought the Brave 6 plus as a b-roll mostly for video not sound and discovered that it behaves like driving mode is always on. If i start a recording, plug in usb-c power and then remove the power while still recording mine will shut itself down even in normal video mode. I hope this is fixable in a future firmware or something.
@@RedskullPro Thanks, glad to know that's not normal at least. Mine does it regardless of what mode the video setting is on even after multiple factory resets. I may return it for another or wait for the Brave 7LE thats supposed to ship this month.
2:45 for example - how is Brave 6+ color accuracy? It appears way different than other 2 cameras. Same can be seen later at 4:40 in example. Can decide between V50X and Brave 6+...
Do you have a external mic from Akaso for the V50 Pro? May you check please, if the V50 Pro mic is working with the Brave 6 Plus? I think both have USB-C plugs, but not sure if the V50 Pro mic will work with the Brave 6 plus despite of the plug!
Thank you for comparing the V50pro vs Brave6+, to me the winner is Brave6+ it has better image stabilization, COLOR is pale, not accurate but can be corrected during post, AUDIO is not crisp but less wind noise. QUESTION: is Brave6+ capable of external mic? (and thank you for showing Hero8 Black as the benchmark, worth the $300 price winner in all category)
I did some work on EIS some time ago and I will say your method is not super fair. That said, It's very difficult if not impossible to do EIS comparison super fairly. In this case, the center camera perceive lease amount of motion, especially rotational motions about the rod you are holding. It's hard to realize it, until you do true raw videos from all 3 cameras and you will realize both left and right camera perceived much more movements. The alternative is mount the cameras vertically, but then rod would have to be held perfectly vertical. Otherwise, 2 of the cameras will be disadvantaged, most likely the top 2 cameras...
Hi, thanks for the comparisons, could you in one of your videos make a review or comparison of the SOOCOO S300 action camera please. It looks a very good option.
Hi Alex! I like your reviews, straight to the point, just like we were thought back home, right? I am trying to find the best combination of action camera and gimbal for recording my family vacations. I use a lot of walking and panning and I noticed that that's the weak spot of most those camera where you can still see the shake of your arm when walking. I will like to stay under 200$ budget wise and use something as small as possible. I looked even at 3axis pocket gimbal cameras like dji pocket or fimi palm but they are not waterproof for those times at the beach. Since you are seeing daily all those things can you give me an honest idea of what I should look for? Appreciate your time. Multa bafta! Catalin
I’m looking to buy a great but inexpensive action camera for my motorcycle rides. There are so many...Akaso V50 X Pro and Elite, Brave, not to mention all the other manufacturers. In your opinion which is the best camera for stabilisation, audio, and image quality within the price range of the mentioned cameras? Thanks for your help!
First of all love from India 🇮🇳. I'm planning to buy brave 6+ for moto vlogging. Is this worth or not ? Because it suits for my budget. What's your opinion ??
Putting Gopro8 in the middle of your mount will give more stability to GP8 which already should have edge on stability according to it's price ? Thanks
Possible, but I only included the GoPro 8 as a reference in this video. The comparison was mostly intended to show the differences between the V50 Pro and Brave 6 Plus
Which model of action cam do you recommend for agressive MTB, instead a gopro Hero 8!? I need a great image stabilization, good IQ and built-in Mic. Thanks!!
The thing is...for all that jumping and shakiness the GoPro is probably your best option. The Brave 6 Plus seems to do better than most other budget cameras out there for stabilization. Akaso is coming out with a new premium camera in a week or so...the Brave 7 LE... I'll make a few videos on that one as well when it gets here
@@RedskullPro I'm ready to purchase to Brave6+ but the incoming Brave7 LE is holding me, so I'll wait for your review of the newest Brave7 LE - Thanks man!
you are right, but a higher iso will create even more noise...and the main reason why I don't is because the average user will not know how to do this :)
learn some basic color correction and you can make the footage look like GoPro or better. Davinci Resolve 16 has a free version. for audio the sound is loud enough. it only needs some increase to low end/bass(to make the voice and other sounds bassier) which you can tweak in Davinci Resolve.
