Akaso seriously dropped the ball with the 7 series. Glad I went ahead and bought an on sale Brave 6 plus with the external mic and all the accessories for 108.00 3 weeks ago. And yes, the Brave 6 plus does use the external mic although the internal mic works great as well.
I love your video's, I new nothing about camera's, just decided me and a friend to get 2 cameras for when we were on the motorcycle, your video's explained everything, so I subscribed
This video make me to decide very hard on which camera should I go. I mostly will mount onto the hood in front of my car shooting driving scene. While I read on the comments there are someone saying that Brave 7 has new firmware updates which fixes a lot of things, I might need to hold on a bit before buying it.
Hello, If you still have the Brave 6 plus, Could you please check the HDMI output function? I need to confirm that the camera screen keep working simultaneously while HDMI cable connected to TV. Thank you in advance...
Great and honest review Alex, as usual. But a few salty words from me here about Akaso: That's how you produce in modern marketelogists era - you produce worse product, but add some fancy sh*t (front screen in this case), and market it like it's better and new. Moreover, I am living in Ukraine, there is no suply of Akaso here, Ali Akaso store doesn't have Brave6 Plus and they don't know if they will ever,, Amazon hong kong store doesn't have suply. I have called to Akaso company, they told me they don't deliver to Ukraine, advised Amazon. Well, if that's how you want to do business in 2021 - then yeah.. that marketing is the only thing which helps you - all other than that done poorly. Hey, SjCam, grab my money, I guess.
Good comparison video! Brave 6 Plus with EIS seems to react better/smoother to sudden direction changes than the Brave 7. Sound on both cameras is nothing to write home about, but the Brave 6 Plus sounds less muffled than the Brave 7, which is also much more vulnerable to windnoise. Brave 6 Plus has slightly better colors imo, and a slightly wider FOV. Both cameras suck at filming under low light conditions (which actioncamera doesn't?) Overal I'd say that the Brave 6 Plus is the winner. Hint for AKASO: for the next actioncamera take the waterproof body of the Brave 7 and use the guts of the Brave 6 Plus and you have a WINNER!
I would have loved to have purchased a Brave 6 plus but they are no longer available. I had to settle for a Brave 7 and am prepared to be disappointed.
@@speedsterjohnny7191 All the newer Akaso's have been getting more expensive, but have hardly (if at all) improved in quality imo. Still reget not buying a Brave 6 Plus when it was readily available.
Thanks for this review. Akaso Brave 6 plus has been out of stock since Dec 2020. Been waiting for them to restock. Will appreciate if you find shops with stocks on hand. Brave 6 plus is still the best action camera in their lineup.
I was waiting for this comparison. I have the Brave 6 Plus, probably will buy another one. For the price it's very good. In my channel I share some of my weekend rides with friends on my Honda Africa Twin Adventure Sports.
I saw today i video of akaso brave 7 review and it was saying that there is a new firmwares update for akaso brave 7 improving the sound of both internal and external microphone of the camera. The sound dramatically improved and it was compared with dji osmo action cam sound where i almost could not hear any difference... And comparing to your review video for akaso brave 7 sounds issue it is as if they have totaly replaced microphone of the camera with the latest firmware update. I would like to see if possible your review on that firmware update. Thank you in advance fro your honest detailed and useful review.
Would you go Akaso or Apeman? And which model? I’m taking a trip to Cancun and I skateboard. Just asking the pro for the best advice between the two brands.
I had the Akaso v50 Pro since 2019. It finally died and I needed another replacement. I picked up the Brave 6+, and although it is a decent camera, I was bummed that it used all new form factor batteries and chargers and cases. I ended up picking up another v50 Pro SE for its feature set, and also for the fact that the form factor did not change. So my existing v50 accessories would fit (batteries, cases etc).
Seems the Brave 6 plus is the king here. I'm curious about water resistance. only because i will use this on the motorcycle. I would even like to use the external mic setup. of course, mother nature always like to toss the curve balls.
Your action camera reviews are the best👌, thanks. I live in Canada and have not been able to find the 6 plus to buy. Does anyone know why or where it is available? Thanks.
Hey… I was living in Canada when I filmed this video 😃 I think the brave 6 plus is discontinued… I still have mine in a box in a storage unit in Ontario 🤣
First of all, you've done a phenomenal job with this video. Couldn't have asked for more! As for the cameras though, honestly the video quality is so disappointing to me. It looks like upscaled standard definition video. It actually reminds me of the home videos we took on VHS back when I was a kid in the early 90's. The clarity/sharpness of the image is lacking so you end up with a soft image with very little detail t doesn't handle the contrast very well either so the shadows seem to deep while the highlights are too bright. I find my self straining to watch it cause I know Im missing a bunch of detail so I either have to just not pay attention to whats being filmed or strain to pick up any detail I can.
Ok so in my opinion, In Stabilization, the Akaso Brave 7 is the winner because you can barely see the camera move while walking. On the other hand the Akaso Brave 6 plus isn't that behind in stabilization but I can see why you chose to give the Brave 6 plus the win for stabilization, the brave 6 plus has more smooth movements in stabilization, than the brave 7, but the brave 7 has more sudden movements. However I would've given the Brave 7 the win for stabilization, that's just my opinion. Now in audio quality the brave 6 plus is far far ahead than the brave 7. The brave 7 is extremely quiet and you can barely hear it in the wind, but the brave 6 plus is actually pretty good. The quality is good and the volume is good and also it can handle the wind, so definitely the brave 6 plus gets the win for audio. Then comes video quality. Both cameras do great in video quality, however In my opinion I like the colours of the Akaso brave 6 plus, which makes look a little more sharper both in 4k and 1080p, but the Brave 7 isn't far behind. In low light the Akaso brave 7 gets the win. But overall, obviously the Akaso Brave 6 plus is the winner in almost all categories. However I'm a little dissapointed in Akaso, as their newer models should be better in quality not worse.
I regret holding my breath for the Brave7 as it is nothing but from a hype to a big disappointment - sorry but it's just me and no one cares :-) -o- I was expecting a better audio quality from the microphone given the external USB-C option but Akaso Engineers failed big time!