I really like these action cam reviews! I think the v50 is just adding way too much sharpening to be realistic. Audio is always better with bass, and the v50 misses there as well.... Me personally, I think the GP does just fin in low light, after-all, what can we expect from any camera without IR illumination minimum? Just using the available light around the scene, realistically, I think they all did fine given their price range. I think Sony is more or less king of the low light scenario. Sony makes an action cam too, any chance of doing another side by side with Sony? Good stuff as always, Cheers bud 🍻
Hey thanks for watching. I am personally hoping that the GoPro 9 will have a bigger sensor so it can capture more light and get better low light recordings
@@RedskullPro Me too, I hope we get a proper update on v9, but maybe they pull a Microsoft Windows hat trick whereby, they show v8 but alakazam, it's a V10 or a VV depending on how we look at the thing. At best we can hope for just more, but I for one am holding out until I get 8K @60fps! We've already got it in slightly high end cameras, just waiting on the trickle down effect. Cheers 🍻
I hope Akaso combines the features of the V50 Pro and the Brave 6 Plus. Take the colour grading and microphone from the V50 Pro. Take the EIS and overall video quality from the Brave 6 Plus. If they throw in a front screen like on the Brave 7 LE it would be a real GoPro Budget Killer.
The v50 all I needs is better stabilizer on it and it a action camera that would be the best compares to a cheap alternative for those who don't want to spend 300+
Wow! Thank you so much for this review, I was thinking about investing in the AKASO Brave 6 Plus, but I think the V50 Pro beat it. I also think the GoPro 8 destroyed both of them and it is worth waiting and just buying a GoPro, Even though the GoPro 8 is 3 times the price of the others the sound and video quality are just so far beyond, WOW
Obvious naman diba na mas mataas level ng Go pro? This video compares affordable cams for only those who can't afford expensive action cameras So huwag kang tanga
Great camera comparison Alex, I guess it is worth paying double the price for the Go Pro, the video quality and OIS is amazing compared to the other competitors
Not the best set up, so the "best camera" is in the middle and the others to the side? Not the first test to dramatically fail. The Brave was as good as the go pro if not better. A shill video is a shill video.... Whatever pays the bills lad but if you want unbiased reviews then look out for shills
Thanks for the comprehensive comparison. The GoPro 8 is definitely the best, but at a big price premium. Are the GoPro 8 colours natural or over-saturated ? I'm wondering if the V50 Pro colours are more natural. I'd take the V50 Pro over the Brave 6 Plus. The Brave 6 only really seems better at image stabilization, in other aspects it seems inferior to the V50 Pro. Admittedly the Brave 6 Plus is slightly better in lowlight, but I think people might as well forget using action cams in lowlight.
Hi, the v50 Pro does have better colors than the brave 6 Plus, but if you plan on doing any movement while recording I suggest getting the Brave 6 Plus instead. Akaso has a new premium camera coming out very soon... I should have it on the channel in a week or so
I see in places, that the Akaso V50 Pro, changed vocal tones, volumes, and clarity on and off throughout your comparisons? I think that the GoPro 8 beats them all hands down!
@@RedskullPro Ahh right, is that because you didn't rate it? In your opinion do you think the Akaso Brave 6 is better? I'm looking for the best video quality/stabiliser for horse riding. Thank you for your help.
@@RedskullPro is there another camera at the price range of Brave 6 plus(if it's slightly higher it's fine) with good EIS but doesn't crop as much? i wanted to get this camera but the crop is a huge deal breaker. i want to shoot rollerblade footage and i want big angle.
thanks for the video, I got a Campark V30 but sent it back because you can't mountain bike with it at all, fov not wide enough, IS is awful and in shaded forests it looks like you have smeared Vaseline all over the lens! I've now ordered the Fimi Palm, but from a bit of a dodgy site though so if that doesn't arrive (obviously get my money back from the CC company) I will either get a Hero 8 or wait for the Hero 9. I have come to the conclusion if you want one enough to spend $100 and you are using it for anything more than static very bright day shooting you are probably better off digging deep and getting a special offer on a GoPro as the quality really is a head and shoulders above these other cameras. I wish there were cheaper options but the only action camera that comes close it the DJI Action or Sony's range which they seemed to have given up on.
@@RedskullPro Yeah I'm a big fan of all of Xiaomi products (why I bought the Fimi) but they seem to have abandoned the action cam market, the 4K+ was like 2017-2018. It was good back then but I think the Hero 8 is a decent step ahead of it and the Hero 9 isn't far away. Plus it's pretty hard to find the Yi 4K+ today which makes it expensive. If you can get it sub $200 then it's a good alternative.
Sir, i watched every video you uploaded, and i remembered this video you have a years ago, it seems you have so many actioncam collections.. Maybe you can give me old one that you disposed already hehe😀. I' m a newbie rider vlogger and i'm using my cellphone coz i don't have actioncam yet. Greetings from the philippines
GoPro is so much better on those footage. For someone on a budget not caring about max pixel but quality fast action footage a GoPro White looks to be the best choice isn't it ? Not that much expensive than the brave and better resale etc...
Yeah, when you see the footage side by side with other cameras it becomes apparent quickly. There is a new camera coming from Akaso, the Brave 7 LE, it should be pretty good. We'll find out in a few days
